Marc 10
1 Partant de là, il vint aux confins de la Judée, au-delà du Jourdain; et le peuple s’assembla de nouveau près de lui, et, selon sa coutume, il recommença à les instruire.
Jesus left that place and went to the region of Judea and to the area beyond the Jordan River, and the crowds came to him again. He was teaching them again, as he was accustomed to do.
2 Et les pharisiens s’approchant, lui demandèrent s’il est permis à un homme de renvoyer sa femme; c’était pour le tenter.
Then Pharisees came to him to test him and asked, “Is it lawful for a husband to divorce his wife?”
3 Mais Jésus répondant, leur dit: Que vous a ordonné Moïse?
He answered, “What did Moses command you?”
4 Ils répliquèrent: Moïse a permis d’écrire un acte de répudiation, et de la renvoyer.
They said, “Moses allowed a man to write a certificate of divorce and then to send her away.”
5 Jésus leur répondant, dit: C’est à cause de la dureté de votre cœur, qu’il vous a écrit ce précepte.
“It was because of your hard hearts that he wrote you this law,” Jesus said to them.
6 Mais au commencement de la création, Dieu fit un homme et une femme.
“But from the beginning of creation, 'God made them male and female.'
7 C’est pourquoi l’homme quittera son père et sa mère, et s’attachera à sa femme;
'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,
8 Et ils seront deux dans une seule chair. Ainsi ils ne sont plus deux, mais une seule chair.
and the two shall become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one flesh.
9 Ce que Dieu donc a uni, que l’homme ne le sépare point.
Therefore what God has joined together, let no man tear apart.”
10 Dans la maison, ses disciples l’interrogèrent encore sur le même sujet.
When they were in the house, the disciples asked him again about this.
11 Et il leur dit: Quiconque renvoie sa femme et en épouse une autre, commet un adultère à l’égard de celle-là.
He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her.
12 Et si une femme quitte son mari et en épouse un autre, elle se rend adultère.
If she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.”
13 Cependant on lui présentait de petits enfants pour qu’il les touchât. Mais ses disciples menaçaient ceux qui les présentaient.
Then they brought their little children to him so that he might touch them, but the disciples rebuked them.
14 Jésus, les voyant, fut indigné, et leur dit: Laissez ces petits enfants venir à moi, et ne les en empêchez point; car à de tels est le royaume de Dieu.
But when Jesus noticed it, he was very displeased and said to them, “Permit the little children to come to me, and do not forbid them, for the kingdom of God belongs to those who are like them.
15 En vérité, je vous le dis: Quiconque n’aura point reçu le royaume de Dieu comme un petit enfant, n’y entrera point.
Truly I say to you, whoever will not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will definitely not enter it.”
16 Et les embrassant et imposant les mains sur eux, il les bénissait.
Then he took the children into his arms and blessed them as he placed his hands on them.
17 Comme il se mettait en chemin, quelqu’un accourant et fléchissant le genou, lui demanda: Bon maître, que ferai-je pour avoir la vie éternelle? (aiōnios g166)
When he began his journey, a man ran up to him and knelt before him, and asked, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” (aiōnios g166)
18 Jésus lui répondit: Pourquoi m’appelles-tu bon? Nul n’est bon, que Dieu seul.
Jesus said, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.
19 Tu connais les commandements: Ne commets point d’adultère; ne tue point; ne dérobe point; ne rends point de faux témoignage; ne fais point de fraude; honore ton père et ta, mère.
You know the commandments: 'Do not kill, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not testify falsely, do not defraud, honor your father and mother'.”
20 Mais le jeune homme reprenant la parole, lui dit: Maître, j’ai observé tous ces préceptes dès ma jeunesse.
The man said, “Teacher, all these things I have obeyed from the time I was a youth.”
21 Jésus, l’ayant regardé, l’aima, et lui dit: Une seule chose te manque; va, vends tout ce que tu as, donne-le aux pauvres, et tu auras un trésor dans le ciel: puis viens et suis-moi.
Jesus looked at him and loved him. He said to him, “One thing you lack. You must sell all that you have and give it to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
22 Mais, affligé de cette parole, il s’en alla triste, car il avait de grands biens.
But because of this statement he looked very sad and he went away distressed, because he had many possessions.
23 Alors Jésus regardant autour de lui, dit à ses disciples: Qu’il est difficile que ceux qui ont des richesses entrent dans le royaume de Dieu!
Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How difficult it is for those who are rich to enter the kingdom of God!”
24 Or ses disciples étaient tout étonnés de ce discours; mais Jésus prenant de nouveau la parole, leur dit: Mes enfants bien-aimés, qu’il est difficile à ceux qui se confient dans les richesses, d’entrer dans le royaume de Dieu!
The disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus said to them again, “Children, how hard it is to enter into the kingdom of God!
25 Il est plus facile à un chameau de passer par le chas d’une aiguille, qu’à un riche d’entrer dans le royaume de Dieu.
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”
26 Et ils demeuraient encore plus étonnés, se disant l’un à l’autre: Et qui peut donc être sauvé?
They were greatly astonished and said to each other, “Then who can be saved?”
27 Mais Jésus les regardant, dit: Aux hommes, cela est impossible, mais non pas à Dieu; car tout est possible à Dieu.
Jesus looked at them and said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”
28 Alors Pierre se mit à lui dire: Voici que nous avons, nous, tout quitté pour vous suivre;
Peter began to speak to him, “Look, we have left everything and have followed you.”
29 Jésus répondant, dit: En vérité, je vous le dis, nul n’aura quitté maison, ou frères, ou sœurs, ou père, ou mère, ou fils, ou terres à cause de moi et à cause de l’Evangile,
Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or mother, or father, or children, or lands, for my sake, and for the gospel,
31 Mais beaucoup de premiers seront les derniers, et beaucoup de derniers, les premiers.
But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”
32 Or ils étaient en chemin pour monter à Jérusalem; Jésus marchait devant eux, et ils en étaient tout étonnés, et ils le suivaient pleins de crainte. Et prenant encore à part les douze, il commença à leur dire ce qui devait lui arriver.
They were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was going ahead of them. The disciples were amazed, and those who were following behind were afraid. Then Jesus took the twelve aside again and began to tell them what would soon happen to him.
33 Voilà que nous montons à Jérusalem, et le Fils de l’homme sera livré aux princes des prêtres, aux scribes et aux anciens; ils le condamneront à mort, et le livreront aux gentils;
“See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes. They will condemn him to death and deliver him to the Gentiles.
34 Et ils l’insulteront, cracheront sur lui, le flagelleront, et le tueront; et le troisième jour il ressuscitera.
They will mock him, spit on him, whip him, and put him to death. But after three days he will rise.”
35 Alors s’approchèrent de lui Jacques et Jean, fils de Zébédée, disant: Maître, nous voudrions que tout ce que nous vous demanderons, vous le fissiez pour nous.
James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came up to him and said, “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask you.”
36 Mais il leur répondit: Que voulez-vous que je fasse pour vous?
He said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?”
37 Et ils dirent: Accordez-nous que nous soyons assis l’un à votre droite et l’autre à votre gauche, dans votre gloire,
They said, “Allow us to sit with you in your glory, one at your right hand and the other at your left.”
38 Mais Jésus leur dit: Vous ne savez ce que vous demandez: pouvez-vous boire le calice que je bois, ou être baptisés du baptême dont je suis baptisé?
But Jesus replied to them, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup which I will drink or endure the baptism with which I will be baptized?”
39 Ils lui répondirent: Nous le pouvons. Mais Jésus leur dit: À la vérité, le calice que je bois, vous le boirez, et vous serez baptisés du baptême dont je suis baptisé;
They said to him, “We are able.” Jesus said to them, “The cup that I will drink, you will drink, and with the baptism with which I am baptized, you also will be baptized.
40 Mais d’être assis à ma droite ou à ma gauche, il ne m’appartient pas de vous l’accorder à vous, mais à ceux à qui il a été préparé.
But who is to sit at my right hand or at my left hand is not mine to give, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared.”
41 Or, entendant cela, les dix s’indignèrent contre Jacques et Jean.
When the other ten disciples heard about this, they began to be very angry with James and John.
42 Mais Jésus les appelant, dit: Vous savez que ceux qui passent pour régner sur les nations, les dominent, et que leurs princes ont puissance sur elles.
Jesus called them to himself and said, “You know those who are considered rulers of the Gentiles dominate them, and their high officials exercise authority over them.
43 Il n’en est pas ainsi parmi vous; mais quiconque voudra devenir le plus grand, sera votre serviteur;
But it shall not be this way among you. Whoever wishes to become great among you must be your servant,
44 Et quiconque voudra être le premier parmi vous, sera le serviteur de tous.
and whoever wishes to be first among you must be the slave of all.
45 Car le Fils de l’homme même n’est pas venu pour être servi, mais pour servir, et donner sa vie pour la rédemption d’un grand nombre.
For the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
46 Ils vinrent ensuite à Jéricho; et comme il partait de Jéricho avec ses disciples et avec une grande multitude, le fils de Timée, Bartimée l’aveugle, qui était assis sur le bord du chemin, demandant l’aumône,
They came to Jericho. As he left Jericho with his disciples and a great crowd, the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, sat by the road.
47 Ayant entendu que c’était Jésus de Nazareth, se mit à crier, disant: Jésus, fils de David, ayez pitié de moi!
When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to shout and to say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
48 Nombre de personnes le menaçaient pour le faire taire; mais lui criait beaucoup plus encore: Fils de David, ayez pitié de moi!
Many rebuked the blind man, telling him to be quiet. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
49 Alors Jésus, s’arrêtant, ordonna qu’on l’appelât. On appela donc l’aveugle en lui disant: Aie confiance, lève-toi, il t’appelle.
Jesus stopped and commanded him to be called. They called the blind man, saying, “Be brave! Get up! He is calling for you.”
50 Celui-ci, jetant son manteau, s’élança et vint à Jésus.
He threw aside his coat, sprang up, and came to Jesus.
51 Et Jésus lui demanda: Que veux-tu que je te fasse? L’aveugle lui répondit: Maître, que je voie.
Jesus answered him and said, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to receive my sight.”
52 Va, lui dit Jésus, ta foi t’a guéri. Et aussitôt il vit, et il le suivait dans le chemin.
Then Jesus said to him, “Go. Your faith has healed you.” Immediately he could see again, and he followed him on the road.
