Jérémie 39
1 La neuvième année de Sédécias, roi de Juda, au dixième mois, Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, vint et toute son armée devant Jérusalem, et ils en faisaient le siège.
And it came to pass, when Jerusalem was taken, (in the ninth year of Zedekiah, the king of Judah, in the tenth month, came Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, and all his army, against Jerusalem, and besieged it;
2 Mais la onzième année de Sédécias, au quatrième mois, le cinquième jour, la cité fut ouverte.
and in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, on the ninth day of the month, was the city broken into, )
3 Et tous les princes du roi de Babylone entrèrent, et se postèrent à la porte du milieu: Nérégel, Séréser, Sémégarnabu, Sarsachim, Rabsarès, Nérégel, Séréser, Rebmag, et tous les autres princes du roi de Babylone.
that all the chieftains of the king of Babylon came, and stationed themselves in the middle gate, Nergalsharezer, Samgarnebo, Sarsechim, prefect of the eunuchs, Nergalsharezer, prefect of the magians, and all the rest of the princes of the king of Babylon.
4 Et lorsque Sédécias, roi de Juda, et tous les hommes de guerre les eurent aperçus, ils s’enfuirent; et ils sortirent la nuit de la cité par la voie du jardin du roi, et par la porte qui était entre les deux murs, et ils se dirigèrent vers la voie du désert.
And when Zedekiah, the king of Judah, and all the men of war, saw them, they fled, and went forth out of the city by night, by the way of the king's garden, through the gate between the two walls; and they went forth toward the plain.
5 Mais l’armée des Chaldéens les poursuivit; et ils prirent Sédécias dans les champs de la solitude de Jéricho, et ils l’amenèrent prisonnier à Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, à Réblatha qui est en la terre d’Emath; et Nabuchodonosor lui prononça son arrêt.
But the army of the Chaldaeans pursued them, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and they took him, and brought him to Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, at Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he gave judgment concerning him.
6 Et le roi de Babylone fit mourir les deux fils de Sédécias à Réblatha, sous ses yeux, et tous les nobles de Juda, le roi de Babylone les fit mourir.
And the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah at Riblah before his eyes; and all the nobles of Judah did the king of Babylon slay.
7 Il arracha aussi les yeux à Sédécias, et le chargea de fers aux pieds, afin qu’il fût emmené à Babylone.
And he put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him with fetters of brass, to carry him to Babylon.
8 Les Chaldéens mirent aussi le feu à la maison du roi et aux maisons du peuple, et ils renversèrent le mur de Jérusalem.
And the Chaldaeans burned the king's house, and the houses of the people, with fire, and they broke down the walls of Jerusalem.
9 Et les restes du peuple qui étaient demeurés dans Jérusalem, et les transfuges qui s’étaient réfugiés auprès de lui, et les restants du peuple qui étaient demeurés, Nabuzardan, chef de la milice, les transféra à Babylone.
And the residue of the people that remained in the city, and the deserters who had come over to him, the residue of the people that remained, Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, carried away to Babylon.
10 Et quant à la foule des pauvres qui ne possédaient absolument rien, Nabuzardan, chef de la milice, la laissa dans la terre de Juda et lui donna des vignes et des citernes en ce jour-là.
But the poor of the people, who had nothing, Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, left in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.
11 Mais Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, avait donné à Nabuzardan, chef de la milice, cet ordre touchant Jérémie, disant:
And Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, gave charge concerning Jeremiah to Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, saying,
12 Prends-le et tiens sur lui tes yeux, et ne lui fais aucun mal: mais comme il voudra, ainsi tu lui feras.
“Take him, and have thine eyes upon him, and do him no harm; but do to him even as he shall say to you.”
13 Nabuzardan donc, chef de la milice, envoya, et Nabusezban, et Rabsarès, et Nérégel, et Séréser, et Rebmag, et tous les autres grands du roi de Babylone,
Then sent Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, and Nebushasban, prefect of the eunuchs, and Nergalsharezer, prefect of the magians, and all the princes of the king of Babylon,
14 Envoyèrent et firent sortir Jérémie du vestibule de la prison, et ils le remirent à Godolias, fils d’Ahicam, fils de Saphan, afin qu’il entrât dans une maison et qu’il habitât au milieu du peuple.
they sent and took Jeremiah out of the court of the prison, and committed him to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, that he should carry him home; and he dwelt among the people.
15 Mais à Jérémie avait été adressée la parole du Seigneur, lorsqu’il était enfermé dans le vestibule de la prison, disant:
Now the word of Jehovah had come to Jeremiah, while he was shut up in the court of the prison, saying:
16 Va, et parle à Abdémélech l’Ethiopien, disant: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur des armées, Dieu d’Israël: Voilà que j’amènerai mes paroles sur cette cité, pour son mal, et non pour son bien: elles auront lieu en ce jour-là devant tes yeux.
Go and speak to Ebedmelech, the Ethiopian, and say: Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I bring my words upon this city for evil and not for good, and with thine own eyes shalt thou see it in that day.
17 Et je te délivrerai, en ce jour-là, dit le Seigneur; et tu ne seras pas livré aux mains des hommes que tu redoutes;
But I will deliver thee in that day, saith Jehovah; and thou shalt not be given into the hand of the men of whom thou art afraid.
18 Mais, t’en retirant, je te délivrerai, et tu ne tomberas pas sous le glaive; mais ta vie te sera sauvée, parce que tu as eu confiance en moi, dit le Seigneur.
But I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be to thee as a prey; because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith Jehovah.
