Apocalypse 8

1 Lorsque l’Agneau eut ouvert le septième sceau, il se fit un silence dans le ciel d’environ une demi-heure.

AND when he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about half an hour.

2 Et je vis les sept anges qui se tiennent debout en présence de Dieu; et sept trompettes leur furent données.

And I saw the seven angels which stood before God, and there were given to them seven trumpets.

3 Alors un autre ange vint, et il s’arrêta devant l’autel, ayant un encensoir d’or; et une grande quantité de parfums lui fut donnée, afin qu’il présentât les prières de tous les saints sur l’autel d’or qui est devant le trône de Dieu.

And another angel came, and stood by the altar, holding a golden censer; and there were given to him many perfumes, to offer with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.

4 Et la fumée des parfums composée des prières des saints monta de la main de l’ange devant Dieu.

And the smoke of the perfumes went up with the prayers of the saints, out of the angel’s hand before God.

5 Et l’ange prit l’encensoir; il le remplit du feu de l’autel, et le jeta sur la terre; et il se fit des tonnerres, des voix, des éclairs, et un grand tremblement de terre.

And the angel took the censer, and filled it from the fire of the altar, and cast it upon the earth: and there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

6 Alors les anges qui avaient les sept trompettes se préparèrent à en sonner.

And the seven angels holding the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

7 Ainsi le premier ange sonna de la trompette; il se forma une grêle et un feu mêlé de sang; ce fut lancé sur la terre, et la troisième partie de la terre et des arbres fut brûlée, et toute herbe verte fut consumée.

And the first angel blew the trumpet, and there were hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast on the earth; and a third part of the trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

8 Le second ange sonna de la trompette, et comme une grande montagne tout en feu fut lancée dans la mer, et la troisième partie de la mer devint du sang,

And the second angel sounded, and there was cast into the sea as it were a vast mountain burning with fire: and the third part of the sea became blood;

9 Et la troisième partie des créatures qui avaient leur vie dans la mer mourut, et la troisième partie des navires périt.

and a third part of the creatures having life, which are in the sea, died; and a third part of the ships was destroyed.

10 Le troisième ange sonna de la trompette, et une grande étoile, ardente comme un flambeau, tomba du ciel sur la troisième partie des fleuves et sur les sources des eaux.

And the third angel blew the trumpet, and there fell from heaven a great star, burning as a torch, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of water;

11 Le nom de l’étoile est Absinthe; or la troisième partie des eaux devint de l’absinthe; et beaucoup d’hommes moururent des eaux, parce qu’elles étaient devenues amères.

and the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters was turned into wormwood, and multitudes of men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

12 Le quatrième ange sonna de la trompette, et la troisième partie du soleil fut frappée, et la troisième partie de la lune et la troisième partie des étoiles; de sorte que leur troisième partie fut obscurcie, et que le jour perdit la troisième partie de sa lumière, et la nuit pareillement.

And the fourth angel sounded, and a third part of the sun was smitten, and a third part of the moon, and a third part of the stars; so that a third part of them was darkened, and the day had no light during a third part of it, and the night likewise.

13 Alors je regardai, et j’entendis la voix d’un aigle qui volait au milieu du ciel, disant d’une voix forte: Malheur, malheur, malheur aux habitants de la terre! à cause des autres voix des trois anges qui allaient sonner de la trompette.

And I saw and heard one angel flying in the mid-heavens, saying with a loud voice, Wo, wo, wo, to the dwellers upon earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angels, which are ready to sound.
