Apocalypse 1
1 Révélation de Jésus-Christ que Dieu lui a donnée pour découvrir à ses serviteurs ce qui doit arriver bientôt, et il l’a fait connaître, en l’envoyant par son ange à Jean, son serviteur,
A revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to him, to show to his servants the things which must shortly be; and sending by his messenger, he signified them to his servant John,
2 Qui a rendu témoignage à la parole de Dieu, et le témoignage de Jésus-Christ en tout ce qu’il a vu.
who testified the word of God, and the testimony of Jesus Christ, whatever he saw.
3 Bienheureux celui qui lit et écoute les paroles de cette prophétie, et garde les choses qui y sont écrites; car le temps est proche.
Happy is he that reads, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep the things that are written in it; for the time is at hand.
4 Jean, aux sept Églises qui sont en Asie: Grâce à vous et paix par celui qui est, qui était, et qui doit venir, et par les sept esprits qui sont devant son trône;
John, to the seven congregation which are in Asia; favor and peace be with you, from him who is, and who was, and who is to come; and from the seven spirits which are before his throne;
5 Et par Jésus-Christ qui est le témoin fidèle, le premier-né des morts, et le prince des rois de la terre, qui nous a aimés et nous a lavés de nos péchés dans son sang,
and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the first born of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth; to him who has loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6 Et nous a faits le royaume et les prêtres de Dieu son Père: à lui la gloire et l’empire dans les siècles des siècles. Amen. (aiōn g165)
and has made us kings and priests to his God and Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
7 Le voici qui vient sur les nuées, et tout œil le verra; et même ceux qui l’ont percé. Et toutes les tribus de la terre se frapperont la poitrine à cause de lui. Oui. Amen.
Behold, he is coming in the clouds; and every eye shall see him, even they who pierced him: and all the tribes of the earth shall mourn because of him. Yes: so let it be.
8 Je suis l’Alpha et l’Oméga, le commencement et la fin, dit le Seigneur Dieu, qui est, qui était et qui doit venir, le Tout-Puissant.
I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.
9 Moi, Jean, votre frère, qui ai part à la tribulation, au règne et à la patience en Jésus-Christ, j’ai été dans l’île de Patmos, pour la parole de Dieu et pour le témoignage de Jésus.
I, John, who am also your brother and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the island called Patmos, for the sake of the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
10 Je fus ravi en esprit le jour du Seigneur, et j’entendis derrière moi une voix éclatante comme d’une trompette,
I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard a great voice behind me, as of a trumpet,
11 Disant: Ce que tu vois, écris-le dans un livre et envoie-le aux sept Églises qui sont en Asie: à Ephèse, à Smyrne, à Pergame, à Thyatire, à Sardes, à Philadelphie et à Laodicée.
saying, What you see, write in a book, and send it to the seven congregations; to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.
12 Et je me tournai pour voir la voix qui me parlait; et m’étant tourné, je vis sept chandeliers d’or;
And I turned to see the voice which spoke to me, and being turned, I saw seven golden lamps;
13 Et au milieu des sept chandeliers d’or, quelqu’un qui ressemblait au Fils de l’homme, vêtu d’une longue robe, et ceint au-dessous des mamelles d’une ceinture d’or.
and, in the midst of the seven lamps, one like a Son of Man, clothed in a long robe, and girded about the breasts with a golden girdle.
14 Sa tête et ses cheveux étaient blancs comme de la laine blanche et comme de la neige, et ses yeux comme une flamme de feu.
His head, even his hairs, were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
15 Ses pieds étaient semblables à de l’airain fin, quand il est dans une fournaise ardente, et sa voix comme la voix de grandes eaux.
and his feet like fine brass, when glowing in a furnace; and his voice as the voice of many waters;
16 Il avait sept étoiles dans sa main droite; de sa bouche sortait une épée à deux tranchants, et son visage était lumineux comme le soleil dans sa force.
and he had in his right hand seven stars, and out of his mouth there went a sharp two-edged sword; and his countenance was as the sun, when he shines in his strength.
17 Et lorsque je l’eus vu, je tombai à ses pieds comme mort. Mais il mit sa main droite sur moi, disant: Ne crains point, je suis le premier et le dernier,
And when I saw him, I fell down at his feet, as dead; and he laid his right hand upon me, and said, Fear not; I am the First and the Last;
19 Ecris donc les choses que tu as vues, celles qui sont, et celles qui doivent arriver ensuite.
Write the things which you see, even those which are, and the things which shall be hereafter.
20 Voici le mystère des sept étoiles que tu as vues dans ma main droite, et des sept chandeliers: Les sept étoiles sont les sept anges des sept Églises, et les sept chandeliers sont les sept Églises.
As to the hidden meaning of the seven stars, which you see in my right hand, and of the seven lamps of gold: the seven stars are messengers of the seven congregations; and the seven lamps which you see, are seven congregations.
