1 Ta ishato ta intena inte Kiristoosan buro guutha nayta malane buro ammanoy gelontta asa malape attin ayanan kumida asa mala gaada intes hasa7anas danda7abeyke.
But I, my friends, could not speak to you as people with spiritual insight, but only as worldly-minded – mere infants in the faith of Christ.
2 Inte buro minnontta gishshi ta intena maathi paahadis attin buro mino kathi muzabeykke. Ha7ika gidiko inte burokko.
I fed you with milk, not with solid food, for you were not then able to take it. No, and even now you are not able; you are still worldly.
3 Inte ha7ika buro ammanon minnonttayta gidida gishshi inte giddon qanatetethine palamay dees. Histin inte buro ammanon minnontta asa mala gidiketii? Inte oothoy coo mela asi oothizayssa mala gidenee?
While there exist among you jealousy and party feeling, is it not true that you are worldly, and are acting merely as other people do?
4 Gaasoyka inte garisafe issay (Ta Phawulosayssa” hankoys qass “Ta Aphilosayssa” giiko inte coo asho qofan xalala diza asa mala gideketii?
When one says ‘I follow Paul,’ and another ‘I follow Apollos,’ aren’t you like other people?
5 Ero gido shin Aphilosay aazee? Phawulosayka aazee? Istti Goday isttas issas issas immida mala oothiza oothanchatakko. Inteka istta baggara ammanidista.
What, I ask, is Apollos? Or what is Paul? Servants through whom you were led to accept the faith; and that only as the Lord helped each of you.
6 Ta tokadis; Apholsay haathi ushshids; dichchday gidiko Xoossukko.
I planted, and Apollos watered, but it was God who caused the growth.
7 Hessa gishshi dichchizay Xoossu attin tokizadeyka, Haathe ushshizadeyka aykoka gidetena.
Therefore neither the one who plants, nor the one who waters, counts for anything, but only God who causes the growth.
8 Tokizade gidin woykko ushshizade gidin istti issinokko. Isttafe issadey issadey ba ootho mala woyto ekkana.
In this the person who plants and the person who waters are one; yet each will receive their own reward in proportion to their own labor.
9 Gaasoyka nu Xoossara issife oothizaytakko. Inteka Xoossa goosha gadene Xoossa keethatakko.
For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s harvest field, God’s building.
10 Xoossafe taas imettida imotetha gina Keethe keexxiza hiilla mala keethay eqanas lo7etha giigisadis. Iza bolla hara uray keeththa keexxana. Gido attin keeththa keexxizadey wostti keexanakone naagistanas besses.
In fulfillment of the charge which God had entrusted to me, I laid the foundation like a skillful master; but someone else is now building on it. Let everyone take care how they build;
11 Gaasoyka keethay keexxeteth oykettidape guye hara wothi qass keexxana danda7iza uray oonka baawa. Hessika keethas koyroy Yesus Kiristoosakko.
for no one can lay any other foundation than the one already laid – Jesus Christ.
12 Oonka keethay koyro keexxetidayssa bolla worqqan woykko biran bonchetida shuchchan woykko miththanine maatan woykko maqan keexxiko,
Whatever is used by those who build on this foundation, whether gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or straw,
13 Izade oothoy ay malakone pirda gallas qonccana. Gasoyka he gallasay iza gede po7oy dizaso ehana. He oothoy taman paacistana gishshi issi issi ura oothoy ay malakone buro taman paacistaana.
the quality of each man’s work will become known, for the day will make it plain; because that day is to be ushered in with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of every man’s work.
14 Oonka keexxida keethi minni eqiza gidiko hessaadey ba woyto ekkana.
If anyone’s work, which they have built on that foundation, still remains, they will gain a reward.
15 Iza oothoy xuugettizadey gidiko woytoy izas deena shin izaadey ba hu7es attana. Gido attin izaade atethi tamape asi waaydi attiza atetha mala gidana.
If anyone’s work is burnt up, they will suffer loss; though they themselves will escape, but only as one who has passed through fire.
16 Inte inte hu7es Xoossa woossa keethe gididayssane Xoossa ayanay inte giddon dizayssa ereketii?
Don’t you know that you are God’s Temple, and that God’s Spirit has his home in you?
17 Oonka Xoossa woossa keeth laalliko Xooss izaade laallana. Xoossa woossa keethi geeshikko. Hessika intenakko.
If any one destroys the Temple of God, God will destroy them; for the Temple of God is sacred, and so also are you.
18 Oonka berka bena balethofo. Intefe oonka hayssa ha alamezan bena erancha mala qopiko izadey erancha gidana mala bena berka eeya mala qoodo. (aiōn g165)
Let no one deceive himself. If any one among you imagines that, as regards this world, they are wise, they should become a ‘fool,’ that they may become wise. (aiōn g165)
19 Hayssa ha dereza eratethi Xoossa achchan eeyatethikko. Kase geesha maxaafan “Izi eranchata istta gene ootho geedon zaaridi oykkana” geeteti xaafettides.
For in God’s sight this world’s wisdom is folly. Scripture tells of – ‘One who catches the wise in their own craftiness,’
20 Qasseka harason “Eranchata qofay mela hada gididayssa Goday erees” geeteti xaafetides.
And it says again – ‘The Lord sees how fruitless are the deliberations of the wise.’
21 Hessa gishshi wurka intes gidida gishshi oonka asan ceeqetofo.
Therefore let no one boast about people; for all things are yours –
22 Phawulosa gidin Aphlosa gidin woykko kefa gidin alame gidin deyo gidin woykko hayqo gidin ha7i dizazi gidin woykko buro yaana miish gidin wurka intesikko.
whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or the present, or the future – all things are yours!
23 Inteka Kiristoosaytakko; Kiristoosayka Xoossissakko.
But you are Christ’s and Christ is God’s.
