Apocalypse 12
1 Et un grand prodige parut dans le ciel: Une femme revêtue du soleil, ayant la lune sous ses pieds, et sur sa tête une couronne de douze étoiles.
And ther appered a gret wonder in heve A woman clothed with the sunne and the mone vnder her fete and apon her heed a croune of xii. starres.
2 Elle était enceinte, et elle criait, se sentant en travail, et elle était tourmentée des douleurs de l’enfantement,
And she was wt chylde and cryed travayllinge in byrth and payned redy to be delyvered.
3 Et un autre prodige fut vu dans le ciel: Un grand dragon roux, ayant sept têtes et dix cornes, et sur ses sept têtes, sept diadèmes.
And ther appered another wonder in heven for beholde a gret red drago havynge. vii. heddes and ten hornes and crounes vpo his heddes:
4 Or sa queue entraînait la troisième partie des étoiles, et elle les jeta sur la terre; et le dragon s’arrêta devant la femme qui allait enfanter, afin de dévorer son fils aussitôt qu’elle serait délivrée.
and his tayle drue the thyrde parte of the starres and cast them to the erth. And the dragon stode before the woman which was reddy to be delyvred: for to devoure her chylde as sone as it were borne.
5 Elle enfanta un enfant mâle qui devait gouverner toutes les nations avec une verge de fer; et son fils fut enlevé vers Dieu et vers son trône.
And she brought forth a man chylde which shulde rule all nacions with a rode of yron And her sonne was taken vp vnto God and to his seate.
6 Et la femme s’enfuit dans le désert où elle avait un lieu préparé par Dieu, pour y être nourrie mille deux cent soixante jours.
And the woman fleed into wyldernes where she had a place prepared of god that they shulde fede her there a M. ii. C and lx. dayes.
7 Alors il se fit un grand combat dans le ciel: Michel et ses anges combattaient contre le dragon, et le dragon combattait, et ses anges aussi;
And ther was grett battayll in heven Michael and his angells fowght with the dragon and the dragon fowght and his angelles
8 Mais ils ne prévalurent pas; aussi leur place ne se trouva plus dans le ciel.
and prevaylled not: nether was their place founde eny more in heven.
9 Et ce grand dragon, l’ancien serpent, qui s’appelle le Diable et Satan, et qui séduit tout l’univers, fut précipité sur la terre, et ses anges furent jetés avec lui.
And the grett dragon that olde serpent called the devyll and Sathanas was cast out. Which desceaveth all the worlde. And he was cast into the erth and his angelles were cast out also.
10 Et j’entendis une voix forte dans le ciel, disant: C’est maintenant qu’est accompli le salut de notre Dieu, et sa puissance et son règne, et la puissance de son Christ, parce qu’il a été précipité, l’accusateur de nos frères, qui les accusait devant notre Dieu jour et nuit.
And I harde a lowde voyce sayinge: in heve is nowe made salvacio and strengthe and ye kyngdome of oure God and the power of his Christ For he is cast doune which accused them before god daye and nyght.
11 Et eux l’ont vaincu par le sang de l’Agneau et par la parole de leur témoignage; et ils ont méprisé leurs vies jusqu’à souffrir la mort.
And they overcame him by the bloude of the lambe and by the worde of their testimony and they loved not their lyves vnto the deeth.
12 C’est pourquoi, cieux, réjouissez-vous, et vous qui y habitez. Malheur à la terre et à la mer, parce que le diable est descendu vers vous, plein d’une grande colère, sachant qu’il n’a que peu de temps.
Therfore reioyce hevens and ye that dwell in them. Woo to the inhabiters of the erth and of the see: for ye devyll is come doune vnto you which hath greet wrath because he knoweth that he hath but a short tyme.
13 Or après que le dragon eut vu qu’il avait été précipité sur la terre, il poursuivit la femme qui avait enfanté l’enfant mâle.
And when the dragon sawe that he was caste vnto the erth he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man chylde.
14 Mais les deux ailes du grand aigle furent données à la femme, afin qu’elle s’envolât dans le désert en son lieu, où elle est nourrie un temps et des temps, et la moitié d’un temps, hors de la présence du serpent.
And to the woman were geven two wynges of a great egle that she myght flye into the wyldrenes into her place where she is norysshed for a tyme tymes and halffe a tyme from the presence of the sarpent.
15 Alors le serpent vomit de sa bouche, derrière la femme, de l’eau comme un fleuve, pour la faire entraîner par le fleuve.
And the dragon cast out of his mouth water after the woman as it had bene a ryver because she hulde have bene caught of the floud.
16 Mais la terre aida la femme; elle ouvrit son sein, et elle engloutit le fleuve que le dragon avait vomi de sa bouche.
And the erth holpe the woman and the erth opened her mouth and swalowed vp the rever which the dragon cast out of hys mouth.
17 Et le dragon s’irrita contre la femme, et il alla faire la guerre à ses autres enfants qui gardent les commandements de Dieu, et qui ont le témoignage de Jésus-Christ.
And the dragon was wroth with the woman: and went and made warre with the remnaunt of hyr sede which kepe the commaundmentes of god and have the testimony of Iesus Christe. And I stode on the see sonde.
