Jérémie 27

1 Au commencement du règne de Joakim, fils de Josias, roi de Juda, cette parole fut adressée à Jérémie par le Seigneur, disant:

In the beginning of the reign of Jehoyakim the son of Josiah the king of Judah came this word unto Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,

2 Voici ce que me dit le Seigneur: Fais-toi des liens, et des chaînes, et tu les mettras à ton cou.

Thus said the Lord to me, Make for thyself bands and yoke-bars, and put them around thy neck,

3 Et tu les enverras au roi d’Edom, et au roi de Moab, et au roi des enfants d’Ammon, et au roi de Tyr, et au roi de Sidon, par la main des ambassadeurs qui sont venus à Jérusalem vers Sédécias, roi de Juda.

And send such to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the children of 'Ammon, and to the king of Tyre, and to the king of Zidon, by means of the messengers who come to Jerusalem unto Zedekiah the king of Judah;

4 Et tu leur ordonneras de parler ainsi à leurs maîtres: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur des armées, Dieu d’Israël: Vous direz ceci à vos maîtres:

And thou shalt charge them unto their masters, saying, Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Thus shall ye say unto your masters,

5 C’est moi qui ai fait la terre, et les hommes et les hôtes qui sont sur la face de la terre, par ma grande puissance et par mon bras étendu; et j’ai donné la terre à celui qui a plu à mes yeux.

It is I who have made the earth, the men, and the beasts that are upon the face of the earth, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and I have given it unto the one who seemeth proper in my eyes.

6 Et c’est pourquoi moi j’ai maintenant mis toutes ces terres dans la maison de Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, mon serviteur; de plus, je lui ai donné les bêtes de la campagne, afin qu’elles lui soient soumises.

And now it is I who have given all these countries into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and also the beasts of the field have I given him to serve him.

7 Et toutes les nations lui seront soumises, à lui et à son fils, et au fils de son fils, jusqu’à ce que vienne le temps de son royaume et son propre temps, et beaucoup de nations et de grands rois lui seront soumis.

And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son, until the time of his land is also come in its turn: when many nations and great kings shall make it serve.

8 Mais la nation et le royaume qui ne se soumettra pas à Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, et quiconque ne courbera pas son cou sous le joug du roi de Babylone, c’est par le glaive, par la faim, et par la peste, que je visiterai cette nation, jusqu’à ce que je les aie consumés par sa main.

And it shall come to pass, that the nation and the kingdom which will not serve him, Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put its neck in the yoke of the king of Babylon, —even that nation will I punish with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, saith the Lord, until I have made an end of them by his hand.

9 Vous donc, n’écoutez pas vos prophètes, et vos devins et vos rêveurs, vos augures et vos magiciens, qui vous disent: Vous ne serez pas soumis au roi de Babylone.

But do ye not hearken to your prophets, and to your diviners, and to your dreamers, and to your enchanters, and to your sorcerers, who speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon;

10 Parce qu’ils vous prophétisent un mensonge, afin de vous envoyer loin de votre terre, et de vous en chasser, et de vous faire périr.

For falsehood do they prophesy unto you, in order to remove you far from your land; and that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish.

11 Or la nation qui mettra son cou sous le joug du roi de Babylone, et se soumettra à lui, je la laisserai dans sa terre, dit le Seigneur; et elle la cultivera, et elle y habitera.

But the nation that will bring its neck into the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, —that one will I then let remain quietly in its own land, saith the Lord: and it shall till it, and dwell therein.

12 Et à Sédécias, roi de Juda, dans les mêmes termes j’ai parlé, disant: Mettez vos cous sous le joug du roi de Babylone, et soumettez-vous à lui et à son peuple, et vous vivrez.

And unto Zedekiah the king of Judah did I speak in accordance with all these words, saying, Bring your neck into the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, that ye may live.

13 Pourquoi mourrez-vous, vous et votre peuple, par le glaive, et par la famine, et par la peste, comme l’a dit le Seigneur de la nation qui n’aura pas voulu se soumettre au roi de Babylone?

Why will ye die, thou and thy people, by the sword, by the famine, and by pestilence, as the Lord hath spoken concerning the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?

14 N’écoutez pas les paroles des prophètes qui vous disent: Vous ne serez pas soumis au roi de Babylone; parce que c’est un mensonge qu’eux vous disent.

And do ye not hearken unto the words of the prophets that say unto you, as followeth, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon; for a falsehood do they prophesy unto you.

15 Parce que je ne les ai pas envoyés, dit le Seigneur, et ils prophétisent en mon nom faussement, afin de vous chasser de votre terre et de vous faire périr, vous et les prophètes qui vous prédisent l’avenir.

For I have not sent them, saith the Lord, yet they prophesy in my name falsely: in order that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish, ye, and the prophets that prophesy unto you.

16 Et j’ai parlé aux prêtres et à ce peuple, disant: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur: N’écoutez pas les paroles de vos prophètes qui vous prophétisent, disant: Voilà que les vases du Seigneur seront bientôt rapportés de Babylone; car c’est un mensonge qu’ils vous prophétisent.

And unto the priests and unto all this people did I speak, saying, Thus hath said the Lord, Do not hearken to the words of your prophets that prophesy unto you, saying, Behold, the vessels of the house of the Lord shall be brought again from Babylon now speedily; for a falsehood do they prophesy unto you.

17 Ne les écoutez donc pas; mais soumettez-vous au roi de Babylone, afin que vous viviez; pourquoi cette cité sera-t-elle réduite en une solitude?

Hearken not unto them; serve the king of Babylon, that ye may live: wherefore should this city become a ruin?

18 Que s’ils sont prophètes et que la parole du Seigneur soit en eux, qu’ils s’opposent au Seigneur des armées, afin que les vases laissés dans la maison du Seigneur, et dans la maison du roi de Juda, et à Jérusalem, ne soient pas transférés à Babylone.

And if they be prophets, and if the word of the Lord be with them, let them now make intercession with the Lord of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, may not be carried to Babylon.

19 Parce que voici ce que dit le Seigneur des armées relativement aux colonnes, et à la mer, et aux bases, et aux restes des vases qui ont été laissés dans cette cité,

For thus hath said the Lord of hosts of the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that are left in this city,

20 Que n’emporta pas Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, lorsqu’il transféra Jéchonias, fils de Joakim, roi de Juda, de Jérusalem à Babylone, et tous les grands de Juda et de Jérusalem;

Which Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon did not take away, when he carried away into exile Jechonyah the son of Jehoyakim the king of Judah from Jerusalem to Babylon, with all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem;

21 Parce que, dis-je, voici ce que dit le Seigneur des armées, Dieu d’Israël, relativement aux vases qui ont été laissés dans la maison du roi de Juda et dans Jérusalem:

[Yea] for thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that are left in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem,

22 Ils seront transportés à Babylone, et ils y seront jusqu’au jour de leur visite, dit le Seigneur; et je les ferai rapporter et rétablir en ce lieu.

Unto Babylon shall they be carried, and there shall they remain until the day that I think of them, saith the Lord, when I will bring them up, and restore them to this place.
