1 Voici les demeures des enfants d’Israël, qui sont sortis de l’Egypte, selon leurs bandes, par l’entremise de Moïse et d’Aaron;
These, are the departures of the sons of Israel whereby they came forth out of the land of Egypt by their hosts, —in the hand of Moses and Aaron.
2 Lesquels Moïse décrivit, selon les lieux de leurs campements qu’ils changeaient par le commandement du Seigneur.
And Moses wrote their comings forth by their departures, at the bidding of Yahweh, —and these, are their departures by their comings forth.
3 Partis donc de Ramessès, au premier mois, au quinzième jour du premier mois, le lendemain de la Pâque, les enfants d’Israël, par une main élevée, tous les Egyptiens le voyant,
So then they brake up from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month, on the morrow of the passover, came forth the sons of Israel with an uplifted hand, in the sight of all the Egyptians;
4 Et ensevelissant leurs premiers-nés qu’avait frappés le Seigneur (or, même sur leurs dieux il avait exercé sa vengeance),
when the Egyptians, were burying them whom Yahweh had smitten among them, every firstborn, —when, upon their gods, Yahweh had executed judgments,
5 Campèrent à Soccoth,
Thus then the sons of Israel brake up from Rameses, —and encamped in Succoth.
6 Et de Soccoth ils vinrent à Etham, qui est aux derniers confins du désert.
And they brake up from Succoth, —and encamped in Etham, which is at the edge of the desert.
7 Sortis donc de là, ils vinrent contre Phihahiroth, qui regarde Béelséphon, et ils campèrent devant Magdalum.
And they brake up from Etham, and turned upon Pi-hahiroth, which is over against Baal-zephon, —and encamped before Migdol.
8 Et partis de Phihahiroth, ils passèrent par le milieu de la mer dans le désert; et marchant durant trois jours par le désert d’Etham, ils campèrent à Mara.
And they brake up from before Hahiroth, and passed through the midst of the sea towards the desert, —and went their way a journey of three days in the desert of Etham, and encamped in Marah.
9 Or, partis de Mara, ils vinrent à Elim, où étaient douze sources d’eaux, et soixante-dix palmiers; et ils y campèrent.
And they brake up from Marah, and came in towards Elim; there being, in Elim, twelve fountains of water, and seventy palm-trees, so they encamped there.
10 Mais étant encore sortis de là, ils plantèrent leurs tentes sur la mer Rouge. Et partis de la mer Rouge,
And they brake up from Elim, —and encamped by the Red Sea.
11 Ils campèrent dans le désert de Sin;
And they brake up from the Red Sea, —and encamped in the desert of Sin.
12 D’où étant sortis, ils vinrent à Daphca.
And they brake up from the desert of Sin, —and encamped in Dophkah.
13 Et partis de Daphca, ils campèrent à Alus.
And they brake up from Dophkah, —and encamped in Alush.
14 Or, sortis d’Alus, ils plantèrent leurs tentes à Raphidim, où l’eau pour boire manqua au peuple.
And they brake up from Alush, —and encamped in Rephidim, where was no water for the people to drink.
15 Et partis de Raphidim, ils campèrent dans le désert de Sinaï.
And they brake up from Rephidim, —and encamped in the desert of Sinai.
16 Mais, sortis aussi du désert de Sinaï, ils vinrent aux Sépulcres de la concupiscence.
And they brake up from the desert of Sinai, —and encamped in Kibroth-hattaavah.
17 Et partis des Sépulcres de la concupiscence, ils campèrent à Haséroth.
And they brake up from Kibroth-hattaavah, —and encamped in Hazeroth.
18 Or, de Haséroth, ils vinrent à Rethma.
And they brake up from Hazeroth, —and encamped in Rithmah.
19 Et partis de Rethma, ils campèrent à Remmompharès;
And they brake up from Rithmah, —and encamped in Rimmon-perez.
20 D’où étant sortis, ils vinrent à Lebna.
And they brake up from Rimmon-perez, —and encamped in Libnah.
21 De Lebna, ils campèrent à Ressa.
And they brake up from Libnah, —and encamped in Rissah.
22 Et sortis de Cessa, ils vinrent à Céélatha;
And they brake up from Rissah, —and encamped in Kehelathah.
23 D’où étant partis, ils campèrent à la montagne de Sépher.
And they brake up from Kehelathah, —and encamped in Mount Shepher.
24 Sortis de la montagne de Sépher, ils vinrent à Arada.
And they brake up from Mount Shepher, —and encamped in Haradah.
25 Partant delà, ils campèrent à Macéloth.
And they brake up from Haradah, —and encamped in Makheloth.
26 Et étant partis de Macéloth, ils vinrent à Thahath.
And they brake up from Makheloth, —and encamped in Tahath.
27 De Thahath, ils campèrent à Tharé;
And they brake up from Tahath, —and encamped in Terah.
28 D’où étant sortis, ils plantèrent leurs tentes à Methca.
And they brake up from Terah, —and encamped in Mithkah.
29 Et de Methca, ils campèrent à Hesmona.
And they brake up from Mithkah, —and encamped in Hashmonah.
30 Or, partis de Hesmona, ils vinrent à Moséroth.
And they brake up from Hashmonah, —and encamped in Moseroth.
31 Et de Moséroth, ils campèrent à Bénéjaacan.
And they brake up from Moseroth, and encamped in Bene-jaakan.
32 Mais partis de Bénéjaacan, ils vinrent à la montagne de Gadgad;
And they brake up from Bene-jaakan, and encamped in Hor-haggidgad.
33 D’où étant partis ils campèrent à Jétébatha.
And they brake up from Hor-haggidgad, —and encamped in Jotbathah, —
34 Et de Jétébatha, ils vinrent à Hébrona.
And they brake up from Jotbathah, —and encamped in Abronah.
35 Et, sortis d’Hébrona, ils campèrent à Asiongaber
And they brake up from Abronah, —and encamped in Eziongeber.
36 Partis de là, ils vinrent au désert de Sin; c’est Cadès.
And they brake up from Eziongeber, —and encamped in the desert of Zin, the same, is Kadesh.
37 Et, sortis de Cadès, ils campèrent à la montagne de Hor, aux derniers confins de la terre d’Edom.
And they brake, up from Kadesh, —and encamped in Mount Hor, on the outskirts of the land of Edom;
38 Or, Aaron, le prêtre, monta sur la montagne de Hor, le Seigneur l’ordonnant, et là il mourut, en l’année quarantième de la sortie des enfants d’Israël de l’Egypte, au cinquième mois, au premier jour du mois,
and Aaron the priest went up into Mount Hor, at the bidding of Yahweh, and died there, in the fortieth year, by the coming forth of the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first of the month.
39 Comme il avait cent vingt-trois ans.
Now, Aaron, was a hundred and twenty-three years old, when he died in Mount Hor.
40 Cependant le roi d’Arad, Chananéen, qui habitait vers le midi, apprit que les enfants d’Israël étaient venus dans la terre de Chanaan.
And a Canaanite king of Arad, who was dwelling in the South, in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming in of the sons of Israel.
41 Or, partis de la montagne de Hor, ils campèrent à Salmona;
And, they brake up from Mount Hor, —and encamped in Zalmonah.
42 D’où étant sortis, ils vinrent à Phunon.
And they brake up from Zalmonah, —and encamped in Punon.
43 Et partis de Phunon, ils campèrent à Oboth.
And they brake up from Punon, and encamped in Oboth.
44 Et d’Oboth ils vinrent à Jiéabarim, qui est aux confins des Moabites.
And they brake up from Oboth, —and encamped in Iye-abarim, within the bounds of Moab.
45 Puis, partis de Jiéabarim, ils plantèrent leurs tentes à Dibongad;
And they brake up from Iyim, —and encamped in Dibon-gad.
46 D’où étant sortis, ils campèrent à Helmondéblathaïm.
And they brake up from Dibon-gad, and encamped in Almon-diblathaim.
47 Et sortis de Helmondéblathaïm, ils vinrent aux montagnes d’Abarim, contre Nabo.
And they brake up from Almon-diblathaim, —and encamped among the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.
48 Or, partis des montagnes d’Abarim, ils passèrent dans les plaines de Moab, sur le Jourdain, contre Jéricho.
And they brake up from the mountains of Abarim, —and encamped in the waste plains of Moab, by Jordan near Jericho.
49 Et là ils campèrent, depuis Bethsimoth jusqu’à Abelsatim, dans les lieux les plus plats des Moabites,
Thus did they encamp by the Jordan from Beth-jeshimoth unto Abel-Shittim [that is, "The acacia—meadows"]—in the waste plains of Moab.
50 Où le Seigneur dit à Moïse:
And Yahweh spake unto Moses, in the waste plains of Moab, by Jordan near Jericho saying:
51 Ordonne aux enfants d’Israël, et dis-leur: Quand vous aurez passé le Jourdain, entrant dans la terre de Chanaan,
Speak unto the sons of Israel, and thou shalt say unto them, —When ye do pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan,
52 Détruisez tous les habitants de cette terre; brisez les monuments, mettez en pièces les statues, et ravagez tous les hauts lieux,
then shall ye dispossess all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and shall destroy all their figured stones, —all their molten images, also shall ye destroy, and all their high places, shall ye lay waste.
53 Purifiant la terre, et y habitant; car c’est moi qui vous l’ai donnée en possession;
So shall ye possess the land, and settle down therein, —for unto you, have I given the land to possess it.
54 Vous vous la partagerez par le sort. Au plus grand nombre, vous donnerez la partie la plus étendue, et au plus petit nombre, la partie la plus resserrée. Comme le sort sera échu à chacun, ainsi sera donné l’héritage. C’est par tribus et par familles que la possession sera partagée.
And ye shall take your inheritance in the land by lot by your families—for the large one, ye shall make large his inheritance, and for the small one, make small his inheritance, whithersoever the lot cometh out to him, his, shall, it be, by the tribes of your fathers, shall ye take your inheritance.
55 Mais si vous ne voulez pas tuer les habitants de la terre, ceux qui resteront seront comme des clous dans vos yeux et des lances dans vos côtés, et ils vous seront contraires dans la terre de votre habitation;
But if ye do not dispossess the inhabitants of the land from before you, then shall it be. that they whom ye leave remaining of them will become pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and will harass you, concerning the land, wherein, ye are settling down.
56 Et ce que j’avais pensé à leur faire, c’est à vous que je le ferai.
And it shall be, that as I thought to do unto them, I will do unto you.
