Psaumes 118

1 Louez le Seigneur, parce qu’il est bon, parce que pour jamais est sa miséricorde.

'O give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.'

2 Dise maintenant Israël, qu’il est bon, que pour jamais est sa miséricorde.

So let Israel now say, for His mercy endureth for ever,

3 Dise maintenant la maison d’Aaron, que pour jamais est sa miséricorde.

So let the house of Aaron now say, for His mercy endureth for ever.

4 Disent maintenant ceux qui craignent le Seigneur, que pour jamais est sa miséricorde.

So let them now that fear the LORD say, for His mercy endureth for ever.

5 Du milieu de la tribulation, j’ai invoqué le Seigneur; et le Seigneur m’a exaucé, en me mettant au large.

Out of my straits I called upon the LORD; He answered me with great enlargement.

6 Le Seigneur m’est un aide: je ne craindrai pas ce que peut me faire un homme;

The LORD is for me; I will not fear; what can man do unto me?

7 Le Seigneur m’est un aide, et moi je mépriserai mes ennemis.

The LORD is for me as my helper; and I shall gaze upon them that hate me.

8 Il est bon de se confier dans le Seigneur, plutôt que de se confier dans un homme,

It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man.

9 Il est bon d’espérer dans le Seigneur, plutôt que d’espérer dans des princes.

It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes.

10 Toutes les nations m’ont environné: et c’est au nom du Seigneur que je me suis vengé d’elles.

All nations compass me about; verily, in the name of the LORD I will cut them off.

11 Environnant elles m’ont environné: et c’est au nom du Seigneur que je me suis vengé d’elles.

They compass me about, yea, they compass me about; verily, in the name of the LORD I will cut them off.

12 Elles m’ont environné comme des abeilles, et elles se sont embrasées comme un feu dans des épines, et c’est au nom du Seigneur que je me suis vengé d’elles.

They compass me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns; verily, in the name of the LORD I will cut them off.

13 Violemment heurté, j’ai été ébranlé et près de tomber, mais le Seigneur m’a soutenu.

Thou didst thrust sore at me that I might fall; but the LORD helped me.

14 Ma force et ma louange, c’est le Seigneur, il est devenu mon salut.

The LORD is my strength and song; and He is become my salvation.

15 Une voix d’exultation et de salut a retenti dans les tabernacles des justes.

The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous; the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.

16 La droite du Seigneur a exercé sa puissance, la droite du Seigneur m’a exalté, la droite du Seigneur a exercé sa puissance.

The right hand of the LORD is exalted; the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.

17 Je ne mourrai pas, mais je vivrai, et je raconterai les œuvres du Seigneur.

I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.

18 Me châtiant, il m’a châtié, le Seigneur, mais il ne m’a pas livré à la mort.

The LORD hath chastened me sore; but He hath not given me over unto death.

19 Ouvrez-moi les portes de la justice; y étant entré, je louerai le Seigneur;

Open to me the gates of righteousness; I will enter into them, I will give thanks unto the LORD.

20 Voici la porte du Seigneur, les justes y entreront.

This is the gate of the LORD; the righteous shall enter into it.

21 Je vous louerai, parce que vous m’avez exaucé, et que vous êtes devenu mon salut.

I will give thanks unto Thee, for Thou hast answered me, and art become my salvation.

22 La pierre qu’ont rejetée ceux qui bâtissaient est devenue un sommet d’angle.

The stone which the builders rejected is become the chief corner-stone.

23 C’est par le Seigneur qu’a été fait cela, et c’est admirable à nos yeux.

This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.

24 Voici le jour qu’a fait le Seigneur; réjouissons-nous et tressaillons d’allégresse en ce jour.

This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

25 Ô Seigneur, sauvez-moi, ô Seigneur, faites- moi bien prospérer;

We beseech Thee, O LORD, save now! We beseech Thee, O LORD, make us now to prosper!

26 Béni celui qui vient au nom du Seigneur! Nous vous avons béni de la maison du Seigneur;

Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD; we bless you out of the house of the LORD.

27 Le Seigneur est Dieu, et il a fait luire sa lumière sur nous.

The LORD is God, and hath given us light; order the festival procession with boughs, even unto the horns of the altar.

28 C’est vous qui êtes mon Dieu, et je vous louerai; c’est vous qui êtes mon Dieu, et je vous exalterai.

Thou art my God, and I will give thanks unto Thee; Thou art my God, I will exalt Thee.

29 Louez le Seigneur, parce qu’il est bon, parce que pour jamais est sa miséricorde.

O give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.
