Apocalypse 2
1 Écris à l’ange de l’église d’Éphèse: Voici ce que dit celui qui tient les sept étoiles dans sa main droite, qui marche au milieu des sept chandeliers d’or.
To the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden lampstands;
2 Je sais tes œuvres, et ton travail et ta patience, et que tu ne peux supporter les méchants; tu as éprouvé ceux qui se disent apôtres et ne le sont point, et tu les as trouvés menteurs.
I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and that thou canst not bear them who are evil: and thou hast tried them who say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:
3 Tu es patient, et tu as souffert pour mon nom, et tu ne t’es point découragé.
And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.
4 Mais j’ai contre toi, que tu es déchu de ta charité première.
Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
5 Souviens-toi donc d’où tu es tombé; fais pénitence, et reprends tes premières œuvres, sinon je viendrai bientôt à toi; et si tu ne fais pénitence, j’ôterai ton chandelier de sa place.
Remember therefore from which thou hast fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come to thee quickly, and will remove thy lampstand out of its place, except thou repent.
6 Mais tu as cela, que tu hais les actions des Nicolaïtes, que moi aussi je hais.
But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
7 Que celui qui a des oreilles entende ce que l’Esprit-Saint dit aux Églises: Au vainqueur, je donnerai à manger du fruit de l’arbre de vie, qui est dans le paradis de mon Dieu.
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
8 Et à l’ange de l’église de Smyrne, écris: Voici ce que dit celui qui est le premier et le dernier, qui a été mort et qui est vivant.
And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, who was dead, and is alive;
9 Je sais ton affliction et ta pauvreté; mais tu es riche, et tu es calomnié par ceux qui se disent Juifs et ne le sont pas, mais qui sont de la synagogue de Satan.
I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, ( but thou art rich ) and I know the blasphemy of them who say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
10 Ne crains rien de ce que tu auras à souffrir. Voici que le diable va mettre quelques-uns de vous en prison, afin que vous soyez éprouvés; et vous aurez des tribulations pendant dix jours. Sois fidèle jusqu’à la mort, et je te donnerai la couronne de vie.
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful to death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
11 Que celui qui a des oreilles entende ce que l’Esprit-Saint dit aux Églises: Celui qui sera victorieux ne souffrira rien de la seconde mort.
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt by the second death.
12 Et à l’ange de l’église de Pergame, écris: Voici ce que dit celui qui porte l’épée à deux tranchants:
And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he who hath the sharp sword with two edges;
13 Je sais où tu habites, où est le trône de Satan. Tu as conservé mon nom, et tu n’as pas renoncé à ma foi, même en ces jours où Antipas, mon témoin fidèle, a souffert la mort parmi vous, où Satan habite.
I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan’s throne is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days in which Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.
14 Mais j’ai quelque chose contre toi: c’est que tu as près de toi des hommes qui tiennent la doctrine de Balaam, qui apprenait à Balac à jeter des pierres de scandale devant les enfants d’Israël, à manger et à commettre la fornication.
But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit acts of immorality.
15 Toi aussi, tu as des hommes qui tiennent la doctrine des Nicolaïtes.
So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.
16 Fais pareillement pénitence, sinon je viendrai bientôt à toi, et je combattrai contre eux avec l’épée de ma bouche.
Repent; or else I will come to thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
17 Que celui qui a des oreilles entende ce que l’Esprit dit aux Églises: Au vainqueur, je donnerai la manne cachée; je lui donnerai une pierre blanche, et un nom nouveau écrit sur la pierre, lequel nul ne connaît, que celui qui le reçoit.
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth except he that receiveth it.
18 Et à l’ange de l’église de Thyatire, écris: Voici ce que dit le Fils de Dieu, qui a les yeux comme une flamme de feu, et les pieds semblables à de l’airain fin.
And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
19 Je connais tes œuvres, ta foi, ta charité, tes aumônes, ta patience, et tes dernières œuvres plus abondantes que les premières.
I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.
20 Mais j’ai quelque chose contre toi; tu permets que Jézabel, cette femme qui se dit prophétesse, enseigne et séduise mes serviteurs pour qu’ils commettent la fornication, et qu’ils mangent des viandes immolées aux idoles.
However I have a few things against thee, because thou allowest that woman Jezebel, who calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit acts of immorality, and to eat things sacrificed to idols.
21 Je lui ai donné un temps pour faire pénitence, et elle ne veut pas se repentir de sa prostitution.
And I gave her time to repent of her immorality; and she repented not.
22 Voici que vais la jeter sur un lit de douleur; et ceux qui commettent l’adultère avec elle seront dans une très grande affliction, s’ils ne font pénitence de leurs œuvres.
Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
23 Je frapperai ses enfants de mort, et toutes les Églises connaîtront que je suis celui qui sonde les reins et les cœurs, et je rendrai à chacun de vous selon ses œuvres. Mais je dis à toi
And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he who searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give to each one of you according to your works.
24 Et à vous tous qui êtes à Thyatire: Tous ceux qui n’ont point cette doctrine, et qui ne connaissent pas les profondeurs de Satan, comme ils disent, je ne mettrai point d’autre poids sur vous.
But to you I say, and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and who have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you no other burden.
25 Toutefois, ce que vous avez gardez-le jusqu’à ce que je vienne.
But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.
26 Et celui qui aura vaincu, et aura gardé mes œuvres jusqu’à la fin, je lui donnerai puissance sur les nations;
And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works to the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
27 Il les gouvernera avec une verge de fer, et elles seront brisées comme un vase de potier.
And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
28 Comme je l’ai obtenu moi-même de mon Père, et je lui donnerai l’étoile du matin.
And I will give him the morning star.
29 Que celui qui a des oreilles entende ce que l’Esprit dit aux Églises.
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.
