1 Or voici les prêtres et les Lévites qui montèrent avec Zorobabel, fils de Salathiel, et avec Josué: Saraïa, Jérémie, Esdras,
Now, these, are the priests and the Levites, who came up with Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua, —Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra;
2 Amaria, Melluch, Hattus,
Amariah, Malluch, Hattush;
3 Sébénias, Rhéum, Mérimuth,
Shecaniah, Rehum, Meremoth;
4 Addo, Genthon, Abia,
Iddo, Ginnethoi, Abijah;
5 Miamin, Madia, Belga,
Mijamin, Maadiah, Bilgah;
6 Séméia et Joïarib, Idaïa, Sellum, Amoc, Helcias,
Shemaiah, and Joiarib, Jedaiah;
7 Idaïa. Ceux-là furent les princes des prêtres et leurs frères dans les jours de Josué.
Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah, —these, were the chiefs of the priests and their brethren, in the days of Jeshua.
8 Mais les Lévites étaient Jésua, Bennuï, Cedmihel, Sarébia Juda, Mathanias, préposés pour les hymnes, eux et leurs frères;
And, the Levites, Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, Mattaniah, —over the choirs, he and his brethren;
9 Et Becbécia, et Hanni, et leurs frères, chacun dans son office.
and Bakbukiah and Unno their brethren, were over against them, in wards.
10 Or. Josué engendra Joacim, et Joacim engendra Eliasib, Eliasib engendra Joïada,
And Jeshua, begat Joiakim, —and Joiakim, begat Eliashib, and, Eliashib, [begat] Joiada;
11 Joïada engendra Jonathan, et Jonathan engendra Jeddoa.
and, Joiada, begat Jonathan, —and, Jonathan, begat Jaddua.
12 Et, dans les tours de Joacim, étaient prêtres et princes des familles: de Saraïa, Maraïa; de Jérémie, Hananias;
And, in the days of Joiakim, were priests, ancestral chiefs, —of Seraiah, Meraiah, of Jeremiah, Hananiah;
13 D’Esdras, Mosollam; d’Amarias, Johanan;
of Ezra, Meshullam, —of Amariah, Jehohanan;
14 De Milicho, Jonathan; de Sébénias, Joseph;
of Malluchi, Jonathan, —of Shebaniah, Joseph;
15 De Haram, Edna; de Maraïoth, Helci;
of Harim, Adna, —of Meraioth, Helkai;
16 D’Adaïa, Zacharie; de Genthon, Mosollam;
of Iddo, Zechariah, —of Ginnethon, Meshullam;
17 D’Abia, Zéchri; de Miamin et de Moadia, Phelti;

of Hilkiah, Hashabiah, —of Jedaiah, Nethanel.
22 Les Lévites, dans les jours d’Eliasib, de Joïada, de Johanan et de Jeddoa, ont été écrits princes de familles, et les prêtres, sous le règne de Darius, le Perse.
The Levites—in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, and Johanan, and Jaddua, were recorded as ancestral chiefs, —also the priests, unto the reign of Darius the Persian.
23 Les fils de Lévi, princes des familles, ont été écrits dans le Livre des actions des jours, et jusqu’aux jours de Jonathan, fils d’Eliasib.
the sons of Levi, ancestral heads, were written in the book of Chronicles, —even until the days of Johanan, son of Eliashib.
24 Et les princes des Lévites, Hasébia, Sérébia, Josué, fils de Cedmihel, et leurs frères, selon leur tour, pour louer et glorifier le Seigneur, suivant le commandement de David, homme de Dieu, et pour faire également leur service par ordre.
And, the chiefs of the Levites, Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua son of Kadmiel, with their brethren over against them, to praise—to give thanks, by the commandment of David the man of God, —ward joined to ward.
25 Mathania et Becbécia, Obédia, Mosollam, Telmon, Accub, étaient gardes des portes, et des vestibules devant les portes.
Mattaniah and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were watchers, doorkeepers of the ward, in the storehouses of the gates.
26 Ceux-là furent dans les jours de Joacim, fils de Josué fils de Josédec, et dans les jours de Néhémias, le chef, et d’Esdras, le prêtre et le scribe.
These, were in the days of Joiakim, son of Jeshua, son of Jozadak, —and in the days of Nehemiah the pasha, and Ezra the priest the scribe.
27 Mais à la dédicace du mur de Jérusalem, on rechercha les Lévites de tous les lieux pour les amener à Jérusalem, et pour faire la dédicace et des réjouissances en action de grâces, au milieu des cantiques, des cymbales, des psaltérions et des harpes.
And, at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, they sought the Levites, out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, —to keep the dedication and the rejoicing, both with thanksgiving and with music, cymbals, harps, and with lyres.
28 Or les fils des chantres s’assemblèrent de la campagne d’autour de Jérusalem, des villages de Néthuphati,
So the sons of the singers gathered themselves together, —both out of the circuit round about Jerusalem, and out of the villages of the Netophathites;
29 De la maison de Galgal, et des contrées de Géba et d’Azmaveth, parce que les chantres s’étaient bâti des villages autour de Jérusalem.
also out of Beth-gilgal, and out of the fields of Geba, and Azmaveth, —for, villages, had the singers builded for themselves, round about Jerusalem.
30 Et les prêtres et les Lévites se purifièrent, puis ils purifièrent le peuple, les portes, et le mur.
And the priests and the Levites purified themselves, —and purified the people, and the gates, and the wall.
31 Or je fis monter les princes de Juda sur le mur, et j’établis deux grands chœurs de ceux qui chantaient des louanges. Ils allèrent à droite, sur le mur, vers la porte du fumier.
Then brought I up the rulers of Judah upon the wall, —and I appointed two large choirs, even to go in procession to the right, upon the wall, towards the dung-gate;
32 Et Osaïas alla après eux, et la moitié des princes de Juda,
and after them went Hoshaiah, and half the rulers of Judah;
33 Et Azarias, Esdras et Mosollam, Juda et Benjamin, et Séméia et Jérémie.
then Azariah, Ezra, and Meshullam;
34 Et d’entre les fils des prêtres avec des trompettes: Zacharie, fils de Jonathan, fils de Séméia, fils de Mathania, fils de Michaïa, fils de Zéchur, fils d’Asaph;
Judah, and Benjamin, and Shemaiah, and Jeremiah;
35 Et ses frères, Séméïa et Azaréel, Malalaï, Galalaï, Maaï, Nathanaël, Judas et Hanani, avec les instruments de David, homme de Dieu; et Esdras, le scribe, était devant eux à la porte de la fontaine.
and, of the sons of the priests, with trumpets, Zechariah—son of Jonathan—son of Shemaiah—son of Mattaniah, son of Micaiah, son of Zaccur, son of Asaph;
36 Or ils montèrent, vis-à-vis d’eux, sur les degrés de la cité de David, au montant du mur sur la maison de David, et jusqu’à la porte des eaux, vers l’orient.
and his brethren—Shemaiah and Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, and Judah, Hanani, with the instruments of music of David, the man of God, —with Ezra the scribe before them;
37 Et le second chœur de ceux qui rendaient grâces à Dieu allait à l’opposite, et moi après eux, et la moitié du peuple sur le mur et sur la tour des fourneaux, et jusqu’au mur le plus large,
and, over they fountain gate and straight before them, they went up by the stairs of the city of David, at the going up of the wall, —above the house of David, even as far as the water-gate, eastward.
38 Puis sur la porte d’Ephraïm, sur la porte ancienne et sur la porte des poissons, et sur la tour d’Hananéel, et sur la tour d’Emath, et jusqu’à la porte du troupeau; et ils s’arrêtèrent à la porte de la prison.
And, the second choir, was going over against them, I, following it, —with the half of the people upon the wall, above the tower of the ovens, even as far as the broad wall;
39 Or les deux chœurs de ceux qui chantaient des louanges s’arrêtèrent dans la maison de Dieu, et moi, et la moitié des magistrats avec moi;
and above the gate of Ephraim, and upon the old gate, and upon the fish-gate, and the tower of Hananel, and the tower of Hammeah, even as far as the sheep-gate, —and they came to a stand, at the gate of the guard.
40 Et les prêtres, Eliachim, Maasia, Miamin, Michéa, Elioénaï, Zacharie et Hanania, avec des trompettes;
So the two choirs, came to a stand, at the house of God, —and I, and half the deputies with me;
41 Et Maasia, Séméia, Eléazar, Azzi, Johanan, Melchia, Elam et Ezer. Et les chantres chantèrent avec éclat, et Jézraïa leur préposé;
and, the priests—Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;
42 Et ils immolèrent en ce jour-là de grandes victimes, et ils se livrèrent à l’allégresse; car Dieu les avait remplis d’une grande joie; mais leurs femmes aussi et leurs enfants se réjouirent, et la joie de Jérusalem fut entendue au loin.
and Maaseiah and Shemaiah and Eleazar and Uzzi and Jehohanan and Malchijah and Elam and Ezer, —and the musicians sounded, aloud with Jezrahiah who was over them.
43 De plus, ils choisirent en ce jour-là des hommes pour les chambres du trésor, pour les libations, pour les prémices, et pour les dîmes, afin que par eux les princes de la cité amenassent, avec la pompe d’une action de grâces, les prêtres et les Lévites, parce que Juda était dans l’allégresse à cause des prêtres et des Lévites qui étaient présents.
And they sacrificed, on that day, great sacrifices, and rejoiced, for, God, had caused them to rejoice with great joy, moreover also, the women and children, rejoiced, —so that the rejoicing of Jerusalem was heard afar off.
44 Et ils gardèrent l’observance de leur Dieu et l’observance de l’expiation; de même les chantres et les portiers, suivant le commandement de David et de Salomon son fils,
And there were set in charge, on that day, certain men, over the chambers for the treasures, for the heave-offerings, for the firstfruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them, out of the fields of the cities, the portions appointed by the law, for the priests, and for the Levites, —for, the joy of Judah, was over the priests and over the Levites, who were remaining.
45 Parce que dans les jours de David et d’Asaph, dès le commencement, étaient établis les princes des chantres qui dans des cantiques louaient et glorifiaient Dieu.
So they kept the charge of their God, and the charge of the purification, and [so did] the singers and the doorkeepers, —according to the commandment of David and of Solomon his son.
46 Et tout Israël, dans les jours de Néhémias, donnait leurs parts aux chantres et aux portiers chaque jour; ils sanctifiaient aussi les Lévites, et les Lévites sanctifiaient les fils d’Aaron.
For, in the days of David and Asaph, of old, there were chiefs of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving, unto God.
Now, all Israel—in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, used to give the portions of the singers and the doorkeepers, the need of a day upon its day, —and they hallowed them unto the Levites, and, the Levites, hallowed them unto the sons of Aaron.
