Lévitique 18
1 Le Seigneur parla à Moïse, disant:
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2 Parle aux enfants d’Israël et tu leur diras: Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu:
Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: I am the Lord your God.
3 Vous ne vous conduirez point selon la coutume de la terre d’Egypte, dans laquelle vous avez habité; et vous n’agirez point selon les mœurs du pays de Chanaan, dans lequel je dois moi-même vous introduire, et vous ne marcherez point dans leurs lois.
You shall not do according to the custom of the land of Egypt, in which you dwelt: neither shall you act according to the manner of the country of Chanaan, into which I will bring you, nor shall you walk in their ordinances.
4 Vous exécuterez mes ordonnances, vous observerez mes préceptes et vous y marcherez. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu.
You shall do my judgments, and shall observe my precepts, and shall walk in them. I am the Lord your God.
5 Gardez mes lois et mes ordonnances; l’homme qui les accomplit, vivra par elles. Je suis le Seigneur.
Keep my laws and my judgments, which if a man do, he shall live in them. I am the Lord.
6 Nul homme ne s’approchera d’une femme qui est de son sang pour révéler sa nudité. Je suis le Seigneur.
No man shall approach to her that is near of kin to him, to uncover her nakedness. I am the Lord.
7 Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de ton père et la nudité de ta mère: c’est ta mère; tu ne révéleras pas sa nudité.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother: she is thy mother, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
8 Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de la femme de ton père; car c’est la nudité de ton père.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s wife: for it is the nakedness of thy father.
9 Tu ne révéleras point la nudité de ta sœur de père ou de mère, qui est née dans la maison ou au dehors.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy sister by father or by mother, whether born at home or abroad.
10 Tu ne révéleras point la nudité de la fille de ton fils ou de la fille de ta fille; parce que c’est ta nudité.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy son’s daughter, or thy daughter’s daughter: because it is thy own nakedness.
11 Tu ne révéleras point la nudité de la fille de la femme de ton père, qu’elle a enfantée à ton père; car elle est ta sœur.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s wife’s daughter, whom she bore to thy father, and who is thy sister.
12 Tu ne découvriras point la nudité de la sœur de ton père, parce que c’est la chair de ton père.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s sister: because she is the flesh of thy father.
13 Tu ne révéleras point la nudité de la sœur de la mère, parce que c’est la chair de ta mère.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother’s sister: because she is thy mother’s flesh.
14 Tu ne révéleras point la nudité de ton oncle paternel, et tu ne t’approcheras point de sa femme, qui t’est unie par affinité.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s brother: neither shalt thou approach to his wife, who is joined to thee by affinity.
15 Tu ne révéleras point la nudité de ta belle-fille, parce que c’est la femme de ton fils, et tu ne découvriras point son ignominie.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter in law: because she is thy son’s wife, neither shalt thou discover her shame.
16 Tu ne révéleras point la nudité de la femme de ton frère, parce que c’est la nudité de ton frère.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother’s wife: because it is the nakedness of thy brother.
17 Tu ne révéleras point la nudité de ta femme et de sa fille. Tu ne prendras point la fille de son fils et la fille de sa fille, pour révéler son ignominie, parce qu’elles sont sa chair, et une telle union est un inceste.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy wife and her daughter. Thou shalt not take her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter, to discover her shame: because they are her flesh, and such copulation is incest.
18 Tu ne prendras point la sœur de ta femme conjointement avec elle, et tu ne révéleras point sa nudité, elle encore vivante.
Thou shalt not take thy wife’s sister for a harlot, to rival her, neither shalt thou discover her nakedness, while she is yet living.
19 Tu ne t’approcheras point de la femme qui a ses mois, et tu ne révéleras point son impureté.
Thou shalt not approach to a woman having her flowers, neither shalt thou uncover her nakedness.
20 Tu ne t’approcheras point de la femme de ton prochain, et tu ne te souilleras point par un mélange de sang.
Thou shalt not lie with thy neighbour’s wife, nor be defiled with mingling of seed.
21 Tu ne donneras point de tes enfants pour être consacrés à l’idole de Moloch, et tu ne souilleras point le nom de ton Dieu. Je suis le Seigneur.
Thou shalt not give any of thy seed to be consecrated to the idol Moloch, nor defile the name of thy God: I am the Lord.
22 Tu ne t’approcheras point d’un homme comme d’une femme, parce que c’est une abomination.
Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind, because it is an abomination.
23 Tu ne t’approcheras d’aucune bête, et tu ne te souilleras point avec elle. Une femme n’ira point vers une bête et ne s’unira point avec elle, parce que c’est un crime.
Thou shalt not copulate with any beast, neither shalt thou be defiled with it. A woman shall not lie down to a beast, nor copulate with it: because it is a heinous crime.
24 Ne soyez point souillés d’aucune de ces choses, dont ont été souillées toutes les nations, que je chasserai moi-même devant vous,
Defile not yourselves with any of these things with which all the nations have been defiled, which I will cast out before you,
25 Et dont a été souillée cette terre de laquelle je visiterai moi-même les crimes, afin qu’elle vomisse ses habitants.
And with which the land is defiled: the abominations of which I will visit, that it may vomit out its inhabitants.
26 Gardez mes lois et mes ordonnances, et ne faites aucune de ces abominations, tant l’indigène, que le colon qui séjournent chez vous.
Keep ye my ordinances and my judgments, and do not any of these abominations: neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you.
27 Car toutes ces exécrations, ils les ont commises, les habitants de cette terre qui ont été avant vous, et ils l’ont souillée.
For all these detestable things the inhabitants of the land have done, that; were before you, and have defiled it.
28 Prenez donc garde qu’elle ne vous vomisse vous aussi de même, lorsque vous ferez de pareilles choses, comme elle a vomi la nation qui a été avant vous.
Beware then, lest in like manner, it vomit you also out, if you do the like things, as it vomited out the nation that was before you.
29 Tout homme qui fera quelque chose de ces abominations, périra du milieu de son peuple.
Every soul that shall commit any of these abominations, shall perish from the midst of his people.
30 Gardez mes commandements. Ne faites point les choses qu’ont faites ceux qui ont été avant vous et ne soyez point souillés par elles. Je suis le Seigneur votre Dieu
Keep my commandments. Do not the things which they have done, that have been before you, and be not defiled therein. I am the Lord your God.
