Psaumes 2
1 Pourquoi les nations ont-elles. frémi, et les peuples médité des choses vaines?
Why are the nations in an uproar? And why do the peoples mutter in vain?
2 Les rois de la terre se sont levés, et les princes se sont ligués contre le Seigneur et contre son Christ.
The kings of the earth stand up, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against His anointed:
3 Rompons leurs liens, ont-ils dit, et rejetons loin de nous leur joug.
'Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.'
4 Celui qui habite dans les cieux se rira d’eux, et le Seigneur se moquera d’eux.
He that sitteth in heaven laugheth, the Lord hath them in derision.
5 Alors il leur parlera dans sa colère, et dans sa fureur il les confondra.
Then will He speak unto them in His wrath, and affright them in His sore displeasure:
6 Pour moi, j’ai été établi roi par lui sur Sion, sa montagne sainte, annonçant ses préceptes.
'Truly it is I that have established My king upon Zion, My holy mountain.'
7 Le Seigneur m’a dit: Vous êtes mon Fils, c’est moi qui aujourd’hui vous ai engendré.
I will tell of the decree: the LORD said unto me: 'Thou art My son, this day have I begotten thee.
8 Demandez-moi, et je vous donnerai les nations en héritage, et en possession les extrémités de la terre.
Ask of Me, and I will give the nations for thine inheritance, and the ends of the earth for thy possession.
9 Vous les gouvernerez avec une verge de fer, et vous les briserez comme un vase de potier.
Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.'
10 Et maintenant, ô rois, comprenez; instruisez-vous, vous qui jugez la terre.
Now therefore, O ye kings, be wise; be admonished, ye judges of the earth.
11 Servez le Seigneur dans la crainte, et réjouissez-vous en lui avec tremblement.
Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12 Embrassez la doctrine, de peur que quelque jour le Seigneur ne s’irrite, et que vous ne périssiez hors de la voie de la justice. Lorsque sa colère s’enflammera en un instant, heureux tous ceux qui se confient en lui.
Do homage in purity, lest He be angry, and ye perish in the way, when suddenly His wrath is kindled. Happy are all they that take refuge in Him.
