Luc 20
1 Or il arriva qu’un de ces jours-là, comme il enseignait le peuple dans le temple, et qu’il annonçait l’Evangile, les princes des prêtres et les scribes y vinrent avec les anciens,
And yt fortuned in one of those dayes as he taught the people in the temple and preached the gospell: the hye prestes and the scribes came with the elders
2 Et lui adressèrent la parole en disant: Dis-nous par quelle autorité tu fais ces choses? ou: Qui est celui qui t’a donné ce pouvoir?
and spake vnto him sayinge. Tell vs by what auctorite thou doest these thinges? Ether who is he yt gave ye this auctorite?
3 Et Jésus répondant, leur dit: Je vous interrogerai, moi aussi, mais sur une seule chose. Répondez-moi.
He answered and saide vnto the: I also will axe you a questio and answer me.
4 Le baptême de Jean était-il du ciel ou des hommes?
The baptyme of Iohn: was it from heaven or of men?
5 Mais ils pensaient en eux-mêmes, disant: Si nous répondons: Du ciel, il dira: Pourquoi donc n’y avez-vous point cru?
And they thought with in them selves sayinge: yf we shall saye from heave: he will saye: why then beleved ye him not?
6 Et si nous répondons: Des hommes, tout le peuple nous lapidera, car ils tiennent pour certain que Jean était prophète.
But and yf we shall saye of men all ye people will stone vs. For they be persuaded that Ihon is a Prophet.
7 Ils répondirent donc qu’ils ne savaient d’où il était.
And they answered that they coulde not tell whence it was.
8 Et Jésus leur dit: Ni moi, je ne vous dis pas non plus par quelle autorité je fais ces choses.
And Iesus sayde vnto them: nether tell I you by what auctorite I do these thinges.
9 Alors il se mit à dire au peuple cette parabole: Un homme planta une vigne, et la loua à des vignerons, et lui-même fut longtemps en voyage.
Then begane he to put forthe to the people this similitude. A certayne man planted a vyneyarde and let it forthe to fermers and went him selfe into a straunge countre for a greate season.
10 Et dans la saison, il envoya un de ses serviteurs aux vignerons, pour qu’ils lui donnassent du fruit de la vigne. Mais eux, après l’avoir déchiré de coups, le renvoyèrent les mains vides.
And when the tyme was come he sent a servaut to his tennauntes that they shuld geve him of the frutes of the vyneyarde. And the tennauntes dyd bet him and sent him awaye empty.
11 Il envoya encore un autre serviteur. Mais eux, l’ayant aussi déchiré de coups et chargé d’outrages, ils le renvoyèrent les mains vides.
And agayne he sent yet another servaunt. And they dyd bet him and foule entreated him also and sent him awaye emptye.
12 Enfin il en envoya un troisième; les vignerons le blessèrent aussi et le jetèrent dehors.
Moreover he sent the thyrde to and him they wouded and cast out.
13 Alors le maître de la vigne dit: Que ferai-je? J’enverrai mon fils bien-aimé; peut être que lorsqu’ils le verront, ils le respecteront.
Then sayde the lorde of the vyneyarde: what shall I do? I will sende my deare sonne him peradventure they will reverence when they se him.
14 Mais les vignerons l’ayant vu, pensèrent en eux-mêmes, disant: Celui-ci est l’héritier, tuons-le, afin que nôtre devienne l’héritage.
But when the fermers sawe him they thought in them selves sayinge: this is the heyre come let vs kyll him that the inheritaunce maye be oures.
15 Et l’ayant jeté hors de la vigne, ils le tuèrent. Que leur fera donc le maître de la vigne?
And they cast him out of the vyneyarde and kylled him. Now what shall the Lorde of the vyneyarde do vnto them?
16 Il viendra, et perdra ces vignerons, et donnera la vigne à d’autres. Ce qu’ayant entendu, ils lui dirent: À Dieu ne plaise!
He will come and destroye those fermers and will let out his vyneyarde to other. When they hearde that they sayde: God forbyd.
17 Mais Jésus les regardant dit: Qu’est-ce donc que ce qui est écrit: La pierre qu’ont rejetée ceux qui bâtissaient est devenue un sommet d’angle?
And he behelde them and sayde: what meaneth this then yt is wrytten: The stone that the bylders refused the same is made ye heed corner stone?
18 Quiconque tombera sur cette pierre sera brisé, et celui sur qui elle tombera, elle le réduira en poudre.
whosoever stomble at that stone shalbe broken: but on whosoever it faul vpon it wyll grynde him to powder.
19 Et les princes des prêtres et les scribes cherchaient à mettre la main sur lui en cette heure-là, mais ils craignirent le peuple; ils avaient compris que c’étaient à eux qu’il avait appliqué cette parabole.
And the hye Prestes and the Scribes the same howre went about to laye hondes on him but they feared the people. For they perceaved that he had spoken this similitude agaynst them.
20 Et, l’épiant, ils envoyèrent des gens qui feignaient d’être justes, pour lui tendre des embûches et le surprendre dans ses paroles, afin de le livrer au magistrat et au pouvoir du gouverneur.
And they watched him and sent forth spies which shuld fayne them selves perfecte to take him in his wordes and to delyvre him vnto the power and auctorite of the debite.
21 Ainsi ils l’interrogèrent disant: Maître, nous savons que vous parlez et enseignez avec droiture; que vous ne faites acception de personne, mais que vous enseignez la voix de Dieu dans la vérité:
And they axed him sayinge: Master we knowe that thou sayest and teachest ryght nother cosiderest thou eny manes degre but teachest the waye of God truly.
22 Nous est-il permis de payer le tribut à César, ou non?
Ys it laufull for vs to geve Cesar tribute or no?
23 Considérant leur ruse, il leur dit: Pourquoi me tentez-vous?
He perceaved their craftynes and sayde vnto them: why tept ye me?
24 Montrez-moi un denier. De qui porte-t-il l’image et l’inscription? Ils lui répondirent: De César.
Shewe me a peny. Whose ymage and superscripcio hath it? They answered and sayde: Cesars.
25 Et il leur dit: Rendez donc à César ce qui est à César, et à Dieu ce qui est à Dieu.
And he sayde vnto them: Geve then vnto Cesar that which belongeth vnto Cesar: and to God that which pertayneth to God.
26 Et ils ne purent reprendre aucune de ses paroles devant le peuple; mais ils admirèrent sa réponse, et se turent.
And they coulde not reprove his sayinge before the people. But they marvayled at his answer and helde their peace.
27 Quelques-uns des sadducéens, qui nient qu’il y ait une résurrection, s’approchèrent alors et l’interrogèrent;
Then came to him certayne of the Saduces which denye that ther is eny resurreccio. And they axed him
28 Disant: Maître, Moïse a écrit pour nous: Si le frère de quelqu’un meurt, ayant une femme, mais étant sans enfants, que son frère prenne sa femme et suscite une postérité à son frère.
sayinge: Master Moses wrote vnto vs if eny mannes brother dye havinge a wyfe and the same dye with out yssue: that then his brother shuld take his wyfe and reyse vp seede vnto his brother.
29 Or il y avait sept frères; et le premier prit une femme, et mourut sans enfants.
Ther were seven brethren and the fyrste toke a wyfe and dyed with out children.
30 Le suivant prit la femme, et mourut lui-même sans enfants.
And the seconde toke the wyfe and he dyed chyldlesse.
31 Et le troisième la prit; et pareillement tous les sept, et ils n’ont point laissé de postérité, et ils sont morts.
And the thyrde toke her and in lyke wyse the resydue of the seven and leeft no chyldren be hynde them and dyed.
32 Enfin, après eux tous, est morte aussi la femme.
Last of all the woma dyed also.
33 À la résurrection donc, duquel sera-t-elle femme, puisque les sept l’ont eue pour femme?
Now at the resurreccio whose wyfe of them shall she be? For seven had her to wyfe.
Iesus answered and sayde vnto them. The chyldre of this worlde mary wyves and are maryed (aiōn g165)
35 Mais ceux qui seront trouvés dignes du siècle à venir et de la résurrection des morts, ne se marieront point et n’épouseront point de femmes; (aiōn g165)
but they which shalbe made worthy to enioye that worlde and the resurreccion from deeth nether mary wyves nether are maryed (aiōn g165)
36 Car ils ne pourront plus mourir; parce qu’ils sont égaux aux anges, et fils de Dieu, étant fils de la résurrection.
nor yet can dye eny moare. For they are equall vnto the angels: and are the sonnes of God in as moche as they are the chyldre of the resurreccion.
37 Or que les morts ressuscitent, Moïse le montre à l’endroit du buisson, quand il appelle le Seigneur, le Dieu d’Abraham, le Dieu d’Isaac et le Dieu de Jacob.
And that the deed shall ryse agayne even Moses signified besydes the busshe when he sayde: the Lorde God of Adraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Iacob.
38 Or Dieu n’est point le Dieu des morts, mais des vivants; car tous vivent pour lui.
For he is not the God of the deed but of them which live. For all live in him.
39 Quelques-uns des scribes, prenant la parole, lui dirent: Maître, vous avez bien dit.
Then certayne of the Pharises answered and sayde: Master thou hast well sayde.
40 Et on n’osait plus lui faire aucune question.
And after that durst they not axe him eny question at all.
41 Mais il leur demanda: Comment dit-on que le Christ est fils de David?
Then sayde he vnto them: how saye they that Christ is Davids sonne?
42 Puisque David lui-même dit dans le livre des Psaumes: Le Seigneur a dit à mon Seigneur: Asseyez-vous à ma droite,
And David him selfe sayth in the boke of the Psalmes: The Lorde sayde vnto my Lorde syt on my right honde
43 Jusqu’à ce que je fasse de vos ennemis l’escabeau de vos pieds.
tyll I make thine enemys thy fothe stole.
44 Ainsi David l’appelle son Seigneur; comment donc est-il son fils?
Seinge David calleth him Lorde: How is he then his sonne.
45 Or tout le peuple l’écoutant, il dit à ses disciples:
Then in the audience of all the people he sayde vnto his disciples
46 Gardez-vous des scribes, qui se plaisent à se promener avec de longues robes, aiment les salutations dans les places publiques, les premiers sièges dans les synagogues, et les premières places dans les festins;
beware of the Scribes which desyre to goo in longe clothinge: and love gretynges in the markets and the hyest seates in the synagoges and chefe roumes at feastes
47 Qui dévorent les maisons des veuves sous prétexte de longues prières. Ceux-ci subiront une condamnation plus rigoureuse.
which devoure widdowes houses and that vnder a coloure of longe prayinge: the same shall receave greater damnacion.
