Psaumes 20

1 Pour la fin, psaume de David. Que le Seigneur vous exauce au jour de la tribulation; que le nom du Dieu de Jacob vous protège.

For the Leader. A Psalm of David. The LORD answer thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob set thee up on high;

2 Qu’il vous envoie du secours du lieu saint; et que de Sion il vous défende.

Send forth thy help from the sanctuary, and support thee out of Zion;

3 Qu’il se souvienne de tous vos sacrifices, et que votre holocauste lui soit agréable.

Receive the memorial of all thy meal-offerings, and accept the fat of thy burnt-sacrifice; (Selah)

4 Qu’il vous rende selon votre cœur, et qu’il confirme tous vos desseins.

Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.

5 Nous nous réjouirons de votre salut; et dans le nom de notre Dieu nous nous glorifierons.

We will shout for joy in thy victory, and in the name of our God we will set up our standards; the LORD fulfil all thy petitions.

6 Que le Seigneur accomplisse toutes vos demandes; maintenant j’ai reconnu que le Seigneur a sauvé son Christ. Il l’exaucera du ciel, son sanctuaire: le salut de sa droite est puissant.

Now know I that the LORD saveth His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the mighty acts of His saving right hand.

7 Ceux-ci se confient dans des chariots, et ceux-là dans des chevaux; mais nous, c’est le nom du Seigneur que nous invoquerons.

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will make mention of the name of the LORD our God.

8 Ils ont été pris dans des lacs, et ils sont tombés; mais nous, nous nous sommes relevés et nous sommes restés debout,

They are bowed down and fallen; but we are risen, and stand upright.

9 Seigneur, sauvez le roi, et exaucez-nous au jour où nous vous invoquerons.

Save, LORD; let the King answer us in the day that we call.
