Psaumes 77
1 Pour la fin, pour Idithun, psaume d’Asaph. De ma voix j’ai crié au Seigneur; de ma voix j’ai crié à Dieu, et il m’a prêté attention.
Unto the end, for Idithun, a psalm of Asaph. I cried to the Lord with my voice; to God with my voice, and he gave ear to me.
2 Au jour de ma tribulation j’ai recherché Dieu: mes mains durant la nuit, ont été étendues vers lui; et mon espérance n’a point été déçue.
In the day of my trouble I sought God, with my hands lifted up to him in the night, and I was not deceived. My soul refused to be comforted:
3 Je me suis souvenu de Dieu, et j’ai été ravi de joie; je me suis exercé à méditer, et mon esprit a défailli.
I remembered God, and was delighted, and was exercised, and my spirit swooned away.
4 Mes yeux ont anticipé les veilles de la nuit; j’ai été troublé, et je n’ai point parlé.
My eyes prevented the watches: I was troubled, and I spoke not.
5 J’ai pensé aux jours anciens; et j’ai eu les années éternelles dans l’esprit.
I thought upon the days of old: and I had in my mind the eternal years.
6 Et j’ai médité la nuit avec mon cœur, je m’exerçais à prier et je sondais mon esprit.
And I meditated in the night with my own heart: and I was exercised and I swept my spirit.
7 Est-ce que Dieu nous rejettera éternellement? ou ne sera-t-il pas de nouveau plus favorable encore?
Will God then cast off for ever? or will he never be more favourable again?
8 Ou retranchera-t-il sans fin sa miséricorde, de génération en génération?
Or will he cut off his mercy for ever, from generation to generation?
9 Ou Dieu oubliera-t-il d’avoir pitié? ou contiendra-t-il, dans sa colère, ses miséricordes?
Or will God forget to shew mercy? or will he in his anger shut up his mercies?
10 Et j’ai dit: C’est maintenant que je commence; ce changement est l’ œuvre de la droite du Très-Haut.
And I said, Now have I begun: this is the change of the right hand of the most High.
11 Je me suis souvenu des œuvres du Seigneur, je me souviendrai aussi de vos merveilles depuis le commencement.
I remembered the works of the Lord: for I will be mindful of thy wonders from the beginning.
12 Je méditerai sur toutes vos œuvres, et je m’exercerai dans vos desseins.
And I will meditate on all thy works: and will be employed in thy inventions.
13 Ô Dieu, votre voie est sainte: quel Dieu est grand comme notre Dieu?
Thy way, O God, is in the holy place: who is the great God like our God?
14 Vous êtes le Dieu qui faites des merveilles. Vous avez fait connaître parmi les peuples votre puissance;
Thou art the God that dost wonders. Thou hast made thy power known among the nations:
15 Vous avez racheté par votre bras votre peuple, les fils de Jacob et de Joseph.
With thy arm thou hast redeemed thy people the children of Jacob and of Joseph.
16 Les eaux vous ont vu, ô Dieu, les eaux vous ont vu; et elles ont craint, et les abîmes ont été troublés.
The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee: and they were afraid, and the depths were troubled.
17 Il y a eu un grand bruit des eaux: les nuées ont fait entendre leur voix.
Great was the noise of the waters: the clouds sent out a sound. For thy arrows pass:
18 La voix de votre tonnerre a éclaté sur la roue.
The voice of thy thunder in a wheel. Thy lightnings enlightened the world: the earth shook and trembled.
19 Dans la mer a été votre route, et vos sentiers ont été de grandes eaux: et vos traces ne seront pas connues.
Thy way is in the sea, and thy paths in many waters: and thy footsteps shall not be known.
20 Vous avez conduit, comme des brebis, votre peuple par les mains de Moïse et d’Aaron.
Thou hast conducted thy people like sheep, by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
