Lévitique 19
1 Le Seigneur parla à Moïse, disant:
The Lord spak to Moises, and seide,
2 Parle à toute l’assemblée des enfants d’Israël, et tu leur diras: Soyez saints, parce que je suis saint, moi, le Seigneur votre Dieu.
Speke thou to al the cumpenye of the sones of Israel, and thou schalt seie to hem, Be ye hooli, for Y am hooli, youre Lord God.
3 Que chacun craigne son père et sa mère. Gardez mes sabbats. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
Ech man drede his fadir and his modir. Kepe ye my sabatis; Y am youre Lord God.
4 Ne vous tournez point vers les idoles, et ne vous faites point de dieux de fonte. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
Nyle ye be turned to ydols, nether ye schulen make to you yotun goddis; Y am youre Lord God.
5 Si vous immolez une hostie de sacrifices pacifiques au Seigneur, afin qu’il se laisse fléchir,
If ye offren a sacrifice of pesible thingis to the Lord, that it be quemeful,
6 Au même jour qu’elle aura été immolée, vous la mangerez, et au jour suivant; mais ce qui sera de reste au troisième jour, vous le brûlerez au feu.
ye schulen ete it in that day, in which it is offrid, and in the tother dai; sotheli what euer thing is residue in to the thridde dai, ye schulen brenne in fier.
7 Si quelqu’un en mange après deux jours, il sera profane et coupable d’impiété;
If ony man etith therof aftir twei daes, he schal be vnhooli, and gilti of vnfeithfulnes `ether wickidnesse; and he schal bere his wickidnesse,
8 Et il portera son iniquité, parce qu’il a souillé la chose sainte du Seigneur, et cette âme périra du milieu de son peuple.
for he defoulide the hooli thing of the Lord, and his soule schal perische fro his puple.
9 Lorsque tu moissonneras les blés de la terre, tu ne couperas point jusqu’au sol, ce qui sera à la superficie de la terre, et tu ne ramasseras point les épis restants.
Whanne thou schalt repe the fruytis of thi lond, thou schalt not kitte `til to the ground the corn of the lond, nether thou schalt gadere the eeris of corn that ben left;
10 Et, dans ta vigne, tu ne cueilleras point les grappes et les grains qui tombent, mais tu les laisseras recueillir aux pauvres et aux étrangers. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
nethir in thi vyner thou schalt gadere reysyns and greynes fallynge doun, but thou schalt leeue to be gaderid of pore men and pilgryms; Y am youre Lord God.
11 Vous ne ferez point de vol, vous ne mentirez point, et nul ne trompera son prochain.
Ye schulen not do thefte. Ye schulen not lye, and no man disseyue his neiybour.
12 Tu ne feras point de faux serment en mon nom, et tu ne souilleras point le nom de ton Dieu. Je suis le Seigneur.
Thou schalt not forswere in my name, nethir thou schalt defoule the name of thi God; Y am the Lord.
13 Tu ne calomnieras point ton prochain, tu ne l’opprimeras point par la violence. Le travail de ton mercenaire ne demeurera point chez toi jusqu’au matin.
Thou schalt not make fals chalenge to thi neiybore, nethir thou schalt oppresse hym bi violence. The werk of thin hirid man schal not dwelle at thee til the morewtid.
14 Tu ne maudiras point le sourd, et devant l’aveugle, tu ne mettras pas de pierre d’achoppement; mais tu craindras le Seigneur ton Dieu, parce que c’est moi qui suis le Seigneur.
Thou schalt not curse a deef man, nether thou schalt sette an hurtyng bifor a blynd man; but thou schalt drede thi Lord God, for Y am the Lord.
15 Tu ne feras point ce qui est inique, et tu ne jugeras point injustement. Ne considère point la personne du pauvre, et n’honore point le visage de l’homme puissant. Juge justement ton prochain.
Thou schalt not do that, that is wickid, nether thou schalt deme vniustli; biholde thou not the persoone of a pore man, nethir onoure thou the face of a myyti man; deme thou iustli to thi neiybore.
16 Tu ne seras point accusateur, ni médisant parmi le peuple. Tu ne t’élèveras point contre le sang de ton prochain. Je suis le Seigneur.
Thou schalt not be a sclaunderere, nether a priuey bacbitere in the puplis; thou schalt not stonde ayens the blood of thi neiybore; Y am the Lord.
17 Ne hais point ton frère en ton cœur, mais reprends-le publiquement, afin que tu n’aies pas de péché à son sujet.
Thou schalt not hate thi brothir in thin herte, but repreue hym opynly, lest thou haue synne on hym.
18 Ne cherche point la vengeance, et tu ne te souviendras pas de l’injure de tes concitoyens. Tu aimeras ton ami comme toi-même. Je suis le Seigneur.
Thou schalt not seke veniaunce, nether thou schalt be myndeful of the wrong of thi cyteseyns; thou schalt loue thi freend as thi silf; Y am the Lord.
19 Gardez mes lois. Tu n’accoupleras point la bête de somme avec des animaux d’une autre espèce. Tu ne sèmeras point ton champ de diverse semence. Tu ne te vêtiras point d’un vêtement qui est tissu de fils différents.
Kepe ye my lawis. Thou schalt not make thi beestis to gendre with the lyuynge beestis of another kynde. Thou schalt not sowe the feeld with dyuerse sede. Thou schalt not be clothid in a cloth, which is wouun of twei thingis.
20 Si un homme dort avec une femme, qui soit servante, même nubile, mais non rachetée à prix d’argent, ni mise en liberté, ils seront battus tous deux, et ils ne mourront point, parce qu’elle n’était pas libre.
If a man slepith with a womman by fleischly knowyng of seed, which womman is an `hand maide, ye, a noble womman of kyn, and netheles is not ayenbouyt bi prijs, nethir rewardid with fredom, bothe schulen be betun, and thei schulen not die, for sche was not fre.
21 Mais pour son défit, l’homme offrira au Seigneur à la porte du tabernacle de témoignage un bélier;
Sotheli the man for his trespas schal offre a ram to the Lord, at the dore of the tabernacle of witnessyng;
22 Et le prêtre priera pour lui et pour son péché devant le Seigneur; et il lui redeviendra propice, et son péché sera remis.
and the preest schal preye for hym, and for his trespas, bifor the Lord; and the Lord schal be merciful to hym, and the synne schal be foryouun.
23 Quand vous serez entrés dans la terre, et que vous y aurez planté des arbres fruitiers, vous les émonderez: les fruits qu’ils produisent vous seront impurs, et vous n’en mangerez point.
Whanne ye han entrid in to the lond of biheest, and han plauntid therynne appil trees, ye schulen do awei the firste flouris; the applis whiche tho trees bryngen forth, schulen be vncleene to you, nethir ye schulen ete of tho.
24 Mais à la quatrième année tout leur fruit sera consacré au Seigneur au milieu des louanges.
Forsothe in the fourthe yeer al the fruyt of tho trees schal be `halewid preiseful to the Lord;
25 Et, à la cinquième année, vous mangerez les fruits, recueillant ceux que les arbres porteront. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
forsothe in the fifthe yeer ye schulen ete fruytis, and schulen gadere applis, whiche tho trees bryngen forth; Y am youre Lord God.
26 Vous ne mangerez rien avec le sang. Vous ne consulterez point les augures, et vous n’observerez point les songes.
Ye schulen not ete fleisch with blood. Ye schulen not make veyn diuynyng, nether ye schulen kepe dremes;
27 Vous ne couperez point vos cheveux en rond, et vous ne raserez point votre barbe.
nether ye schulen clippe the heer in round, nether ye schulen schaue the beerd;
28 Vous ne ferez point d’incisions en votre chair à cause d’un mort, et vous ne ferez aucune figure ou de marques sur vous. Je suis le Seigneur.
and on deed men ye schulen not kitte youre fleischis, nether ye schulen make to you ony fyguris, ether markis in youre fleisch; Y am the Lord.
29 Ne prostitue point ta fille, et afin que la terre ne soit pas souillée et qu’elle ne soit pas remplie d’impiété.
Sette thou not thi douytir to do leccherie for hire, and the lond be defoulid, and be fillid with synne.
30 Gardez mes sabbats, et craignez mon sanctuaire. Je suis le Seigneur.
Kepe ye my sabatis, and drede ye my seyntuarie; Y `am the Lord.
31 Vous n’irez point vers les magiciens et vous ne demanderez rien aux devins, pour que vous soyez souillés par eux. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
Bowe ye not to astronomyers, nether axe ye ony thing of fals dyuynours, that ye be defoulid bi hem; Y am youre Lord God.
32 Lève-toi devant une tête blanche, et honore la personne d’un vieillard: et crains le Seigneur ton Dieu. Je suis le Seigneur.
Rise thou bifor an hoor heed, and onoure thou the persoone of an eld man, and drede thou thi Lord God; Y am the Lord.
33 Si un étranger habite en votre terre, et s’il demeure parmi vous, ne lui faites point de reproches;
If a comelyng enhabitith in youre lond, and dwellith among you, dispise ye not hym,
34 Mais qu’il soit parmi vous comme un indigène; et vous l’aimerez comme vous-mêmes; car vous avez été, vous aussi, étrangers dans la terre d’Egypte. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
but be he among you as a man borun in the lond; and ye schulen loue hym as you silf, for also ye weren comelyngis in the lond of Egipt; Y am youre Lord God.
35 Ne faites rien d’inique dans le jugement, dans la règle, dans le poids, dans la mesure.
Nyle ye do ony wickid thing in doom, in reule, in weiyte, and in mesure; the balance be iust,
36 Que la balance soit juste, les poids justes, le boisseau juste et le setier juste. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu, qui vous ai retirés de la terre d’Egypte.
and the weiytis be euene, the buschel be iust, and the sextarie be euene; Y am youre Lord God, that ladde you out of the lond of Egipt.
37 Gardez tous mes préceptes et toutes mes ordonnances et exécutez-les. Je suis le Seigneur.
Kepe ye alle myn heestis, and alle domes, and do ye tho; Y am the Lord.
