Jérémie 28

1 Et il arriva en cette année-là, au commencement du règne de Sédécias, roi de Juda, en la quatrième année, au cinquième mois, qu’Hananias, fils d’Azur, prophète de Gabaon, me parla dans la maison du Seigneur, devant les prêtres et tout le peuple, disant:

And it came to pass in the same year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah the king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, that there said unto me Chananyah the son of 'Azzur the prophet, who was from Gib'on, in the house of the Lord, before the eyes of the priests, and of all the people, as followeth,

2 Voici ce que dit le Seigneur des armées, Dieu d’Israël; J’ai brisé le joug du roi de Babylone.

Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon;

3 Encore deux ans de jours, et moi je ferai rapporter ici tous les vases de la maison du Seigneur, que Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, a enlevés de ce lieu-ci, et qu’il a transportés à Babylone,

Within yet two years' time will I cause to be brought back unto this place all the vessels of the house of the Lord, which Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon hath taken away from this place, and which he hath carried to Babylon:

4 Et je ferai revenir, dit le Seigneur, Jéchonias, fils de Joakim, roi de Juda, et tous les fils de la transmigration de Juda qui sont entrés à Babylone, car je briserai le joug du roi de Babylone.

And Jechonyah the son of Jehoyakim the king of Judah, and all the exiles of Judah that are gone to Babylon, will I cause to return to this place, saith the Lord; for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.

5 Et Jérémie le prophète dit à Hananias le prophète, sous les yeux des prêtres et sous les yeux de tout le peuple qui se tenait dans la maison du Seigneur;

Then said Jeremiah the prophet unto Chananyah the prophet before the eyes of the priests, and before the eyes of all the people that stood in the house of the Lord,

6 Jérémie, le prophète, dit donc: Amen, qu’ainsi fasse le Seigneur; que le Seigneur réalise tes paroles que tu as prophétisées, afin que les vases soient rapportés dans la maison du Seigneur, et que tous les fils de la transmigration de Babylone reviennent en ce lieu.

Yea, then said Jeremiah the prophet, Amen, may the Lord do so: may the Lord fulfill thy words which thou hast prophesied, to cause the vessels of the Lord's house, and all that have been carried into exile, to be brought back from Babylon unto this place.

7 Mais cependant écoute cette parole que moi, je dis à tes oreilles et aux oreilles de tout le peuple:

Nevertheless hear thou now this word which I speak before thy ears, and before the ears of all the people:

8 Les prophètes qui ont été avant moi et avant toi dès le commencement, ont prophétisé dans beaucoup de pays et dans de grands royaumes, la guerre, et l’affliction, et la famine.

The prophets that have been before me and before thee from olden times prophesied both concerning many countries, and against great kingdoms, respecting war, and respecting evil, and respecting pestilence.

9 Le prophète qui prédit la paix, lorsque sa parole s’accomplira, sera reconnu pour le prophète que le Seigneur a envoyé véritablement.

The prophet who prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet doth come to pass, then shall the prophet be known, [as the one] whom the Lord hath sent in truth.

10 Et Hananias le prophète enleva la chaîne du cou de Jérémie, le prophète, et la brisa.

Then took Chananyah the prophet the yoke-bar from off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, and broke it.

11 Et Hananias parla en présence de tout le peuple, disant: Voici ce que di t le Seigneur: Ainsi je briserai après deux années de jours le joug de Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, et je l’ôterai du cou de toutes les nations.

And Chananyah said before the eyes of all the people, as followeth, Thus hath said the Lord, Even so will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon within two years' time from the neck of all the nations. And Jeremiah the prophet went his way.

12 Et Jérémie, le prophète, reprit son chemin. Et la parole du Seigneur fut adressée à Jérémie, après qu’Hananias, le prophète, eut brisé la chaîne, l’ayant ôtée du cou de Jérémie, le prophète, disant:

Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah, after Chananyah the prophet had broken the yoke-bar from off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, saying,

13 Va, et tu diras à Hananias: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Tu as brisé des chaînes de bois, et tu feras en leur place des chaînes de fer.

Go and say unto Chananyah as followeth, Thus hath said the Lord, Yoke-bars of wood hast thou broken; but thou shalt make in their stead yoke-bars of iron.

14 Car voici ce que dit le Seigneur des armées, Dieu d’Israël: J’ai posé un joug de fer sur le cou de toutes les nations, afin qu’elles se soumettent à Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, et elles se soumettront à lui; de plus je lui ai même donné les bêtes de la terre.

For thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, A yoke of iron have I placed upon the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon; and they shall work for him: and also the beasts of the field have I given him.

15 Et Jérémie le prophète dit à Hananias le prophète: Ecoute, Hananias; le Seigneur ne t’a pas envoyé, et tu as fait que ce peuple s’est confié dans un mensonge.

Then said Jeremiah the prophet unto Chananyah the prophet, Hear now, Chananyah, The Lord did not send thee; but thou hast caused this people to trust on a falsehood.

16 C’est pourquoi, voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Voilà que moi je te chasserai de la face de la terre; cette année tu mourras; car tu as parlé contre le Seigneur.

Therefore thus hath said the Lord, Behold, I will send thee away from off the face of the earth: this year shalt thou die, because thou hast spoken rebellion against the Lord.

17 Et Hananias mourut cette année-là, au septième mois.

So Chananyah the prophet died in that same year, in the seventh month.
