Matthieu 6
1 Prenez garde à ne pas faire votre justice devant les hommes, pour être vus d’eux; autrement vous n’aurez point de récompense de votre Père qui est dans les cieux.
Take hede to youre almes. That ye geve it not in the syght of men to the intent that ye wolde be sene of them. Or els ye get no rewarde of youre father which is in heve.
2 Lors donc que tu fais l’aumône, ne sonne pas de la trompette devant toi, comme font les hypocrites dans les synagogues et dans les rues, afin d’être honorés des hommes. En vérité, je vous le dis, ils ont reçu leur récompense.
Whe soever therfore thou gevest thine almes thou shalt not make a tropet to be blowe before the as ye ypocrites do in the synagogis and in the stretis for to be preysed of men. Verely I say vnto you they have their rewarde.
3 Pour toi, quand tu fais l’aumône, que ta main gauche ne sache pas ce que fait ta droite,
But whe thou doest thine almes let not thy lyfte had knowe what thy righte had doth
4 Afin que ton aumône soit dans le secret; et ton Père, qui voit dans le secret, te le rendra.
yt thine almes may be secret: and thy father which seith in secret shall rewarde ye opely.
5 Et, lorsque vous priez, ne soyez pas comme les hypocrites qui aiment à prier debout dans les synagogues et au coin des grandes rues, afin d’être vus des hommes. En vérité, je vous le dis, ils ont reçu leur récompense.
And when thou prayest thou shalt not be as ye ypocrytes are. For they love to stond and praye in the synagoges and in the corners of ye stretes because they wolde be sene of men. Verely I saye vnto you they haue their rewarde.
6 Mais toi, quand tu pries, entre dans ta chambre, et, la porte fermée, prie ton Père en secret: et ton Père, qui voit dans le secret, te le rendra.
But when thou prayest entre into thy chamber and shut thy dore to the and praye to thy father which ys in secrete: and thy father which seith in secret shall rewarde the openly.
7 Or, priant, ne parlez pas beaucoup comme les païens; ils s’imaginent qu’à force de paroles ils seront exaucés.
And whe ye praye bable not moche as the hethe do: for they thincke that they shalbe herde for their moche bablynges sake.
8 Ne leur ressemblez donc pas, car votre Père sait de quoi vous avez besoin, avant que vous le lui demandiez.
Be ye not lyke them therfore. For youre father knoweth wherof ye haue neade before ye axe of him.
9 C’est ainsi donc que vous prierez: Notre Père, qui êtes dans les cieux, que votre nom soit sanctifié.
After thys maner therfore praye ye. O oure father which arte in heve halowed be thy name.
10 Que votre règne arrive. Que votre volonté soit faite sur la terre comme au ciel.
Let thy kyngdome come. Thy wyll be fulfilled as well in erth as it ys in heven.
11 Donnez-nous aujourd’hui le pain nécessaire à notre subsistance.
Geve vs this daye oure dayly breede.
12 Et remettez-nous nos dettes comme nous les remettons nous-mêmes à ceux qui nous doivent.
And forgeve vs oure treaspases eve as we forgeve oure trespacers.
13 Et ne nous induisez pas en tentation, mais délivrez-nous du mal. Ainsi soit-il.
And leade vs not into teptacion: but delyver vs fro evell. For thyne is ye kyngedome and ye power and ye glorye for ever. Amen.
14 Car si vous remettez aux hommes leurs offenses, votre Père céleste vous remettra à vous aussi vos péchés.
For and yf ye shall forgeve other men their treaspases youre hevenly father shall also forgeve you.
15 Mais si vous ne les remettez point aux hommes, votre Père céleste ne vous remettra point non plus vos péchés.
But and ye wyll not forgeve men their trespases nomore shall youre father forgeve youre treaspases.
16 Lorsque vous jeûnez, ne vous montrez pas tristes comme les hypocrites: car ils exténuent leur visage, pour que leurs jeûnes paraissent devant les hommes. En vérité, je vous dis qu’ils ont reçu leur récompense.
Moreoure when ye faste be not sad as ye ypocrytes are. For they disfigure their faces that they myght be sene of me how they faste. Verely I say vnto you they have their rewarde.
17 Pour toi, quand tu jeûnes, parfume ta tête et lave ton visage;
But thou whe thou fastest annoynte thyne heed and washe thy face
18 Afin que tu n’apparaisses pas aux hommes jeûnant, mais à ton Père qui est présent à ce qui est secret; et ton Père, qui voit dans le secret, te le rendra.
that it appere not vnto men howe that thou fastest: but vnto thy father which is in secrete: and thy father which seeth in secret shall rewarde the openly.
19 Ne vous amassez point de trésors sur la terre, où la rouille et les vers rongent, et où les voleurs fouillent et dérobent.
Se that ye gaddre you not treasure vpon ye erth where rust and mothes corrupte and where theves breake through and steale.
20 Mais amassez-vous des trésors dans le ciel, où ni la rouille ni les vers ne rongent, et où les voleurs ne fouillent ni ne dérobent.
But gaddre ye treasure togeder in heve where nether rust nor mothes corrupte and where theves nether breake vp nor yet steale.
21 Où en effet est ton trésor, là est aussi ton cœur.
For where soever youre treasure ys there will youre hertes be also.
22 La lampe de ton corps est ton œil. Si ton œil est simple, tout ton corps sera lumineux.
The light of the body is thyne eye. Wher fore if thyne eye besyngle all thy body shalbe full of light.
23 Mais si ton œil est mauvais, tout ton corps sera ténébreux. Si donc la lumière qui est en toi est ténèbres, les ténèbres elles-mêmes que seront-elles?
But and if thyne eye be wycked then all thy body shalbe full of derckenes. Wherfore yf the light that is in the be darckenes: how greate is that darckenes.
24 Nul ne peut servir deux maîtres; car ou il haïra l’un et aimera l’autre, ou il s’attachera à l’un et méprisera l’autre. Vous ne pouvez servir Dieu et l’argent.
No ma can serve two masters. For ether he shall hate the one and love the other: or els he shall lene to ye one and despise ye other: ye can not serve God and mammon.
25 C’est pourquoi je vous dis: Ne vous inquiétez point pour votre vie de ce que vous mangerez, ni pour votre corps de quoi vous vous vêtirez. La vie n’est-elle pas plus que la nourriture, et le corps plus que le vêtement?
Therfore I saye vnto you be not carefull for your lyfe what ye shall eate or what ye shall drincke nor yet for youre body what ye shall put on. ys not ye lyfe more worth then meate and the body more of value then raymeut?
26 Regardez les oiseaux du ciel; ils ne sèment ni ne moissonnent, ni n’amassent dans des greniers, et votre Père céleste les nourrit; n’êtes-vous pas beaucoup plus qu’eux?
Beholde the foules of ye ayer: for they sowe not nether reepe nor yet cary into ye barnes: and yet youre hevely father fedeth the. Are ye not moche better the they?
27 Qui de vous, en s’inquiétant ainsi, peut ajouter à sa taille une seule coudée?
Which of you (though he toke thought therfore) coulde put one cubit vnto his stature?
28 Et quant au vêtement, pourquoi vous inquiétez-vous? Voyez les lis des champs; comme ils croissent; ils ne travaillent ni ne filent.
And why care ye then for raymet? Considre ye lylies of ye felde how they growe. They labour not nether spynne.
29 Or je vous dis que Salomon même dans toute sa gloire n’a jamais été vêtu comme l’un d’eux.
And yet for all yt I saye vnto you yt eue Salomon in all his royalte was not arayed lyke vnto one of these.
30 Que si l’herbe des champs qui est aujourd’hui et qui demain est jetée dans le four, Dieu la vêtit ainsi, combien plus vous, hommes de peu de foi!
Wherfore yf God so clothe the grasse which ys to daye in the felde and to morowe shalbe caste in to the fournace: shall he not moche more do the same vnto you o ye of lytle fayth?
31 Ne vous inquiétez donc point, disant: Que mangerons-nous, ou que boirons-nous, ou de quoi nous vêtirons-nous?
Therfore take no thought sayinge: what shall we eate or what shall we drincke or wherwt shall we be clothed?
32 Car ce sont toutes choses que les païens recherchent; mais votre Père sait que vous en avez besoin.
After all these thynges seke the getyls. For youre hevely father knoweth that ye have neade of all these thynges.
33 Cherchez donc premièrement le royaume de Dieu et sa justice, et toutes ces choses vous seront données par surcroît.
But rather seke ye fyrst the kyngdome of heuen and the rightwisnes therof and all these thynges shalbe ministred vnto you.
34 Ainsi ne soyez point inquiets pour le lendemain. Le jour de demain, en effet, sera inquiet pour lui-même; à chaque jour suffit son mal.
Care not then for the morow but let ye morow care for it selfe: for the daye present hath ever ynough of his awne trouble.
