Psaumes 24

1 Le premier de la semaine, psaume de David.

David’s. A Melody. To Yahweh, belongeth, The earth and the fulness thereof, The world, and they who dwell therein;

2 Parce que c’est lui-même qui l’a fondé au-dessus des mers, et qui l’a disposé au-dessus des fleuves.

For, he, upon the seas, hath founded it, and upon the currents, doth make it firm.

3 Qui montera sur la montagne du Seigneur? Ou qui se tiendra dans son lieu saint?

Who shall ascend the mountain of Yahweh? And who shall stand in his holy place?

4 Celui dont les mains sont innocentes et le cœur pur; qui n’a pas reçu en vain son âme, qui n’a pas fait de serment trompeur à son prochain.

The clean of hands, and pure of heart, —who hath not uplifted, to falsehood, his soul, nor sworn deceitfully,

5 Celui-là recevra la bénédiction du Seigneur, et la miséricorde de Dieu, son salut.

Shall bear away a blessing from Yahweh, and righteousness, from his delivering God.

6 Telle est la génération de ceux qui le cherchent, de ceux qui cherchent la face du Dieu de Jacob.

This, is the generation of them who inquire of him, who seek thy face, O God of Jacob. (Selah)

7 Élevez vos portes, ô princes; et vous, élevez-vous, portes éternelles, et le roi de gloire entrera.

Lift up, O ye gates, your heads, and lift yourselves up, ye age-abiding doors, That the king of glory may come in.

8 Quel est ce roi de gloire? Le Seigneur des armées est lui-même ce roi de gloire.

Who is the king of glory? Yahweh, strong and mighty, Yahweh, mighty in war.

9 Élevez vos portes, ô princes; et vous, élevez-vous, portes éternelles, et le roi de gloire entrera.

Lift up, O ye gates, your heads, yea lift [them] up, ye age-abiding doors, That the king of glory may come in.

10 Quel est ce roi de gloire? Le Seigneur des armées; c’est lui qui est le roi de gloire.

Who then is the king of glory? Yahweh of hosts, He, is the king of glory. (Selah)
