Zacharie 4

1 Et l’ange qui parlait en moi revint, et me réveilla comme un homme qu’on réveille de son sommeil.

And the Angel that talked with mee, came againe and waked mee, as a man that is raysed out of his sleepe,

2 Et il me dit: Que vois-tu, toi? Et je répondis: J’ai vu, et voilà un chandelier tout d’or, et sa lampe sur son sommet, et ses sept lampes au-dessus; et sept canaux aux lampes qui étaient sur son sommet;

And saide vnto me, What seest thou? And I said, I haue looked, and beholde, a candlesticke all of gold with a bowle vpon the toppe of it, and his seuen lampes therein, and seuen pipes to the lampes, which were vpon the toppe thereof.

3 Et deux oliviers au-dessus; un à la droite de la lampe, et un à sa gauche.

And two oliue trees ouer it, one vpon the right side of the bowle, and the other vpon the left side thereof.

4 Et je pris la parole, et je dis à l’ange qui parlait en moi: Qu’est ceci, mon Seigneur?

So I answered, and spake to the Angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my Lord?

5 Et l’ange qui parlait en moi me répondit et me dit: Est-ce que tu ne sais pas ce que c’est? Et je dis: Non, mon Seigneur.

Then the Angel that talked with mee, answered and said vnto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my Lord.

6 Et il reprit, et s’adressa à moi, disant: Voici la parole du Seigneur à Zorobabel. Ce n’est point par une armée, ni par la force, que tu achèveras le temple, mais par mon esprit, dit le Seigneur des armées.

Then he answered and spake vnto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord vnto Zerubbabel, saying, Neither by an armie nor strength, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord of hostes.

7 Qu’es-tu, grande montagne, devant Zorobabel? tu seras aplanie; il posera la pierre principale, et il ajoutera une beauté égale à sa beauté.

Who art thou, O great mountaine, before Zerubbabel? thou shalt be a plaine, and he shall bring foorth the head stone thereof, with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace vnto it.

8 Et la parole du Seigneur me fut adressée, disant:

Moreouer, the word of the Lord came vnto me, saying,

9 Les mains de Zorobabel ont fondé cette maison, et ses mains l’achèveront; et vous saurez que le Seigneur des armées m’a envoyé vers vous.

The handes of Zerubbabel haue layde the foundation of this house: his handes shall also finish it, and thou shalt knowe that the Lord of hostes hath sent me vnto you.

10 Car qui a vu avec mépris les jours courts? Mais on se réjouira, et on verra le plomb à la main de Zorobabel. Ce sont là les sept yeux du Seigneur qui parcourent toute la terre.

For who hath despised the day of the small thinges? but they shall reioyce, and shall see the stone of tinne in the hand of Zerubbabel: these seuen are the eyes of the Lord, which go thorow the whole world.

11 Et je repris et je lui dis: Que sont ces deux oliviers à la droite du chandelier, et à sa gauche?

Then answered I, and said vnto him, What are these two oliue trees vpon the right and vpon the left side thereof?

12 Et je repris une seconde fois, et je lui dis: Que sont ces deux branches d’oliviers qui sont auprès de deux becs d’or dans lesquels sont les canaux d’or par où coule l’huile?

And I spake moreouer, and said vnto him, What bee these two oliue branches, which thorowe the two golden pipes emptie themselues into the golde?

13 Et il m’interpella, en disant: Est-ce que tu ne sais pas ce que c’est? Et je répondis: Non, mon Seigneur.

And hee answered me, and saide, Knowest thou not what these bee? And I sayde, No, my Lord.

14 Et il dit: Ce sont les deux fils de l’huile sainte, qui assistent devant le Dominateur de toute la terre.

Then said he, These are the two oliue branches, that stand with the ruler of the whole earth.
