Zacharie 11
1 Ouvre tes portes, ô Liban, et qu’un feu dévore tes cèdres.
Open your doors, Lebanon, that fire may devour your cedars!
2 Hurle, sapin, parce qu’un cèdre est tombé, parce que des grands ont été abattus; hurlez, chêne de Basan, parce que la forêt fortifiée a été coupée.
Lament, cypress trees, for the cedar trees have fallen! What was majestic has been devastated! Lament, you oaks of Bashan, for the strong forest has gone down.
3 Le bruit du hurlement des pasteurs retentit, parce que leur magnificence a été ruinée; le bruit du rugissement des lions se fait entendre, parce que l’orgueil du Jourdain a été détruit.
The shepherds howl, for their glory has been destroyed! The voice of the young lions' roar, for the pride of the Jordan River has been devastated!
4 Voici ce que dit le Seigneur mon Dieu: Pais les troupeaux de tuerie,
This is what Yahweh my God says, “Like a shepherd, watch over the flock set aside for slaughter!
5 Que ceux qui les possédaient tuaient sans pitié, et ils les vendaient, disant: Béni le Seigneur! nous sommes devenus riches; et leurs pasteurs ne les épargnaient pas.
(The ones who buy them slaughter them and are not punished, and the ones who sell them say, 'Blessed be Yahweh! I have become rich!' for the shepherds working for the flocks' owners have no pity on them.)
6 Et moi je n’épargnerai pas à l’avenir des habitants de la terre, dit le Seigneur: voici que moi je livrerai les hommes, chacun à la main de son prochain et à la main de son roi; et ils ravageront la terre, et je ne les délivrerai pas de leur main.
For I will no longer pity the inhabitants of the land!—this is Yahweh's declaration. See! I myself am about to turn over every person into the hand of his neighbor and into the hand of his king, and they will destroy the land and none of them will I deliver them from their hand.”
7 Et je paîtrai le troupeau de tuerie, ô pauvres du troupeau. Et je pris pour moi deux houlettes; j’appelai l’une Beauté, et j’appelai l’autre Cordelette, et je fis paître le troupeau.
So I became the shepherd of the flock marked for slaughter, for those who dealt in sheep. I took two staffs; one staff I called “Favor” and the other I called “Unity.” In this way I shepherded the flock.
8 Et j’ai retranché trois pasteurs en un seul mois; mon âme s’est resserrée à leur égard, parce que leur âme a varié pour moi.
In one month I destroyed the three shepherds. I became impatient with them, and they also hated me.
9 Et j’ai dit: Je ne vous paîtrai pas; que ce qui meurt meure, que ce qui est retranché soit retranché; que les autres dévorent chacun la chair de son prochain.
Then I said to the owners, “I will not work as a shepherd for you any longer. The sheep that are dying—let them die; the sheep that are being destroyed—let them be destroyed. Let the sheep that remain each eat the flesh of its neighbor.”
10 Et je pris la houlette qui s’appelait Beauté, et je la brisai, pour rendre vaine mon alliance que j’ai faite avec tous les peuples.
So I took my staff “Favor” and broke it to break the covenant that I had made with all of my tribes.
11 Et cette alliance fut rendue vaine en ce jour-là, et les pauvres du troupeau qui me gardent fidélité ont reconnu que c’était la parole du Seigneur.
On that day the covenant was broken, and those who dealt in sheep and who were watching me knew that Yahweh had spoken.
12 Et je leur dis: Si cela est bon à vos yeux, apportez-moi ma récompense; et sinon, demeurez en repos. Et ils pesèrent ma récompense, trente pièces d’argent.
I said to them, “If it seems good to you, pay me my wages. But if not, do not do it.” So they weighed out my wages—thirty pieces of silver.
13 Et le Seigneur me dit: Jette au statuaire ce prix magnifique auquel j’ai été évalué par eux. Et je pris les trente pièces d’argent, et je les jetai dans la maison du Seigneur au statuaire.
Then Yahweh said to me, “Deposit the silver in the treasury, the excellent price at which they valued you!” So I took the thirty pieces of silver and deposited them in the treasury in the house of Yahweh.
14 Et je brisai ma seconde houlette qui s’appelait Cordelette, afin de détruire la fraternité entre Juda et Israël.
Then I broke my second staff, “Unity,” to break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.
15 Et le Seigneur me dit: Prends encore les instruments d’un pasteur insensé.
Yahweh said to me, “Again, take the equipment of a foolish shepherd for yourself,
16 Parce que voici que moi, je susciterai sur la terre un pasteur qui ne visitera pas la brebis abandonnée, ne recherchera pas l’égarée, et ne guérira pas la blessée, et ne nourrira pas celle qui se tient ferme sur ses pieds, mais mangera les chairs des grasses, et brisera leurs sabots.
for see, I am about to set in place a shepherd in the land. He will not care for the perishing sheep. He will not seek out the sheep gone missing, nor heal the crippled sheep. He will not feed the sheep that are healthy, but will eat the flesh of the fattened sheep and will tear off their hooves.
17 Ô pasteur et idole, qui abandonne le troupeau; un glaive tombera sur son bras et sur son œil droit; son bras sera entièrement desséché; et son œil droit sera tout couvert de ténèbres.
Woe to the worthless shepherd who forsakes the flock! May the sword come against his arm and his right eye! May his arm wither away and may his right eye become blind!”
