Josué 12

1 Voici les rois que battirent les enfants d’Israël, et dont ils possédèrent la terre au-delà du Jourdain, vers le levant, depuis le torrent d’Arnon jusqu’à la montagne d’Hermon, et toute la contrée orientale qui regarde le désert.

And these are the kings of the land whom the children of Israel smote, and whose land they took possession of on the other side of the Jordan, toward the rising of the sun, from the river Arnon unto mount Chermon, and all the plain on the east:

2 Séhon, roi des Amorrhéens qui habita à Hésébon, et qui régna depuis Aroer, qui est située sur le bord du torrent d’Arnon, au milieu de la vallée, et dans la moitié de Galaad jusqu’au torrent de Jaboc, qui est la frontière des enfants d’Ammon;

Sichon the king of the Emorites, who dwelt in Cheshbon, and ruled from 'Aro'er, which is upon the bank of the brook Arnon, and over the land in the middle of the brook, and from half Gil'ad, even unto the brook Yabbok, the boundary of the children of 'Ammon;

3 Et depuis le désert jusqu’à la mer du Cénéroth contre l’οrient, et jusqu’à la mer du désert, qui est la mer très salée, vers le côté oriental, par la voie qui mène à Bethsimoth; et depuis la partie australe qui est au-dessous d’Asédoth, jusqu’à Phasga.

And over the plain up to the sea of Kinneroth on the east, and up to the sea of the plain, the salt sea on the east, on the way to Beth-hayeshimoth; and at the south, under the declivities of Pisgah;

4 Les limites d’Og, roi de Basan, qui était des restes des Raphaïm, et qui habita à Astaroth et à Edraï, et qui régna à la montagne d’Hermon, à Salécha et dans tout le Basan, s’étendaient jusqu’aux frontières

And the territory of 'Og the king of Bashan, who was of the remnant of the Rephaim, that dwelt at 'Ashtaroth and at Edre'i,

5 De Gessuri, de Machati et de la moitié de Galaad: frontières de Séhon, roi d’Hésébon.

And reigned over mount Chermon, and over Salchah, and over all Bashan, unto the border of the Geshurites and the Ma'achathites, and half Gil'ad, [to] the boundary of Sichon the king of Cheshbon.

6 Moïse, serviteur du Seigneur, et les enfants d’Israël battirent ces rois, et Moïse livra leur terre en possession aux Rubénites, aux Gadites et à la demi-tribu de Manassé.

These did Moses the servant of the Lord and the children of Israel smite; and Moses the servant of the Lord gave it for a possession unto the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Menasseh.

7 Voici les rois du pays que battirent Josué et les enfants d’Israël au-delà du Jourdain, du côté occidental, depuis Baalgad dans la campagne du Liban jusqu’à la montagne dont une partie s’élève vers Séir: et Josué le donna en possession aux tribus d’Israël, à chacune sa part,

And these are the kings of the country whom Joshua and the children of Israel smote on this side of the Jordan on the west, from Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon as far as the bald mountain, that goeth up to Seir; and Joshua gave it unto the tribes of Israel for a possession, according to their divisions;

8 Tant au milieu des montagnes, que dans la plaine et la campagne. Dans Asédoth, dans le désert et au midi, étaient l’Héthéen et l’Amorrhéen, le Chananéen et le Phérézéen, l’Hévéen et le Jébuséen:

In the mountains, and in the lowlands, and in the plain, and in the declivities, and in the wilderness, and in the south country: the Hittites, the Emorites, and the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

9 Un roi de Jéricho, un roi de Haï, laquelle est à côté de Béthel,

The king of Jericho, one; the king of 'Ai, which was beside Bethel one;

10 Un roi de Jérusalem, un roi d’Hébron,

The king of Jerusalem, one; the king of Hebron, one;

11 Un roi de Jérimoth, un roi de Lachis,

The king of Yarmuth, one; the king of Lachish, one;

12 Un roi d’Eglon, un roi de Gazer,

The king of 'Eglon, one; the king of Gezer, one;

13 Un roi de Dabir, un roi de Gader,

The king of Debir, one; the king of Geder, one;

14 Un roi d’Herma, un roi d’Héred,

The king of Chormah, one; the king of 'Arad, one;

15 Un roi de Lebna, un roi d’Odullam,

The king of Libnah, one; the king of 'Adullam, one;

16 Un roi de Macéda, un roi de Béthel,

The king of Makkedah, one; the king of Beth'el, one;

17 Un roi de Taphua, un roi d’Opher,

The king of Tappuach, one; the king of Chepher, one;

18 Un roi d’Aphec, un roi de Saron,

The king of Aphek, one; the king of Lasharon, one;

19 Un roi de Madon, un roi d’Asor,

The king of Madon, one; the king of Chazor, one;

20 Un roi de Séméron, un roi d’Achsaph,

The king of Shimron-meron, one; the king of Achshaph, one;

21 Un roi de Thénac, un roi de Mageddo,

The king of Ta'anach, one; the king of Megiddo, one;

22 Un roi de Cadès, un roi de Jachanan du Carmel,

The king of Kedesh, one; the king of Yokne'am on Carmel, one;

23 Un roi de Dor, et de la province de Dor, un roi des nations de Galgal,

The king of Dor in the district of Dor, one; the king of Goyim in Gilgal, one;

24 Un roi de Thersa: en tout, trente-un rois.

The king of Tirzah, one: in all thirty and one kings.
