Marc 4
1 Il commença de nouveau à enseigner auprès de la mer; et une grande multitude se rassembla autour de lui, de sorte que, montant dans la barque, il se tenait sur la mer, et toute la multitude était à terre le long du rivage.
And He began to teach again by the sea-side, and there was gathered unto Him a great multitude; so that He went into a ship, and sat on board, and all the people were by the sea, upon the shore.
2 Et il leur enseignait beaucoup de choses en paraboles, et leur disait dans son enseignement:
And He taught them many things by similitudes, and said to them in his instruction,
3 Ecoutez, voilà que celui qui sème est sorti pour semer.
hearken, Behold a sower went out to sow:
4 Et, pendant qu’il semait, une partie de la semence tomba le long du chemin, et les oiseaux du ciel vinrent, et la mangèrent.
and in sowing, some fell by the way-side, and the birds came and ate it up:
5 Une autre partie tomba en des endroits pierreux, où elle n’eut pas beaucoup de terre; et elle leva bientôt, parce que la terre n’avait pas de profondeur;
and some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth, and it sprang up immediately, because it had not depth of earth;
6 Et quand le soleil se leva, elle fut brûlée; et comme elle n’avait point de racine, elle sécha.
but when the sun rose, it was burnt up, and withered because it had no root:
7 Une autre partie tomba parmi les épines; et les épines grandirent et l’étouffèrent: et elle ne donna point de fruit.
and some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no fruit:
8 Mais une autre tomba dans une bonne terre, et donna du fruit qui s’éleva et se multiplia; en sorte qu’un grain rendait trente, l’autre soixante, l’autre cent.
and other fell on good ground, and yielded fruit springing up and increasing; and produced some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred-fold.
9 Et il disait: Que celui qui a des oreilles pour entendre, entende.
And He said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
10 Mais, lorsqu’il fut loin de la foule, les douze qui étaient avec lui l’interrogèrent sur cette parabole.
And when He was apart from the multitude, those that were about Him with the twelve asked Him concerning the parable.
11 Et il leur disait: C’est à vous qu’il a été donné de connaître le mystère du royaume de Dieu; mais pour ceux qui sont dehors, tout se fait en paraboles,
And he said unto them, To you it is granted to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but unto them that are without all things are delivered in parables:
12 Afin que voyant ils voient et ne voient point, et qu’entendant ils entendent et ne comprennent point; de peur qu’ils ne se convertissent, et que leurs péchés ne leur soient remis.
that in seeing they may see and not perceive, and in hearing they may hear and not understand, least they should be converted, and their sins be forgiven them.
13 Puis il leur dit: Vous ne comprenez point cette parabole? Et comment donc comprendrez-vous toutes les autres paraboles?
Then saith He unto them, Do ye not understand this parable? how then will ye understand all my other parables.
14 Celui qui sème, sème la parole.
The sower is he that soweth the word. And these are they by the way-side:
15 Ceux qui se trouvent le long du chemin où la parole est semée, ce sont ceux qui ne l’ont pas plutôt entendue, que Satan vient et enlève cette parole qui a été semée dans leurs cœurs.
where the word is sown; but when they have heard it, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
16 Et pareillement ceux qui ont reçu la semence en des endroits pierreux, sont ceux qui, entendant la parole, la reçoivent d’abord avec joie;
And in like manner, they that are sown as on stony grounds are such, as when they hear the word,
17 Mais n’ayant point de racine en eux, ils n’ont qu’un temps; après quoi la tribulation et la persécution survenant à cause de la parole, ils se scandalisent aussitôt.
immediately receive it with joy, but have no root in themselves, and so continue but for a short season: and then, when affliction cometh, or persecution on account of the word, they are as soon offended.
18 Et les autres qui reçoivent la semence parmi les épines, sont ceux qui écoutent la parole;
And those that are sown as among thorns, are these: such as hear the word indeed,
19 Mais les soucis du siècle et l’illusion des richesses, et toutes les autres convoitises entrant en eux, étouffent la parole et la rendent sans fruit. (aiōn g165)
but the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and inordinate desires after other things entering in choke the word, and so it becometh unfruitful. (aiōn g165)
20 Enfin ceux qui ont reçu la semence dans la bonne terre, sont ceux qui écoutent la parole et la reçoivent, et produisent du fruit, l’un trente, l’autre soixante, et l’autre cent.
And these are they who are like seed sown on good ground: such as hear the word, and receive it; and bring forth fruit, some thirty-fold, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
21 Il leur disait aussi: Apporte-t-on la lampe pour la mettre sous le boisseau ou sous le lit? N’est-ce pas pour la mettre sur le chandelier?
And He said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or a bed, and not to be set on a candlestick?
22 Car il n’y a rien de caché qui ne soit manifesté, ni rien de fait en secret qui ne vienne au grand jour.
for there is nothing hidden, which may not be revealed; nor was there any thing concealed, but in order to become manifest.
23 Si quelqu’un a des oreilles pour entendre, qu’il entende.
If any one hath ears to hear, let him hear.
24 Il leur disait encore: Prenez garde à ce que vous entendez. La mesure dont vous aurez usé pour les autres, on en usera pour vous, et en y ajoutant.
And mind what ye hear: for with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you; and more shall be imparted to you that are observant:
25 Car on donnera à celui qui a; et celui qui n’a pas, même ce qu’il a lui sera ôté.
for whosoever hath, to him more shall be given; and he that hath not, even what he hath, or seemeth to have, shall be taken from him.
26 Il disait aussi: Il en est du royaume de Dieu comme d’un homme qui jette de la semence en terre.
And He said, The kingdom of God is as if a man should cast seed into the ground,
27 Qu’il dorme, qu’il se lève de nuit et de jour, la semence germe et croît sans qu’il sache comment.
and sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring up, and increase; he knows not how.
28 Car c’est d’elle-même que la terre produit du fruit; d’abord de l’herbe, puis un épi, et ensuite du blé tout formé dans l’épi.
For the earth produces fruit of itself, first the blade, then the ear, then the full corn in the ear:
29 Et quand le fruit est en maturité, aussitôt on y met la faux, parce que c’est le temps de la moisson.
but when the fruit is ripe, he immediately puts in the sickle, because the harvest is come.
30 Il disait encore: À quoi comparerons-nous le royaume de Dieu? ou sous quelle parabole le représenterons-nous?
And He said, To what shall we compare the kingdom of God, or by what similitude shall we represent it?
31 Il est comme un grain de sénevé qui, lorsqu’on le sème, est la plus petite de toutes les semences qui sont dans la terre.
It is like to a grain of mustard-seed, which when it is sown in the ground, is one of the lest of all the seeds on the earth:
32 Et quand on l’a semé, il monte et devient plus grand que toutes les plantes, et pousse de si grands rameaux, que les oiseaux du ciel peuvent se reposer sous son ombre.
but after it is sown, it grows up, and becomes greater than all herbs, and produces large branches, so that the birds of the air may lodge under it's shadow.
33 Ainsi, c’est par beaucoup de semblables paraboles qu’il leur annonçait la parole, selon qu’ils pouvaient l’entendre
And in many such parables spake He the word to them, as they had ability to hear it: but spake not to them without a parable.
34 Car il ne leur parlait point sans paraboles; mais en particulier il expliquait tout à ses disciples.
And He explained all to his disciples in private.
35 Or il leur dit ce jour-là, lorsque le soir fut venu: Passons à l’autre bord.
And the same day, in the evening, He saith to them, Let us go over to the other side.
36 Et ayant renvoyé le peuple, ils l’emmenèrent sur la barque où il était; et d’autres barques l’accompagnaient.
So they dismissed the multitude, and took Him as He was in the ship. But there were other small vessels likewise with Him.
37 Mais il s’éleva un grand tourbillon de vent, qui poussait les flots dans la barque, de sorte que la barque s’emplissait.
And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now almost full.
38 Jésus cependant était à la poupe, dormant sur un oreiller; et ils le réveillèrent et lui dirent: Maître, n’avez-vous point de souci que nous périssions?
And He was in the stern asleep on a pillow: and they awake Him, and say unto Him, Master, art thou under no concern that we are perishing?
39 Alors se levant, il menaça le vent, et dit à la mer: Silence, calme-toi. Et le vent cessa, et il se fit un grand calme.
And He rose and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still; and the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
40 Et il leur dit: Pourquoi êtes-vous timides? N’avez-vous point encore la foi? Et ils furent saisis d’une grande crainte, et ils se disaient l’un à l’autre: Qui pensez-vous est celui-ci, que et le vent et la mer lui obéissent?
And He said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how! have ye no faith?
And they were exceedingly afraid, and said to one another, Who is this? that even the wind and the sea obey Him?
