Psaumes 135
1 Alléluia.
Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the name of the LORD; praise [him], O ye servants of the LORD:
2 Qui demeurez dans la maison du Seigneur, dans les parvis de la maison de notre Dieu.
Ye that stand in the house of the LORD, in the courts of the house of our God.
3 Louez le Seigneur, parce que le Seigneur est bon: chantez son nom, parce que son nom est doux,
Praise ye the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.
4 Parce que le Seigneur s’est choisi Jacob et Israël pour sa possession.
For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, [and] Israel for his peculiar treasure.
5 Car moi j’ai connu que le Seigneur est grand, et que notre Dieu est au-dessus de tous les dieux.
For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.
6 Tout ce qu’il a voulu, le Seigneur l’a fait dans le ciel, sur la terre, dans la mer et dans tous les abîmes.
Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that hath he done, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps.
7 Amenant des nuages de l’ extrémité de la terre, il a changé des éclairs en pluie.
He causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings for the rain; he bringeth forth the wind out of his treasuries.
8 C’est lui qui a frappé les premiers-nés d’Égypte, depuis l’homme jusqu’à la bête.
Who smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast.
9 Et il a envoyé des signes et des prodiges au milieu de toi, ô Égypte, contre Pharaon et contre tous ses serviteurs.
He sent signs and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.
10 C’est lui qui a frappé des nations nombreuses, et a tué des rois puissants,
Who smote many nations, and slew mighty kings;
11 Séhon, roi des Amorrhéens, et Og, roi de Basan, et tous les royaumes de Chanaan.
Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan:
12 Et il a donné leur terre en héritage, en héritage à Israël son peuple.
And gave their land for an heritage, an heritage unto Israel his people.
13 Seigneur, votre nom subsistera éternellement, et votre souvenir dans toutes les générations.
Thy name, O LORD, [endureth] for ever; thy memorial, O LORD, throughout all generations.
14 Parce que le Seigneur jugera son peuple, et il sera imploré par ses serviteurs.
For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself concerning his servants.
15 Les simulacres des nations sont de l’argent et de l’or; des ouvrages de main d’hommes.
The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.
16 Ils ont une bouche, et ils ne parleront pas; ils ont des yeux, et ne verront pas.
They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;
17 Ils ont des oreilles, et ils n’entendront pas, car il n’y a pas de souffle dans leur bouche.
They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths.
18 Qu’ils leur deviennent semblables, ceux qui les font, et tous ceux qui se confient en elles.
They that make them shall be like unto them; yea, every one that trusteth in them.
19 Maison d’Israël, bénissez le Seigneur; maison d’Aaron, bénissez le Seigneur.
O house of Israel, bless ye the LORD: O house of Aaron, bless ye the LORD:
20 Maison de Lévi, bénissez le Seigneur; vous qui craignez le Seigneur, bénissez le Seigneur.
O house of Levi, bless ye the LORD: ye that fear the LORD, bless ye the LORD.
21 Béni soit le Seigneur du haut de Sion, lui qui habite dans Jérusalem.
Blessed be the LORD out of Zion, who dwelleth at Jerusalem. Praise ye the LORD.
