Luc 13
1 En ce même temps, quelques-uns vinrent lui annoncer ce qui s’était passé touchant les Galiléens, dont Pilate avait mêlé le sang à leurs sacrifices.
And there were some present at that time, telling Him about the Galileans, whose blood Pilate mingled with their sacrifices;
2 Et Jésus répondant, leur dit: Pensez-vous que ces Galiléens fussent plus pécheurs que tous les autres Galiléens, parce qu’ils ont souffert de telles choses?
and Jesus answering said to them, “Do you think that these Galileans became sinners beyond all the Galileans, because they have suffered such things?
3 Non, je vous le dis: mais si vous ne faites pénitence, vous périrez tous de la même manière.
No—I say to you, but if you may not convert, even so will all you perish.
4 Comme ces dix-huit sur qui tomba la tour de Siloé, et qu’elle tua, croyez-vous qu’ils fussent plus redevables que tous les autres habitants de Jérusalem?
Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them, do you think that these became debtors beyond all men who are dwelling in Jerusalem?
5 Non, je vous le dis: mais si vous ne faites pénitence, vous périrez tous de la même manière.
No—I say to you, but if you may not convert, all you will perish in like manner.”
6 Il leur disait encore cette parabole: Un homme avait un figuier planté dans sa vigne, et il vint y chercher du fruit, et n’en trouva point.
And He spoke this allegory: “A certain one had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit in it, and he did not find;
7 Alors il dit au vigneron: Voilà trois ans que je viens chercher du fruit à ce figuier, et je n’en trouve point: coupe-le donc; pourquoi occupe-t-il encore la terre?
and he said to the vinedresser, Behold, three years I come seeking fruit in this fig tree, and do not find [it], cut it off, why does it also render the ground useless?
8 Mais le vigneron répondant, lui dit: Seigneur, laissez-le encore cette année; jusqu’à ce que je creuse tout autour, et que j’y mette du fumier:
And he answering says to him, Lord, permit it also this year, until I may dig around it, and cast in dung;
9 Peut-être qu’il portera ainsi du fruit; sinon vous le couperez.
and if indeed it may bear fruit—and if not so, thereafter you will cut it off.”
10 Or Jésus enseignait dans leur synagogue les jours du sabbat.
And He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath,
11 Et voici venir une femme qui avait un esprit d’infirmité depuis dix-huit ans; et elle était courbée et ne pouvait aucunement regarder en haut.
and behold, there was a woman having a spirit of disability [for] eighteen years, and she was bent together, and not able to bend back at all,
12 Jésus, la voyant, l’appela et lui dit: Femme, vous êtes délivrée de votre infirmité.
and Jesus having seen her, called [her] near and said to her, “Woman, you have been loosed from your disability”;
13 Et il lui imposa les mains, et aussitôt elle se redressa, et elle glorifiait Dieu.
and He laid on her [His] hands, and immediately she was set upright, and was glorifying God.
14 Or le chef de la synagogue prit la parole, s’indignant de ce que Jésus l’eût guérie pendant le sabbat; et il dit au peuple: Il y a six jours pendant lesquels on doit travailler; venez donc ces jours-là vous faire guérir, et non pas le jour du sabbat.
And the chief of the synagogue answering—much displeased that on the Sabbath Jesus healed—said to the multitude, “Six days there are in which it is necessary to be working; in these, then, coming, be healed, and not on the day of the Sabbath.”
15 Mais le Seigneur, lui répondant, dit: Hypocrites, chacun de vous ne délie-t-il pas son bœuf ou son âne de la crèche le jour du sabbat, pour les mener boire?
Then the LORD answered him and said, “Hypocrite, do not each of you loose his ox or donkey from the stall on the Sabbath, and having led [it] away, water [it]?
16 Et cette fille d’Abraham que Satan a liée, voici dix-huit ans, ne fallait-il pas qu’elle fût délivrée de ses liens le jour du sabbat?
And this one, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan bound eighteen years, behold, did [she] not ought to be loosed from this bond on the day of the Sabbath?”
17 Lorsqu’il parlait ainsi, tous ses adversaires étaient couverts de confusion, et tout le peuple se réjouissait de toutes les choses qu’il faisait avec tant d’éclat.
And He saying these things, all who were opposed to Him were being ashamed, and all the multitude were rejoicing over all the glorious things that are being done by Him.
18 Il disait donc: À quoi est semblable le royaume de Dieu, et à quoi le comparerai-je?
And He said, “To what is the Kingdom of God like? And to what will I liken it?
19 Il est semblable à un grain de sénevé qu’un homme prit et jeta dans son jardin; il crût, devint un grand arbre, et les oiseaux du ciel se reposèrent sur ses branches.
It is like to a grain of mustard, which a man having taken, cast into his garden, and it increased, and came to a great tree, and the birds of the heavens rested in its branches.”
20 Et il dit encore: À quoi comparerai-je le royaume de Dieu?
And again He said, “To what will I liken the Kingdom of God?
21 Il est semblable à du levain qu’une femme prend et mêle dans trois mesures de farine, jusqu’à ce que tout soit fermenté.
It is like leaven, which a woman, having taken, hid in three measures of meal, until all was leavened.”
22 Et il allait par les villes et par les villages, enseignant, et faisant son chemin vers Jérusalem.
And He was going through cities and villages, teaching, and making progress toward Jerusalem;
23 Or quelqu’un lui demanda: Seigneur, y en a-t-il peu qui soient sauvés? Il leur répondit:
and a certain one said to Him, “Lord, are those saved few?” And He said to them,
24 Efforcez-vous d’entrer par la porte étroite; car beaucoup, je vous le dis, chercheront à entrer, et ne le pourront pas.
“Be striving to go in through the straight gate, because many, I say to you, will seek to go in, and will not be able;
25 Lorsque le père de famille sera entré et aura fermé la porte, vous commencerez par vous tenir dehors et par frapper à la porte, disant: Seigneur, ouvrez-nous; et vous répondant, il vous dira: Je ne sais d’où vous êtes.
from the time the Master of the house may have risen up, and may have shut the door, and you may begin to stand outside, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us, and He answering will say to you, I have not known you from where you are,
26 Alors vous commencerez à dire: Nous avons mangé et bu devant vous, et vous avez enseigné dans nos places publiques.
then you may begin to say, We ate before You, and drank, and You taught in our broad places;
27 Et il vous dira: Je ne sais d’où vous êtes; retirez-vous de moi, vous tous, ouvriers d’iniquité.
and He will say, I say to you, I have not known you from where you are; depart from Me, all you workers of the unrighteousness.
28 Là sera le pleur et le grincement de dents, quand vous verrez Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, et tous les prophètes dans le royaume de Dieu, et vous, chassés dehors.
There will be there the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth when you may see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the Kingdom of God, and yourselves being cast outside;
29 Il en viendra de l’orient, et de l’occident, et de l’aquilon, et du midi, et ils auront place au festin dans le royaume de Dieu.
and they will come from east and west, and from north and south, and will recline in the Kingdom of God,
30 Et ce sont les derniers qui seront les premiers, et ce sont les premiers qui seront les derniers.
and behold, there are last who will be first, and there are first who will be last.”
31 Ce même jour, quelques-uns des pharisiens s’approchèrent, disant: Allez-vous-en, retirez-vous d’ici; car Hérode veut vous faire mourir.
On that day there came near certain Pharisees, saying to Him, “Go forth, and be going on from here, for Herod wishes to kill You”;
32 Et il leur dit: Allez, et dites à ce renard: Voilà que je chasse les démons et guéris les malades aujourd’hui et demain, et c’est le troisième jour que je dois être consommé.
and He said to them, “Having gone, say to that fox, Behold, I cast forth demons, and perfect cures today and tomorrow, and the third [day] I am being perfected;
33 Cependant il faut que je marche aujourd’hui et demain, et le jour suivant; parce qu’il ne peut se faire qu’un prophète périsse hors de Jérusalem.
but it is necessary for Me today, and tomorrow, and the [day] following, to go on, because it is not possible for a prophet to perish out of Jerusalem.
34 Jérusalem, Jérusalem, qui tues les prophètes, et qui lapides ceux qui te sont envoyés, combien de fois ai-je voulu rassembler tes enfants, comme un oiseau rassemble sa couvée sous ses ailes, et tu ne l’as point voulu?
Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that is killing the prophets, and stoning those sent to her, how often I willed to gather together your children, as a hen [gathers] her brood under the wings, and you did not will.
35 Voici que votre maison vous sera laissée déserte. Je vous le dis, vous ne me verrez plus, jusqu’à ce qu’il arrive que vous disiez: Béni celui qui vient au nom du Seigneur!
Behold, your house is being left to you desolate, and truly I say to you, you may not see Me, until it may come when you may say, Blessed [is] He who is coming in the Name of the LORD.”
