Psaumes 7
1 Psaume de David qu’il chanta au Seigneur, à cause des paroles de Chus, fils de Jémini. Seigneur, mon Dieu, c’est en vous que j’ai espéré; sauvez-moi de tous ceux qui me persécutent et délivrez-moi.
“A Shiggayon of David, which he sang unto the Lord, concerning the affairs of Cush the Benjamite.” O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust; save me from every one of my persecutors, and deliver me:
2 De peur qu’enfin, comme un lion, il ne ravisse mon âme, tandis qu’il n’y a personne qui me délivre et me sauve.
Lest he tear like a lion my soul, rending it in pieces, with none to deliver.
3 Seigneur mon Dieu, si j’ai fait cela, si l’iniquité est dans mes mains;
O Lord my God, if I have done this; if there be injustice in my hands;
4 Si j’ai rendu le mal à ceux qui m’en avaient fait, que je tombe devant mes ennemis sans défense; je l’ai mérité.
If I have recompensed him that was at peace with me with evil; If I have taken aught from my assailants without cause:
5 Que l’ennemi poursuive mon âme, qu’il la saisisse, et qu’il foule ma vie contre la terre, et qu’il ensevelisse ma gloire dans la poussière.
May the enemy hotly pursue my soul, and overtake it; and tread down upon the earth my life, and cause my honor to be in the dust. (Selah)
6 Levez-vous, Seigneur, dans votre colère, et paraissez dans votre grandeur au milieu de mes ennemis. Levez-vous, Seigneur mon Dieu, selon le précepte que vous avez établi.
Arise, O Lord, in thy anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of my enemies: and awake for me [to] the judgment that thou hast commanded.
7 Et l’assemblée des peuples vous environnera. Et à cause d’elle retournez en haut.
So shall the congregation of nations compass thee about: and for their sakes return thou to the height.
8 Le Seigneur juge les peuples. Jugez-moi, Seigneur, selon ma justice, et selon l’innocence qui est en moi.
The Lord will judge the people: judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to my integrity [grant] me [recompense].
9 La méchanceté des pécheurs sera anéantie, et vous dirigerez le juste, ô Dieu qui sondez les cœurs et les reins.
Oh let the evil of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just, O thou, who triest the hearts and reins, O righteous God.
10 Un juste secours me viendra du Seigneur, qui sauve les hommes droits de cœur.
My protection is by God, who saveth the upright in heath.
11 Dieu est un juge équitable, fort et patient; est-ce qu’il s’irrite tous les jours?
God is a righteous judge, and a God who is indignant [with the wicked] every day.
12 Si vous ne vous convertissez, il fera vibrer son glaive; il a tendu son arc, et il l’a préparé.
If he turn not, He will whet his sword, he bendeth his bow, and maketh it ready.
13 Il y a adapté des instruments de mort, il a préparé ses flèches contre les ardents persécuteurs.
Also for him he prepareth the instruments of death; he fashioneth his arrows against the persecutors.
14 Voilà qu’il a enfanté l’injustice: il a conçu la douleur et a mis au monde l’iniquité.
Behold, he travaileth with wrong doing; but he hath conceived mischief, and bringeth forth falsehood.
15 Il a ouvert un abîme, et il l’a creusé; et il est tombé dans la fosse qu’il avait faite.
He hath hollowed out a pit, and dug it, and is fallen into the ditch which he hath wrought.
16 La douleur qu’il voulait me causer retournera sur sa tête; et son iniquité descendra sur lui.
His mischief will return upon his own head, and upon his own skull will his violence come down.
17 Je louerai le Seigneur selon sa justice; je chanterai le nom du Dieu très-haut.
I will thank the Lord according to his righteousness; and I will sing praises to the name of the Lord the Most High.
