1 Pour la fin, pour ceux qui seront changés, témoignage d’Asaph, psaume. Vous qui gouvernez Israël, soyez attentif: vous qui conduisez, comme une brebis, Joseph. Vous qui êtes assis sur les Chérubins, manifestez-vous
To the Overseer. — 'On the Lilies.' A testimony of Asaph. — A Psalm. Shepherd of Israel, give ear, Leading Joseph as a flock, Inhabiting the cherubs — shine forth,
2 Devant Ephraïm, Benjamin et Manassé.
Before Ephraim, and Benjamin, and Manasseh, Wake up Thy might, and come for our salvation.
3 Ô Dieu, convertissez-nous, et montrez votre face, et nous serons sauvés.
O God, cause us to turn back, And cause Thy face to shine, and we are saved.
4 Seigneur, Dieu des armées, jusques à quand serez-vous irrité au sujet de la prière de votre serviteur?
Jehovah, God of Hosts, till when? Thou hast burned against the prayer of Thy people.
5 Jusques à quand nous nourrirez-vous d’un pain de larmes, et nous donnerez-vous à boire des larmes dans une mesure?
Thou hast caused them to eat bread of tears, And causest them to drink With tears a third time.
6 Vous nous avez posés comme un objet de contradiction à nos voisins; et nos ennemis nous ont insultés.
Thou makest us a strife to our neighbours, And our enemies mock at it.
7 Dieu des armées, convertissez-nous, et montrez votre face, et nous serons sauvés.
God of Hosts, turn us back, And cause Thy face to shine, and we are saved.
8 Vous avez transporté de l’Égypte une vigne, vous avez chassé des nations, et vous l’avez plantée.
A vine out of Egypt Thou dost bring, Thou dost cast out nations, and plantest it.
9 Vous avez été un guide de route devant elle: vous avez planté ses racines, et elle a rempli la terre.
Thou hast looked before it, and dost root it, And it filleth the land,
10 Son ombre a couvert les montagnes, et ses rameaux les cèdres de Dieu.
Covered have been hills [with] its shadow, And its boughs [are] cedars of God.
11 Elle a étendu ses branches jusqu’à la mer, et ses rameaux jusqu’au fleuve.
It sendeth forth its branches unto the sea, And unto the river its sucklings.
12 Pourquoi donc avez-vous détruit son mur de clôture, et pourquoi la vendangent-ils, tous ceux qui passent dans le chemin?
Why hast Thou broken down its hedges, And all passing by the way have plucked it?
13 Un sanglier de forêt l’a entièrement dévastée; et une bête sauvage l’a broutée.
A boar out of the forest doth waste it, And a wild beast of the fields consumeth it.
14 Dieu des armées, revenez, regardez du haut du ciel et voyez, et visitez cette vigne.
God of Hosts, turn back, we beseech Thee, Look from heaven, and see, and inspect this vine,
15 Faites-la prospérer, celle que votre droite à plantée, et portez vos regards sur le fils de l’homme que vous avez établi fermement pour vous.
And the root that Thy right hand planted, And the branch Thou madest strong for Thee,
16 Elle a été brûlée par le feu et déchaussée; par la réprimande de votre visage ils périront.
Burnt with fire — cut down, From the rebuke of Thy face they perish.
17 Que votre main repose sur l’homme de votre droite, et sur le fils de l’homme que vous avez établi fermement pour vous.
Let Thy hand be on the man of Thy right hand, On the son of man Thou hast strengthened for Thyself.
18 Et nous ne nous éloignerons plus de vous; vous nous rendrez la vie, et nous invoquerons votre nom.
And we do not go back from Thee, Thou dost revive us, and in Thy name we call.
19 Seigneur, Dieu des armées, convertissez-nous; et montrez votre face, et nous serons sauvés.
O Jehovah, God of Hosts, turn us back, Cause Thy face to shine, and we are saved!
