Psaumes 84
1 Pour les pressoirs, aux fils de Coré, psaume. Qu’ils sont aimables, vos tabernacles, Seigneur des armées!
To the chief Musician. Upon the Gittith. Of the sons of Korah. A Psalm. How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Jehovah of hosts!
2 Mon âme désire avec ardeur, et languit après les parvis du Seigneur. Mon cœur et ma chair ont exulté pour le Dieu vivant.
My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of Jehovah; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
3 Car un passereau trouve pour lui une maison; une tourterelle, un nid où elle dépose ses petits.
Yea, the sparrow hath found a house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she layeth her young, thine altars, O Jehovah of hosts, my King and my God.
4 Bienheureux ceux qui habitent dans votre maison. Seigneur; dans les siècles des siècles ils vous loueront.
Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be constantly praising thee. (Selah)
5 Bienheureux l’homme dont le secours vient de vous; il a disposé dans son cœur des degrés pour s’élever,
Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee, — they, in whose heart are the highways.
6 Dans la vallée de larmes, dans le lieu qu’il a fixé.
Passing through the valley of Baca, they make it a well-spring; yea, the early rain covereth it with blessings.
7 Car le législateur donnera sa bénédiction; ils iront de vertu en vertu; il sera vu le Dieu des dieux dans Sion.
They go from strength to strength: [each one] will appear before God in Zion.
8 Seigneur, Dieu des armées, exaucez ma prière, prêtez l’oreille, Dieu de Jacob.
Jehovah, God of hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob. (Selah)
9 Dieu notre protecteur, regardez, jetez les yeux sur la face de votre Christ;
Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.
10 Parce que mieux vaut un jour passé dans vos parvis, que des milliers dans d’autres.
For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God, than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 Parce que Dieu aime la miséricorde et la vérité, le Seigneur donnera la grâce et la gloire.
For Jehovah Elohim is a sun and shield: Jehovah will give grace and glory; no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
12 Il ne privera pas de biens ceux qui marchent dans l’innocence. Seigneur des armées, bienheureux l’homme qui espère en vous.
Jehovah of hosts, blessed is the man that confideth in thee!
