Psaumes 52
1 Pour la fin. Intelligence à David, Lorsque Doëg l’Iduméen vint annoncer à Saül que David était venu dans la maison d’Achimélech. Pourquoi te glorifies-tu en ta malice, toi qui es puissant en iniquité?
“For the leader of the music. A psalm of David, when Doeg, the Edomite, came and told Saul, and said to him, David is come to the house of Abimelech.” Why gloriest thou in mischief, thou man of violence? The goodness of God yet continueth daily.
2 Tout le jour, ta langue a médité l’injustice: comme un rasoir aiguisé, tu as trompé.
Thy tongue deviseth mischief, Like a sharp razor, thou contriver of deceit!
3 Tu as aimé la malice plus que la bonté; et un langage d’iniquité plutôt que d’équité.
Thou lovest evil more than good, And to lie more than to speak truth. (Pause)
4 Tu as aimé toutes les paroles de perdition, ô langue trompeuse!
Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue!
5 C’est pour cela que Dieu te détruira pour toujours, et t’enlèvera et t’exilera, toi, de ton tabernacle, et ta racine de la terre des vivants.
Thee also shall God utterly destroy! o He shall seize thee, and tear thee from thy dwelling-place, And uproot thee from the land of the living. (Pause)
6 Les justes le verront, et ils craindront; et ils riront de lui, et diront:
The righteous shall see and fear, And shall laugh at him.
7 Voilà un homme qui n’a pas pris Dieu pour son aide, mais qui a espéré dans la multitude de ses richesses, et qui s’est prévalu de sa vanité.
“Behold the man that made not God his strength, But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And placed his strength in his wickedness!”
8 Pour moi, je suis comme un olivier qui porte du fruit dans la maison de Dieu; j’ai espéré dans la miséricorde de Dieu pour l’éternité, et pour les siècles des siècles.
But I shall be like a green olive-tree in the house of God; I will trust in the goodness of God for ever and ever.
9 Je vous louerai pour toujours de ce que vous avez fait, et j’attendrai votre nom, parce qu’il est bon, en présence de vos saints.
I will praise thee for ever for what thou hast done; I will trust in thy name, because it is good, Before the eyes of thy godly ones!
