Psaumes 64
1 Pour la fin, psaume de David. Exaucez, ô Dieu, ma prière, lorsque je vous supplie: de la crainte d’un ennemi délivrez mon âme.
For the end, a Psalm of David. Hear my prayer, O God, when I make my petition to thee; deliver my soul from fear of the enemy.
2 Vous m’avez protégé contre l’assemblée des méchants, et contre la multitude de ceux qui opèrent l’iniquité.
Thou hast sheltered me from the conspiracy of them that do wickedly; from the multitude of them that work iniquity;
3 Parce qu’ils ont aiguisé leurs langues comme un glaive: ils ont tendu leur arc, chose amère,
who have sharpened their tongues as a sword; they have bent their bow maliciously;
4 Afin de lancer des flèches dans les ténèbres, contre un innocent.
to shoot in secret at the blameless; they will shoot him suddenly, and will not fear.
5 Ils les lanceront soudainement contre lui, et ils ne craindront point: ils se sont affermis dans un discours pervers.
They have set up for themselves an evil matter, they have given counsel to hide snares; they have said, Who shall see them?
6 Ils ont cherché avec soin des iniquités contre moi; ceux qui les cherchaient ont défailli dans ces recherches.
They have searched out iniquity; they have wearied themselves with searching diligently, a man shall approach and the heart is deep,
7 Mais Dieu sera exalté. Les plaies qu’ils ont faites sont devenues des flèches de petits enfants.
and God shall be exalted, their wounds were [caused by] the weapon of the foolish children,
8 Et leurs langues ont perdu leur force, en se tournant contre eux-mêmes. Tous ceux qui les voyaient ont été troublés,
and their tongues have set him at nought, all that saw them were troubled;
9 Et tout homme a été saisi de crainte. Et ils ont annoncé les œuvres de Dieu, et ils ont compris les choses qu’il a faites.
and every man was alarmed, and they related the works of God, and understood his deeds.
10 Le juste se réjouira dans le Seigneur, et il espérera en lui, et tous les hommes droits de cœur seront loués.
The righteous shall rejoice in the Lord, and hope on him, and all the upright in heart shall be praised.
