Psaumes 85
1 Pour la fin, aux fils de Coré, psaume. Vous avez béni, Seigneur, votre terre; vous avez détourné la captivité de Jacob.
Yahweh, you have been kind to [us people who live in] this land; you have enabled [us] Israeli people to become prosperous again.
2 Vous avez remis l’iniquité de votre peuple, vous avez couvert tous leurs péchés.
You forgave [us], your people, for the sins that we had committed; you pardoned [us] for all our sins [DOU].
3 Vous avez apaisé votre colère, vous avez détourné votre peuple de la colère de votre indignation.
You stopped being angry [with us] and turned away from severely punishing [us].
4 Convertissez-nous, ô Dieu notre Sauveur; et détournez votre colère de nous.
Now, God, the one who saves/rescues us, (restore us/make us prosperous again) and stop being angry with us!
5 Est-ce que vous serez éternellement en colère; ou étendrez-vous votre colère de génération en génération?
(Will you continue to be angry with us forever?/Please do not continue to be angry with us forever.) [DOU, RHQ]
6 Ô Dieu, revenez à nous, vous nous donnerez la vie, et votre peuple se réjouira en vous.
Please enable us [RHQ] to prosper again in order that [we], your people, will rejoice about what you [have done for us].
7 Montrez-nous, Seigneur, votre miséricorde; et donnez-nous votre salut.
Yahweh, by rescuing us [from our troubles/difficulties], show us that you faithfully love us.
8 J’écouterai ce que dira au dedans de moi le Seigneur Dieu, parce qu’il parlera paix pour son peuple, Et pour ses saints, et pour ceux qui se tournent vers leur cœur.
I want to listen to what Yahweh [our] God says, because he promises/says that he will enable [us], his people, to live peacefully, if we do not return to doing foolish things.
9 Assurément, près de ceux qui le craignent est son salut, afin que la gloire habite dans notre terre.
He is surely ready to save/rescue those who revere him, in order that [his] glory/splendor will be seen in our land.
10 La miséricorde et la vérité se sont rencontrées; la justice et la paix se sont donné un baiser.
[When that happens], he will both faithfully love us and faithfully [do for us what he promised to do] [PRS]; and we will act/behave righteously, and he will give us peace, which will be like a kiss that he gives us.
11 La vérité est sortie de la terre, et la justice a regardé du haut du ciel.
Here on earth, we will (be loyal to/continually believe in) God, and from heaven, God will act justly/fairly [toward us].
12 Le Seigneur accordera sa bonté, et notre terre donnera son fruit.
Yes, Yahweh will do good things [for us], and there will be great harvests in our land.
13 La justice marchera devant lui, et il mettra ses pas dans la voie.
[Yahweh always acts] righteously [PRS, MET]; he acts righteously wherever he goes.
