Jean 15

1 Moi je suis la vraie vigne, et mon Père est le vigneron.

I, am the real vine, and, my Father, is, the husbandman.

2 Tous les sarments qui ne portent pas de fruit en moi, il les retranchera; et tous ceux qui portent du fruit, il les émondera, pour qu’ils portent plus de fruit encore.

Every branch in me that beareth not fruit, He taketh it away; and, every one that beareth, fruit, He pruneth it, that, more fruit, it may bear.

3 Vous êtes déjà purs, vous, à cause des paroles que je vous ai dites.

Already, ye, are, pure, because of the word which I have spoken unto you:

4 Demeurez en moi, et moi en vous. Comme le sarment ne peut porter de fruit par lui-même, s’il ne demeure uni à la vigne; ainsi vous non plus, si vous ne demeurez en moi.

Abide in me, and, I, in you. Just as, the branch, cannot be bearing fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine, so, neither, ye, except, in me, ye abide.

5 Moi je suis la vigne, et vous les sarments. Celui qui demeure en moi et moi en lui portera beaucoup de fruit; parce que sans moi vous ne pouvez rien faire.

I, am the vine: Ye, are the branches. He that abideth in me and, I, in him, the same, beareth much fruit; because, apart from me, ye can bring forth, nothing.

6 Si quelqu’un ne demeure pas en moi, il sera jeté dehors comme le sarment, et il séchera; et on le ramassera, et on le jettera au feu, et il brûlera.

If one abide not me, he is cast out as the branch, and withered, and they gather them, —and, into fire, they cast them, and they are burned.

7 Si vous demeurez en moi, et que mes paroles demeurent en vous, vous demanderez tout ce que vous voudrez, et il vous sera fait.

If ye abide in me, and, my sayings, in you, abide, whatsoever ye may be desiring, ask! and it shall be brought to pass for you.

8 C’est la gloire de mon Père que vous portiez beaucoup de fruit, et que vous deveniez mes disciples.

Herein, was my Father glorified, that, much fruit, ye should bear, and become my disciples.

9 Comme mon Père m’a aimé, moi je vous ai aimés. Demeurez dans mon amour.

Just as the Father loved me, I also, loved you: Abide ye in my love.

10 Si vous gardez mes commandements, vous demeurerez dans mon amour; comme moi-même j’ai gardé les commandements de mon Père, et je demeure dans son amour.

If, my commandments, ye keep, ye shall abide in my love, —just as, I, the Father’s commandments, have kept, and abide in his love.

11 Je vous ai dit ces choses, afin que ma joie soit en vous, et que votre joie soit complète.

These things, have I spoken unto you, that, my own joy, in you, may be, and, your joy, may be made full.

12 Voici mon commandement, c’est que vous vous aimiez les uns les autres comme je vous ai aimés.

This, is my own commandment, That ye be loving one another, just as I loved you.

13 Personne n’a un plus grand amour que celui qui donne sa vie pour ses amis.

Greater love than this, hath, no one, That, his life, one should lay down in behalf of his friends.

14 Vous êtes mes amis, si vous faites ce que je vous commande.

Ye, are, friends of mine, if ye be doing that which, I, am commanding you.

15 Je ne vous appellerai plus serviteurs, parce que le serviteur ne sait pas ce que fait son maître. Mais je vous ai appelés mes amis, parce que tout ce que j’ai entendu de mon Père, je vous l’ai fait connaître.

No longer, do I call you, servants, for, the servant, knoweth not what, his lord, is doing. But, you, I have called, friends, because, all things which I heard from my Father, made I known unto you.

16 Ce n’est pas vous qui m’avez choisi, mais c’est moi qui vous ai choisis et vous ai établis, pour que vous alliez, et rapportiez du fruit, et que votre fruit demeure, afin que tout ce que vous demanderez à mon Père en mon nom il vous le donne.

Not, ye, chose, me, but, I, chose you, and placed you, that ye should go your way and bear, fruit, —and, your fruit, should abide: that, whatsoever ye should ask the Father in my name, he might give unto you.

17 Ce que je vous commande, c’est que vous vous aimiez les uns les autres.

These things, I command you, That ye be loving one another.

18 Si le monde vous hait, sachez qu’il m’a eu en haine avant vous.

If, the world, is hating, you, ye are getting to know that, me, before you, it hath hated.

19 Si vous aviez été du monde, le monde aimerait ce qui est à lui; mais parce que vous n’êtes point du monde, et que je vous ai choisis du milieu du monde, c’est pour cela que le monde vous hait.

If, of the world, ye had been, the world, of its own, had been fond; but, because, of the world, ye are not, on the contrary, I, chose you out of the world, therefore, the world, doth hate you.

20 Souvenez-vous de la parole que je vous ai dite: Le serviteur n’est pas plus grand que son maître. S’ils m’ont persécuté, ils vous persécuteront aussi; s’ils ont gardé ma parole, ils garderont aussi la vôtre.

Remember the word which, I, spake unto you: A servant is not greater than his lord. If, me, they persecuted, you too, will they persecute, —If, my word, they kept, your own also, will they keep.

21 Mais ils vous feront toutes ces choses à cause de mon nom; parce qu’ils ne connaissent point celui qui m’a envoyé.

But, all these things, will they do unto you, on account of my name, because they know not him that sent me.

22 Si je n’étais pas venu, et que je ne leur eusse point parlé, ils n’auraient point de péché; mais maintenant ils n’ont point d’excuse de leur péché.

Had I not come and spoken unto them, Sin, had they none; but, now, have they no, excuse, for their sin.

23 Qui me hait, hait aussi mon Père.

He that hateth me, hateth, my Father also.

24 Si je n’avais fait parmi eux les œuvres que nul autre n’a faites, ils n’auraient point de péchés; mais maintenant, et ils les ont vues, et ils ont haï et moi et mon Père.

Had I not done among them, the works, which, no other, had done, sin, had they none; but, now, have they, both seen and hated both me and my Father.

25 Mais c’est afin que s’accomplisse la parole qui est écrite dans leur loi: Ils m’ont haï gratuitement.

But…that the word which, in their law, is written, might be fulfilled—They hated me without cause.

26 Mais lorsque sera venu le Paraclet que je vous enverrai du Père, l’Esprit de vérité qui procède du Père, il rendra témoignage de moi;

Whensoever the Advocate shall come, Whom, I, will send unto you from the Father, The Spirit of truth, which, from the Father, cometh forth, He, will bear witness concerning me;

27 Et vous aussi, vous rendrez témoignage, parce que, dès le commencement, vous êtes avec moi.

And do, ye also, bear witness, because, from the beginning, ye are, with me,
