Marc 6
1 Étant parti de là, il s’en alla dans son pays, et ses disciples le suivirent.
And he went forth from thence, and cometh into his own city, —and his disciples follow him.
2 Or un jour de sabbat étant venu, il commença à enseigner dans la synagogue, et beaucoup, l’entendant, étaient dans l’admiration de sa doctrine, disant: D’où lui viennent toutes ces choses? quelle est cette sagesse qui lui a été donnée? et ces merveilles si surprenantes qui se font par ses mains?
And, when it was Sabbath, he began to be teaching in the synagogue, and, the greater part, as they heard, were being struck with astonishment, saying—Whence hath this man these things?—and—What the wisdom which hath been given to this man?—and—Such mighty works as these, through his hands, are coming to pass!
3 N’est-ce pas là ce charpentier, fils de Marie, frère de Jacques et de Joseph, de Jude et de Simon? et ses sœurs ne sont-elles pas ici parmi nous? Et ils se scandalisaient de lui.
Is not, this, the carpenter? the son of Mary, the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?—and they were finding cause of stumbling in him.
4 Mais Jésus leur disait: Un prophète n’est sans honneur que dans sa patrie, dans sa maison et dans sa famille.
And Jesus was saying unto them—A prophet is not without honour, save in his own city and among his kinsfolk, and in his house;
5 Et il ne put faire là aucun miracle, si ce n’est qu’il guérit quelques malades en leur imposant les mains.
and he could not, there, do so much as a single mighty work, —save, on a few sick, he laid his hands and cured them.
6 Et il s’étonnait de leur incrédulité; il parcourait toutefois les villages d’alentour et il y enseignait.
And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he was going round the villages in a circuit, teaching.
7 Or il appela les douze et commença à les envoyer deux à deux, et il leur donna puissance sur les esprits impurs.
And he calleth near the twelve, and began to be sending them forth two and two, —and was giving them authority over the impure spirits:
8 Et il leur commanda de ne rien prendre pour le chemin qu’un bâton: ni sac, ni pain, ni argent dans leur ceinture;
and charged them that they should take, nothing, for a journey, save a staff only, —no bread, no satchel, no copper, for the belt;
9 Mais de chausser leurs sandales et de ne point se munir de deux tuniques.
but having bound on light sandals, and not to put on, two tunics;
10 Et il leur dit: Quelque part que vous alliez, étant entrés dans une maison, demeurez-y jusqu’à ce que vous sortiez de ce lieu-là.
and he was saying unto them—Wheresoever ye shall enter into a house, there, abide, until ye go forth from thence;
11 Et quant à ceux qui ne vous recevront point et ne vous écouteront point, lorsque vous sortirez de là, secouez la poussière de vos pieds en témoignage contre eux.
And, whatsoever place shall not welcome you nor hearken unto you, when ye are going forth from thence, shake off the dust that is under you feet, for a witness against them.
12 Etant donc partis, ils prêchaient qu’on fît pénitence;
And they went forth and made proclamation, in order that men should repent;
13 Chassaient beaucoup de démons, oignaient d’huile beaucoup de malades et les guérissaient.
and, many demons, were they casting out, —and were anointing with oil, many sick, and were curing them.
14 Or le roi Hérode entendit parler de Jésus (car son nom s’était répandu), et il disait: Jean-Baptiste est ressuscité d’entre les morts, et c’est pour cela que des miracles s’opèrent par lui.
And King Herod heard, —for, famous, had become his name; and he was saying—John the Immerser hath arisen from among the dead, and, for this cause, are the powers working mightily in him;
15 Mais d’autres disaient: C’est Élie. Et d’autres: C’est un prophète, semblable à un des prophètes.
But, others, were saying—It is Elijah, and, others were saying—A prophet, like one of the prophets!
16 Ce qu’ayant entendu, Hérode dit: Ce Jean que j’ai décapité est ressuscité d’entre les morts,
But, when Herod heard, he was saying—He whom I beheaded—John, the same, hath been raised.
17 Car Hérode lui-même avait envoyé prendre Jean, et l’avait retenu, chargé de fers, en prison, à cause d’Hérodiade, qu’il avait épousée, quoique femme de Philippe, son frère.
For, Herod himself, had sent and secured John and bound him in prison, for the sake of Herodias the wife of Philip his brother, —for, her, had he married,
18 Parce que Jean disait à Hérode: Il ne t’est pas permis d’avoir la femme de ton frère.
For John had been saying to Herod—It is not allowed thee, to have, the wife of thy brother.
19 Or Hérodiade lui tendait des pièges, et voulait le faire périr; mais elle ne le pouvait pas.
And, Herodias, was cherishing [a grudge] against him, and wishing, to slay him, —and could not;
20 Hérode, en effet, craignait Jean, sachant que c’était un homme juste et saint; il le protégeait, faisait beaucoup de choses d’après ses avis, et l’écoutait volontiers.
for, Herod, stood in fear of John, knowing him to be a man righteous and holy, —and was keeping him safe; and, when he heard him, he paid earnest heed, and, with pleasure, used to listen to him.
21 Mais un jour opportun arriva, le jour de la naissance d’Hérode, où il fit un festin aux grands de sa cour, et aux tribuns, et aux principaux de la Galilée.
And, an opportune day arriving, when Herod on his birthday made a feast for his nobles, and for the rulers of thousands and for the first men of Galilee,
22 Or la fille d’Hérodiade même étant entrée, et ayant dansé et plu à Hérode, et à ceux qui étaient à table avec lui, le roi dit à la jeune fille: Demandez ce que vous voudrez, et je vous le donnerai.
when the daughter of this very Herodias came in and danced, she pleased Herod and those reclining together, and, the king, said unto the damsel—Ask me what thou wilt, and I will give it thee;
23 Et il lui jura, disant: Tout ce que vous demanderez je vous le donnerai, fût-ce la moitié de mon royaume.
and he took an oath to her—Whatsoever thou shalt ask me, I will give thee, unto half my kingdom.
24 Lorsqu’elle fut sortie, elle dit à sa mère: Que demanderai-je? Et sa mère répondit: La tête de Jean-Baptiste.
And, going out, she said unto her mother—What shall I ask? and she said—The head of John the Immerser;
25 Aussitôt s’étant rendue en grande hâte près du roi, elle fit sa demande, disant: Je veux que vous me donniez à l’instant, dans un bassin, la tête de Jean-Baptiste.
And, coming in straightway, with hast, unto the king, she asked, saying—I desire, that, forthwith, thou give me, upon a charger, the head of John the Immerser.
26 Le roi fut contristé; cependant, à cause de son serment, et à cause de ceux qui étaient à table avec lui, il ne voulut pas la contrarier.
And, though the king was, very grieved, yet, by reason of the oaths, and of them who were reclining, he would not refuse her.
27 Aussi ayant envoyé un de ses gardes, il lui ordonna d’apporter la tête de Jean dans un bassin. Et le garde le décapita dans la prison;
And the king, straightway, sending off a guard, gave orders to bring his head.
28 Et apportant sa tête dans un bassin, il la donna à la jeune fille, et la jeune fille la donna à sa mère.
And, departing, he beheaded him in the prison, and brought his head upon a charger, and gave it unto the damsel—and, the damsel, gave it unto her mother.
29 Ce qu’ayant appris, ses disciples vinrent, prirent son corps, et le déposèrent dans un tombeau.
And, hearing of it, his disciples went and took away his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.
30 Or les apôtres s’étant rassemblés auprès de Jésus, lui rendirent compte de tout ce qu’ils avaient fait et enseigné.
And the apostles gather themselves together unto Jesus, and reported unto him all things, as many as they had done, and as many as they had taught.
31 Et il leur dit: Venez à l’écart en un lieu désert, et vous vous reposerez un peu. Car ceux qui allaient et venaient étaient si nombreux, qu’ils n’avaient pas même le temps de manger.
And he saith unto them—Come, ye yourselves, apart, into a desert place, and rest yourselves a little. For they who were coming and they who were going were many, and, not even to eat, were they finding fitting opportunity.
32 Ainsi, montant dans la barque, ils se retirèrent à l’écart, dans un lieu désert.
And they departed, in the boat, into a desert place, apart.
33 Mais beaucoup de gens les ayant vus partir et ayant connu leur dessein, y accoururent à pied de toutes les villes, et y arrivèrent avant eux.
And many saw them going away, and took note of it, and, afoot, from all the cities, ran they together thither, —and outwent them.
34 Ainsi, en débarquant, Jésus vit une grande multitude, et il en eut compassion, parce qu’ils étaient comme des brebis qui n’ont point de pasteurs, et il commença à leur enseigner beaucoup de choses.
And, coming forth, he saw, a great multitude, and was moved with compassion towards them, because they were like sheep having no shepherd, and he began to be teaching them many things.
35 Et comme déjà l’heure était fort avancée, ses disciples s’approchèrent, disant: Ce lieu est désert et il est déjà tard;
And, already, a late hour, having arrived, his disciples came unto him and were saying, A desert, is the place, and it is, already, a late hour:
36 Renvoyez-les afin qu’ils aillent dans les villages et les bourgs voisins acheter de quoi manger.
dismiss them, that, departing into the surrounding hamlets and villages, they may buy themselves something to eat.
37 Mais leur répondant, il dit: Donnez-leur vous mêmes à manger. Et ils lui repartirent: Irons-nous donc acheter pour deux cents deniers de pain afin de leur donner à manger?
But, he, answering said to them—Ye, give them, to eat. And they say unto him—Shall we depart and buy two hundred denaries’ worth of loaves, and give them to eat?
38 Alors il leur demanda: Combien avez vous de pains? Allez et voyez. Et lorsqu’ils eurent regardé, ils dirent: Cinq pains et deux poissons.
And, he, saith unto them—How many loaves, have ye? Go, see! And, getting to know, they say—Five, and, two fishes.
39 Il leur commanda donc de les faire tous asseoir par groupes sur l’herbe verte.
And he gave them orders, that all should be made recline, in parties, upon, the green grass.
40 Et ils s’assirent par groupes de cent et de cinquante.
And they fell back, in companies, by hundreds and by fifties.
41 Alors il prit les cinq pains et les deux poissons, et, levant les yeux au ciel, il les bénit; puis il rompit les pains, et les donna à ses disciples pour les mettre devant la multitude, et il partagea les deux poissons entre tous.
And, taking the five loaves, and the two fishes, looking up into heaven, he blessed, and brake up the loaves, and began giving unto the disciples, that they might set before them, and, the two fishes, divided he, unto all.
42 Ils en mangèrent, et ils furent rassasiés.
And they did all eat, and were filled.
43 Et ses disciples emportèrent les restes, douze paniers pleins de morceaux et une partie des poissons.
And they took up broken pieces, twelve baskets, full measure, and from the fishes.
44 Or ceux qui mangèrent étaient au nombre de cinq mille hommes.
And they who did eat the loaves were, five thousand men.
45 Et aussitôt il fit monter ses disciples dans la barque, pour le précéder de l’autre côté de la mer, à Bethsaïde, pendant que lui-même renverrait le peuple.
And, straightway, constrained he his disciples to enter into the boat, and be going forward to the other side, unto Bethsaida, —while, he, was dismissing the multitude.
46 Et après qu’il l’eut renvoyé, il s’en alla sur la montagne pour prier.
And, bidding them farewell, he departed into the mountain to pray.
47 Lorsqu’il fut soir, la barque se trouvait au milieu de la mer, et Jésus seul à terre.
And, when, evening, came, the boat was in the midst of the sea, and, he alone, on the land.
48 Et voyant ses disciples qui se fatiguaient à ramer (car le vent leur était contraire), vers la quatrième veille de la nuit, il vint à eux, marchant sur la mer; et il voulait les devancer.
And, seeing them distressed in the rowing, for the wind was against them, about the fourth watch of the night, he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, —and was wishing to pass by them.
49 Mais eux, dès qu’ils l’aperçurent marchant sur la mer, crurent que c’était un fantôme, et jetèrent un grand cri.
But, they, seeing him, upon the sea, walking, supposed that it was an apparition, and cried out aloud;
50 Car tous le virent, et ils furent épouvantés. Mais aussitôt il leur parla, et leur dit: Rassurez-vous, c’est moi; ne craignez point.
for, all, saw him, and were troubled. But, he, straightway, talked with them, and saith unto them—Take courage! it is, I—be not afraid!
51 Et il monta avec eux dans la barque, et le vent cessa, et leur stupeur en devint plus grande:
And he went up unto them, into the boat, —and the wind lulled. And, exceedingly, within themselves, were they astonished;
52 Car il n’avaient pas compris ce qui s’était fait à l’égard des pains, parce que leur cœur était aveuglé.
for they understood not by the loaves, —but their, heart, had been, hardened.
53 Et, après avoir traversé la mer, ils vinrent vers la terre de Génézareth et y abordèrent.
And crossing over unto the land, they came unto Gennesaret, and cast anchor near.
54 Et dès qu’ils furent sortis de la barque, les gens du pays reconnurent Jésus.
And, when they had, come forth, out of the boat, straightway, recognizing him,
55 Et parcourant toute la contrée, ils commencèrent à lui apporter de tous côtés, dans leurs grabats, les malades, là où ils entendaient dire qu’il était.
the people ran round the whole of that country, and began to be carrying round, upon couches, them who were sick, wherever they heard that he was.
56 Et partout où il entrait, dans les bourgs, dans les villages ou dans les villes, on mettait les malades sur les places publiques, et on le suppliait de les laisser seulement toucher la frange de son vêtement; et tous ceux qui le touchaient étaient guéris.
And, wheresoever he was entering into villages, or into cities, or into hamlets, in the marketplaces, laid they the sick, and were beseeching him, that, only the fringe of his mantle, they might touch, and, as many soever as touched it, were being made well.
