Jérémie 30
1 Voici la parole qui fut adressée à Jérémie par le Seigneur, disant:
The word which came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying: —
2 Voici ce que dit le Seigneur, Dieu d’Israël, disant: Ecris pour toi toutes les paroles que je t’ai dites dans un livre.
Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel: Write thee all the words which I have spoken to thee in a book.
3 Car des jours viennent, dit le Seigneur, et je ferai retourner certainement mon peuple d’Israël et de Juda, dit le Seigneur; et je les ferai retourner dans la terre que j’ai donnée à leurs pères, et ils la posséderont.
For behold the days come, saith Jehovah, when I will bring back the captives of my people Israel and Judah, saith Jehovah, and cause them to return to the land which I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.
4 Et voici les paroles que le Seigneur a dites à Israël et à Juda:
And these are the words which Jehovah spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah.
5 Ainsi voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Nous avons entendu une voix de terreur; l’épouvante, et il n’y a pas de paix.
Behold, thus saith Jehovah: The voice of trembling do we hear; There is alarm, and no peace.
6 Demandez et voyez si un mâle enfante; pourquoi donc ai-je vu la main de tout homme sur ses reins, comme une femme en travail, et pourquoi toutes les faces ont-elles tourné à la pâleur?
Ask ye now and see, Whether a male doth bring forth? Why then do I see every man's hands upon his loins, like a woman in travail? And why are all faces turned into paleness?
7 Malheur! car grand est ce jour, et il n’en est point de semblable; et c’est un temps de tribulation pour Jacob, mais il en sera délivré.
Alas! that day is great, So that there is none like it; It is a time of trouble for Jacob, Yet shall he be saved from it.
8 Et il arrivera en ce jour-là, dit le Seigneur des armées, que je briserai son joug, et je l’ôterai de ton cou, je romprai ses liens, et les étrangers ne le domineront plus;
For in that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, I will break his yoke from his neck, And his bands will I burst asunder, And he shall be subject to strangers no more.
9 Mais ils serviront le Seigneur leur Dieu, et David leur roi que je leur susciterai.
But they shall serve Jehovah, their God, And David, their king, whom I will raise up for them.
10 Toi donc, ne crains pas, mon serviteur Jacob, dit le Seigneur, et ne t’effraye pas, Israël, parce que je te sauverai en te ramenant d’une terre lointaine, et ta race en la retirant de la terre de sa captivité; et Jacob reviendra, et se reposera, et abondera en toute sorte de choses, et il n’y aura personne qu’il redoutera.
Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith Jehovah, And be not thou dismayed, O Israel! For, behold, I will bring thee safe from afar, And thy posterity from the land of their captivity; And Jacob shall return, and be at rest; Yea, he shall be quiet, and none shall make him afraid.
11 Parce que moi je suis avec toi, dit le Seigneur, afin de te sauver; car je détruirai entièrement toutes les nations parmi lesquelles je t’ai dispersé; pour toi, je ne te détruirai pas entièrement; mais je te châtierai selon la justice, afin que tu ne paraisses pas à tes yeux irréprochable.
For I will be with thee, saith Jehovah, to save thee; When I shall make a full end of all the nations Whither I have dispersed thee, Yet will I not make a full end of thee; I will correct thee in measure, Yet must I not leave thee wholly unpunished.
12 Parce que voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Incurable est ta blessure, très maligne ta plaie.
For thus saith Jehovah: Thy bruise is incurable; Thy wound is mortal.
13 Il n’est personne qui s’intéresse à ta cause pour bander ta plaie; dans les remèdes il n’y a pas d’utilité pour toi.
No one offereth his help for thy cure; No healing medicines are applied to thee.
14 Tous ceux qui t’aimaient t’ont oubliée, et ne te rechercheront plus, car je t’ai frappée d’une plaie d’ennemi, d’un châtiment cruel; à cause de la multitude de tes iniquités, tes péchés sont devenus graves.
All thy lovers have forgotten thee; They inquire not after thee. For with the wound of an enemy have I smitten thee, With the chastisement of a cruel one, For the multitude of thine iniquities, Because thy sins were increased.
15 Pourquoi cries-tu d’avoir été brisée? ta douleur est incurable; à cause de la multitude de tes iniquités, et à cause de tes péchés graves, je t’ai fait cela.
Why criest thou because of thy bruise? Thy pain is without remedy. For the multitude of thine iniquities, Because thy sins were increased, Have I done these things to thee.
16 C’est pour cela que tous ceux qui le mangent seront dévorés; et tous tes ennemis seront emmenés en captivité; et ceux qui te ravagent seront ravagés, et tous ceux qui te pillent, je les livrerai au pillage.
Yet all they that devour thee shall be devoured, And all thine enemies, yea, all of them, shall go into captivity, And they that spoil thee shall become a spoil, And all that plunder thee will I give up to plunder.
17 Car je fermerai ta cicatrice, et je te guérirai de tes blessures, dit le Seigneur. Parce que, ô Sion, ils t’ont appelée la répudiée, disant: Voici celle qui n’avait personne qui la recherchât.
For I will restore soundness to thee, And I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith Jehovah; For they have called thee the outcast, Zion, whom no man careth for.
18 Voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Voilà que moi, je ferai retourner certainement les tabernacles de Jacob, et j’aurai pitié de ses demeures, et la cité sera bâtie sur sa hauteur, et le temple sera fondé sur son premier modèle.
Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will bring back the captives of the tents of Jacob, And I will have pity upon his dwelling-places, And the city shall be builded upon her heap, And the palace shall be inhabited as of old.
19 Et la louange et la voix de ceux qui formeront des chœurs sortiront du milieu d’eux; et je les multiplierai, et leur nombre ne diminuera pas, et je les glorifierai, et ils ne seront pas amoindris.
And out of them shall go forth thanksgiving, And the voice of them that make merry. And I will multiply them, and they shall not be few, And I will exalt them, and they shall not be low.
20 Et ses fils seront comme dès le commencement, et son assemblée demeurera devant moi; et je visiterai tous ceux qui le tourmentent.
And their children shall be as aforetime, And their congregation shall be established before me, And I will punish all that oppress them.
21 Et son chef sortira de lui un prince naîtra du milieu de lui je le ferai approcher, et il s’avancera vers moi; car quel est celui qui appliquerait son cœur à s’approcher de moi, dit le Seigneur?
And their princes shall be of themselves, And their governor shall proceed from the midst of them. And I will cause them to approach, and they shall come near to me; For who is he that would dare to come near to me? saith Jehovah.
22 Et vous serez mon peuple, et moi je serai votre Dieu.
And ye shall be my people, And I will be your God.
23 Voilà que le tourbillon du Seigneur, que la fureur qui s’échappe, que la tempête qui se précipite, se reposera sur la tête des impies.
Behold, a whirlwind from Jehovah, Furious doth it go forth, Even a sweeping whirlwind; Upon the head of the wicked shall it rush.
24 Le Seigneur ne détournera pas la colère de son indignation, jusqu’à ce qu’il ait exécuté et accompli la pensée de son cœur; au dernier des jours vous comprendrez ces choses.
The fierce anger of Jehovah shall not turn back Until he shall have executed, until he shall have accomplished, the purpose of his heart; In a future day ye shall understand it fully.
