Zacharie 1
1 Au huitième mois, en la seconde année du roi Darius, la parole du Seigneur fut adressée à Zacharie, le prophète, fils de Barachie, fils d’Addo, disant:
In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord unto Zechariah, the son of Berechyah, the son of 'Iddo the prophet, saying,
2 Le courroux du Seigneur a été irrité contre vos pères.
The Lord hath been greatly angry with your fathers.
3 Et tu leur diras: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur des armées: Revenez à moi, dit le Seigneur des armées, et je reviendrai à vous, dit le Seigneur des armées.
And [now] say thou unto them, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Return ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will return unto you: so hath said the Lord of hosts.
4 Ne soyez pas comme vos pères auxquels les prophètes antérieurs criaient en disant: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur des armées: Revenez de vos voies mauvaises et de vos pensées très mauvaises; et ils ne m’ont pas écouté, et ils n’ont pas fait attention à moi, dit le Seigneur.
Be ye not like your fathers, unto whom the former prophets proclaimed, saying, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Do return from your evil ways, and your evil doings; but they did not hear, nor listen unto me, saith the Lord.
5 Vos pères, où sont ils? et les prophètes, est-ce qu’ils vivront éternellement?
Your fathers, —where are they! and the prophets, — could they live for ever!
6 Mais cependant mes paroles et mes décrets, que j’ai confiés à mes serviteurs les prophètes, est-ce qu’ils n’ont pas atteint vos pères, et est-ce qu’ils se sont convertis, et ont dit: Comme le Seigneur des armées avait résolu de nous faire selon nos voies et selon nos inventions, ainsi il a fait?
But my words and my decrees, which I commanded my servants the prophets, behold, they did overtake your fathers: and [then] they returned and said, Just as the Lord of hosts had purposed to do unto us, in accordance with our ways, and in accordance with our doings, so hath he dealt with us.
7 Le vingt-quatrième jour du onzième mois appelé Sabath, en la deuxième année du roi Darius, la parole du Seigneur fut adressée à Zacharie, le prophète, fils de Barachie, fils d’Addo, disant:
On the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month of Shebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord unto Zechariah, the son of Berechyahu, the son of 'Iddo the prophet, saying,
8 Je vis pendant la nuit; et voilà un homme monté sur un cheval roux, et il se tenait parmi les myrtes qui étaient dans un lieu profond; et après lui des chevaux roux, mouchetés et blancs.
I saw this night, and behold there was a man riding upon a red horse, and he was standing among the myrtle-trees that were in the deep valley; and behind him were red, pale, and white horses.
9 Et je dis: Qui sont ceux-ci, ô mon Seigneur? Et l’ange, qui parlait en moi, me répondit: Moi, je t’indiquerai ce que ceci signifie.
And I said, What are these, O my lord? Then said unto me the angel that spoke with me, I will show thee what these are.
10 Et l’homme qui se tenait parmi les myrtes répondit, et dit: Ceux-ci sont ceux qu’a envoyés le Seigneur, afin qu’ils parcourent la terre.
And the man that stood among the myrtle-trees answered and said, These are those whom the Lord hath sent to traverse the earth.
11 Et ils répondirent à l’ange du Seigneur, qui se tenait parmi les myrtes, et dirent: Nous avons parcouru la terre, et voilà que toute la terre est habitée, et est en repos.
And they answered the angel of the Lord that stood among the myrtle-trees, and said, We have traversed the earth, and, behold, all the earth is inhabited quietly, and is at rest.
12 Et l’ange du Seigneur reprit et dit: Seigneur des armées, jusqu’à quand n’aurez-vous point pitié de Jérusalem, et des villes de Juda contre lesquelles vous êtes irrité? C’est déjà la soixante et dixième année.
Then commenced the angel of the Lord, and said, O Lord of hosts, how long yet wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast been indignant these seventy years?
13 Et le Seigneur répondit à l’ange qui parlait en moi de bonne paroles, des paroles de consolation.
And the Lord answered the angel that spoke with me with good words and comforting words.
14 Et l’ange qui parlait en moi me dit: Crie en disant: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur des armées: Je brûle pour Jérusalem et pour Sion d’un très grand zèle.
And the angel that spoke with me said unto me, Proclaim thou, saying, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.
15 Et je suis aussi enflammé d’une très grande colère contre les nations opulentes, parce que, quand moi je n’ai été qu’un peu irrité, elles, au contraire, ont aidé au châtiment.
And with a great anger will I be angry with the nations that are at ease; for I was but a little angry [with Zion], and they helped forward the mischief.
16 À cause de cela, voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Je reviendrai à Jérusalem avec des sentiments de miséricorde; et ma maison y sera bâtie, dit le Seigneur des armées, et le niveau sera étendu sur Jérusalem.
Therefore thus hath said the Lord, I am returned to Jerusalem in mercy: my house shall be rebuilt in it, saith the Lord of hosts, and the measuring-line shall be stretched forth over Jerusalem.
17 Crie encore, en disant: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur des armées: Mes cités regorgeront encore de biens; le Seigneur consolera encore Sion, et il choisira encore Jérusalem.
Proclaim yet [farther], saying, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, My cities shall again overflow with prosperity: and the Lord will again comfort Zion, and make choice again of Jerusalem.
18 Et j’ai levé mes yeux, et j’ai vu; et voilà quatre cornes.
And I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, there were four horns.
19 Et j’ai dit à l’ange qui parlait en moi: Qu’est ceci? et il me répondit: Ce sont les cornes qui ont jeté au vent Juda, Israël et Jérusalem.
And I said unto the angel who spoke with me, What are these? And he said unto me, These are the horns that have dispersed Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
20 Et le Seigneur me montra quatre ouvriers.
And the Lord showed me four carpenters.
21 Et je dis: Que viennent faire ceux-ci? Il répondit en disant: Voilà les cornes qui ont jeté au vent, homme par homme, tous les habitants de Juda, et aucun d’eux n’a levé sa tête; et ceux-ci sont venus les épouvanter, afin d’abattre les cornes des nations qui ont levé la corne contre la terre de Juda pour la disperser.
Then said I, What are these coming to do? And he said as followeth, These are the horns that have dispersed Judah, to the extent that no man could lift up his head; but these are come to terrify them, to cast off the horns of the nations, that have been lifting up their horn over the land of Judah to disperse it.
