Luc 9
1 Jésus, ayant appelé les douze apôtres, leur donna vertu et puissance sur tous les démons, et le pouvoir de guérir les maladies.
AND Jeshu called his twelve, and gave them power and authority over all demons and diseases, to heal.
2 C’est ainsi qu’il les envoya prêcher le royaume de Dieu, et rendre la santé aux malades.
And he sent them to proclaim the kingdom of Aloha, and to heal the diseased.
3 Et il leur dit: Ne portez rien en route, ni bâton, ni sac, ni pain, ni argent, et n’ayez point deux tuniques
And he said to them, Take nothing for the way, neither staff, nor bag, nor bread, nor silver; nor two tunics shall you have.
4 En quelque maison que vous entriez, demeurez-y, et n’en sortez point.
And into whatever house you enter, there be, and from thence go forth.
5 Quant à ceux, quels qu’ils soient, qui ne vous recevront point, secouez, en sortant de leur ville, la poussière même de vos pieds en témoignage pour eux.
And whoever will not receive you, when you depart from that city the dust also from your feet shake off as a testimony against them.
6 Etant donc partis, ils parcouraient les villages, évangélisant et guérissant en tout lieu.
And the apostles went forth and itinerated in the villages and the cities, and evangelized and healed in every place.
7 Cependant Hérode, le tétrarque, entendit parler de tout ce que faisait Jésus, et il ne savait que penser, parce qu’il était dit
But Herodes, Tetrarka, heard all that was done by his hand, and was astonished; for men said that Juchanon had risen from the house of the dead.
8 Par quelques-uns: Jean est ressuscité d’entre les morts, par quelques autres: Elie est apparu; et par d’autres: Un des anciens prophètes est ressuscité.
But others said that Elia had appeared, and others that a prophet from the former prophets had risen.
9 Ainsi Hérode dit: J’ai décapité Jean; quel est donc celui-ci, de qui j’entends dire moi-même de telles choses? Et il cherchait à le voir.
And Herodes said, The head of Juchanon I have cut off; but who is this of whom I hear these (things)? And he willed to see him.
10 Les apôtres étant revenus, racontèrent à Jésus tout ce qu’ils avaient fait; et les prenant avec lui, il se retira à l’écart dans un lieu désert, qui appartient à Bethsaïde.
And when the apostles returned, they showed Jeshu all that they had done. And he took them by themselves to a desert place of Bethtsaida.
11 Lorsque le peuple l’eut appris, il le suivit; et Jésus les accueillit, et il leur parlait du royaume de Dieu, et il rendait la santé à ceux qui avaient besoin d’être guéris.
But the multitudes, when they knew it, went after him, and he received them, and discoursed to them concerning the kingdom of Aloha. And those who had need of healing he healed.
12 Cependant le jour commençait à baisser; et les douze s’approchant, lui dirent: Renvoyez le peuple, afin qu’il aille dans les bourgs et dans les villages d’alentour, pour y loger et trouver de la nourriture; car ici nous sommes en un lieu désert.
BUT when the day began to decline, the disciples drew near and said to him, Send away the multitudes, that they may go to the villages and hamlets that are around, to lodge in them and to find for themselves victuals, because we are in a desert place.
13 Mais il leur dit: Donnez leur vous-mêmes à manger. Ils lui répondirent: Nous n’avons pas plus de cinq pains et deux poissons, à moins que nous n’allions nous-mêmes acheter des vivres pour toute cette multitude.
Jeshu said to them, Give you them to eat. But they said, We have nothing more than five loaves and two fishes, unless we go and buy food for all this people:
14 Or ils étaient environ cinq mille hommes. Jésus dit alors à ses disciples: Faites-les asseoir par groupes de cinquante.
for they were about five thousand men. Jeshu said to them, Make them recline in reclining companies, fifty men in a company.
15 Et ils firent ainsi: ils les firent tous asseoir.
And the disciples did so. And they all reclined.
16 Jésus ayant donc pris les cinq pains et les deux poissons, leva les yeux au ciel, et les bénit; puis il les rompit, et les donna à ses disciples, pour les servir aux groupes.
And Jeshu took those five loaves and two fishes, and looked up to heaven and blessed and brake and gave to his disciples, that they should set before the multitude.
17 Et tous mangèrent et furent rassasiés. Et on emporta, de ce qui leur resta, douze corbeilles de morceaux.
And all did eat and were filled. And they took up fragments which abounded, twelve baskets.
18 Or il arriva que comme il priait seul, n’ayant avec lui que ses disciples, il les interrogea, disant: Qui dit-on que je suis?
AND as he was praying alone, and his disciples with him, he asked them and said, What say concerning me the multitude, that I am?
19 Ils lui répondirent et dirent: Jean-Baptiste; d’autres. Elie; d’autres, un des anciens prophètes qui est ressuscité.
They answered and say to him, Juchanon the Baptizer; and others that (thou art) Elia; but others that a prophet from the former prophets hath arisen.
20 Et vous, leur dit-il, qui dites-vous que je suis? Simon Pierre répondant, dit: Le Christ de Dieu.
He saith to them, But what do you say that I am? Shemun answered and said, The Meshicha of Aloha!
21 Mais il leur défendit, avec menace, de le dire à personne,
But he forbade them and cautioned them that this they should tell no man.
22 Ajoutant: Il faut que le Fils de l’homme souffre beaucoup, qu’il soit rejeté par les anciens, par les princes des prêtres et par les scribes, qu’il soit mis à mort, et qu’il ressuscite le troisième jour.
And he told them how it was to be (that) he the Son of man should suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and Sophree, and (that) they would kill him; and that on the third day he would arise.
23 Il disait encore à tous: Si quelqu’un veut venir après moi, qu’il renonce à lui-même, et porte sa croix chaque jour, et me suive.
And he said before all, Whoever willeth to come after me, must deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and come after me.
24 Car celui qui voudra sauver son âme, la perdra; et qui perdra son âme à cause de moi, la sauvera.
For whoever willeth to save his life, loseth it; but whoever (is willing) to lose his life, for my sake, he saveth it.
25 Et que sert à l’homme de gagner le monde entier à son détriment et en se perdant lui-même?
For what is helped a son of man, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his soul, or perish?
26 Car qui aura rougi de moi et de mes paroles, le Fils de l’homme rougira de lui, lorsqu’il viendra dans sa majesté et dans celle du Père et des saints anges.
For whoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, the Son of man will be ashamed of him, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
27 Et je vous le dis en vérité: Il y en a quelques-uns ici présents qui ne goûteront point de la mort qu’ils n’aient vu le royaume de Dieu.
THE truth I say to you, that some who are standing here shall not taste death, until they have seen the kingdom of Aloha.
28 Or, il arriva, environ huit jours après qu’il eut dit ces paroles, qu’il prit Pierre, Jacques, et Jean, et monta sur la montagne pour prier.
And it was after these words about eight days, that Jeshu took Shemun and Jakub and Juchanon, and went up into a mountain to pray.
29 Et, pendant qu’il priait, l’aspect de sa face devint tout autre, et son vêtement d’une éclatante blancheur.
And while he prayed, the appearance of his countenance was changed, and his garments became white and shone.
30 Et voilà que deux hommes s’entretenaient avec lui. Or c’était Moïse et Elie,
And, behold, two men talked with him, who were Musha and Elia,
31 Paraissant en grande majesté; et ils parlaient de sa fin, qui devait s’accomplir à Jérusalem.
who appeared in glory; but they spake concerning his going forth which should be accomplished at Urishlem.
32 Cependant Pierre et ceux qui se trouvaient avec lui, étaient appesantis par le sommeil; et se réveillant, ils virent sa gloire, et les deux hommes qui étaient avec lui.
And Shemun, and they who were with him, had been heavy with sleep, and were scarcely awaked when they saw his glory and those two men who stood with him.
33 Et il arriva que lorsqu’ils le quittèrent, Pierre dit à Jésus: Maître, il nous est bon d’être ici; faisons trois tentes, une pour vous, une pour Moïse, et une pour Elie; ne sachant ce qu’il disait.
And when they began to depart from him, Shemun said to Jeshu, Rabi, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; for thee one, and for Musha one, and for Elia one. But he knew not what he said.
34 Comme il parlait ainsi, il se forma une nuée qui les enveloppa de son ombre; et les disciples furent saisis de frayeur en les voyant entrer dans la nuée.
And as he spoke these (words) there was a cloud which shadowed over them, and they feared when they saw that Musha and Elia entered into the cloud. i
35 Et une voix vint de la nuée, disant: Celui-ci est mon Fils bien-aimé; écoutez-le.
And the voice was from the cloud, saying, This is my Son, the Beloved, Him hear.
36 Et pendant que la voix parlait, Jésus se trouva seul. Mais gardant eux-mêmes le silence, ils ne dirent à personne, en ces jours-là, rien de ce qu’ils avaient vu.
And when the voice had been, Jeshu was found alone. And they were silent, and told no man in those days what they had seen.
37 Il arriva que le jour suivant, comme ils descendaient de la montagne, une foule nombreuse vint au-devant d’eux.
AND the day after when they had descended from the mountain, a great multitude met them.
38 Et voilà que de la foule un homme s’écria, disant: Maître, je vous supplie, jetez un regard sur mon fils; car c’est le seul que j’aie.
And a certain man from the multitude cried and said, Malphona, I beseech thee, turn unto me; (there is) my son, my only one,
39 Et voilà qu’un esprit se saisit de lui, et aussitôt il crie, puis l’esprit le brise contre terre, le déchire en le faisant écumer, et à peine le quitte-t-il après l’avoir tout déchiré;
and a spirit passeth upon him, and he suddenly crieth, and gnasheth his teeth, and lacerateth, and hardly removeth from him when he hath bruised him.
40 J’ai prié vos disciples de le chasser, et ils ne l’ont pu.
And I besought thy disciples to cast him out, but they could not.
41 Jésus répondant, dit: ô race infidèle et perverse, jusqu’à quand serai-je avec vous, et vous supporterai-je? Amène ici ton fils.
Then Jeshu answered and said, Ah generation unbelieving and perverse! how long shall I be with you and bear with you? Bring thy son hither.
42 Et comme il approchait, le démon le brisa contre terre et le déchira.
And as they brought him near, the devil cast him down and bruised him: and Jeshu rebuked that unclean spirit and healed the youth and gave him to his father.
43 Alors Jésus gourmanda l’esprit impur, guérit l’enfant, et le rendit à son père.
And they all wondered at the majesty of Aloha. And while every one wondered at all which Jeshu did, he said to his disciples,
44 Et tous étaient fort étonnés de la grandeur de Dieu; et comme ils admiraient tout ce que faisait Jésus, il dit à ses disciples: Mettez, vous autres, ces paroles dans vos cœurs: Il arrivera que le Fils de l’homme sera livré entre les mains des hommes.
Treasure these words in your ears; for the Son of man is to be delivered into the hands of men.
45 Mais eux n’entendaient pas cette parole; elle était voilée pour eux, de sorte qu’ils ne la comprenaient point; et ils craignaient de l’interroger sur cette parole.
But they understood not that saying, because it was hidden from them that they should not know it: and they feared to ask of him concerning that saying.
46 Or une pensée leur vint à l’esprit, lequel d’entre eux était le plus grand?
And there entered among them the thought, Who should be greatest among them?
47 Mais Jésus, voyant les pensées de leur cœur, prit un enfant, le plaça près de lui,
But Jeshu knew the thought of their heart; and he took a child and made him stand with him.
48 Et leur dit: Quiconque recevra cet enfant en mon nom, me reçoit; et quiconque me reçoit, reçoit celui qui m’a envoyé. Car celui qui est le plus petit entre vous tous, celui-là est le plus grand.
And he said to them, Every one who receiveth a child like this in my name, receiveth me. And whosoever receiveth me, he receiveth Him who sent me. For he who is least among you, he shall be greatest.
49 Alors prenant la parole, Jean dit: Maître, nous avons vu un homme qui chasse les démons en votre nom, et nous l’en avons empêché, parce qu’il ne vous suit pas avec nous.
And Juchanon answered and said, Raban, we saw a man who was casting out demons in thy name, and we forbade him, because he came not with us after thee.
50 Et Jésus lui dit: Ne l’en empêchez point; car qui n’est point contre vous est pour vous.
Jeshu saith to them, Forbid him not; for he who is not against us, he is for us.
51 Or, il arriva que, quand les jours de son ascension s’accomplissaient, il fixa son visage pour aller à Jérusalem.
AND it was that when the days were fulfilled for his Assumption, he directed his face to go to Urishlem.
52 Il envoya donc devant lui des messagers, qui, étant partis, entrèrent dans une ville des Samaritains, pour lui préparer un logement;
And he sent messengers before his face, and they went and entered into a village of the Shomroyee, so as to prepare for him.
53 Mais il ne fut pas reçu, parce que son visage était celui de quelqu’un allant à Jérusalem.
And they would not receive him, because his face unto Urishlem was set to go.
54 Ce qu’ayant vu, ses disciples Jacques et Jean dirent: Seigneur, voulez-vous que nous disions que le feu descende du ciel, et les consume?
And when Jacub and Juchanon his disciples saw it, they say to him, Maran, art thou willing that we call fire to descend from heaven to consume them, as Elia did?
55 Mais se tournant, il les gourmanda, disant: Vous ne savez pas de quel esprit vous êtes.
But he turned and reproved them, and said, You know not of what spirit you are: for the Son of man is not come to destroy lives, but to save.
56 Le Fils de l’homme n’est pas venu perdre les âmes, mais les sauver. Et ils s’en allèrent dans un autre village.
And they went to another village.
57 Et il arriva, comme ils étaient en chemin, que quelqu’un lui dit: Je vous suivrai partout où vous irez.
And while they went in the way, a certain man said to him, I will follow thee to the place whither thou goest, my Lord.
58 Jésus lui dit: Les renards ont des tanières, et les oiseaux du ciel des nids; mais le Fils de l’homme n’a pas où reposer la tête.
Jeshu saith to him, The foxes have holes and the fowls of the heaven a shadow, but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
59 Mais il dit à un autre: Suis-moi. Celui-ci répondit: Seigneur, permettez-moi d’aller d’abord, et d’ensevelir mon père.
And he said to another, Come after me. But he said to him, My Lord, permit me first to go bury my father.
60 Et Jésus lui dit: Laisse les morts ensevelir leurs morts; pour toi, va, et annonce le royaume de Dieu.
Jeshu said to him, Leave the dead burying their dead; and thou, go and preach the kingdom of Aloha.
61 Un autre dit: Je vous suivrai. Seigneur; mais permettez-moi d’abord de renoncer à ce qui est dans ma maison.
And another said to him, I will come after thee, my Lord, but first permit me to go to salute the sons of my house, and I will come.
62 Jésus lui répondit: Quiconque ayant mis la main à la charrue, regarde en arrière, n’est pas propre au royaume de Dieu.
Jeshu saith to him, No man putting his hand upon the coulter of the yoke, and looking behind him, is fit for the kingdom of Aloha.
