Isaïe 60
1 Lève-toi, reçois la lumière, Jérusalem, parce qu’est venue ta lumière, et que la gloire du Seigneur sur toi s’est levée.
Arise, O Ierusalem: be bright, for thy light is come, and the glorie of the Lord is risen vpon thee.
2 Parce que voilà que les ténèbres couvriront la terre, et une obscurité, les peuples; mais sur toi se lèvera le Seigneur, et sa gloire en toi se verra.
For beholde, darkenesse shall couer the earth, and grosse darkenesse the people: but the Lord shall arise vpon thee, and his glory shall be seene vpon thee.
3 Et des nations marcheront à ta lumière, et des rois à la splendeur de ton lever.
And the Gentiles shall walke in thy light, and Kings at the brightnesse of thy rising vp.
4 Lève autour de toi tes yeux et vois; tous ceux-ci se sont rassemblés, ils sont venus à toi; tes fils de loin viendront, et tes filles à ton côté se lèveront.
Lift vp thine eyes round about, and beholde: all these are gathered, and come to thee: thy sonnes shall come from farre, and thy daughters shalbe nourished at thy side.
5 Alors tu verras, et tu seras dans l’abondance; ton cœur admirera, et se dilatera, quand se sera tournée vers toi la richesse de la mer, et que la force des nations sera venue à toi.
Then thou shalt see and shine: thine heart shall be astonied and enlarged, because the multitude of the sea shalbe conuerted vnto thee, and the riches of the Gentiles shall come vnto thee.
6 Une inondation de chameaux te couvrira ainsi que les dromadaires de Madian et d’Epha; tous viendront de Saba, apportant de l’or et de l’encens, et publiant des louanges en l’honneur du Seigneur.
The multitude of camels shall couer thee: and the dromedaries of Midian and of Ephah: all they of Sheba shall come: they shall bring golde and incense, and shewe foorth the prayses of the Lord.
7 Tout troupeau de Cédar sera rassemblé pour toi, les béliers de Nabaïoth seront employés à ton service; ils seront offerts sur mon autel d’expiation, et je glorifierai la maison de ma majesté.
All the sheepe of Kedar shall be gathered vnto thee: the rammes of Nebaioth shall serue thee: they shall come vp to bee accepted vpon mine altar: and I will beautifie the house of my glorie.
8 Qui sont ceux-ci qui volent comme des nuées, et comme des colombes vers leurs demeures?
Who are these that flee like a cloude, and as the doues to their windowes?
9 Car les îles m’attendent, ainsi que les vaisseaux de mer, dès le principe, afin que je fasse venir tes fils de loin, leur or et leur argent avec eux, et les consacre au nom du Seigneur ton Dieu et au saint d’Israël, parce qu’il t’a glorifiée.
Surely the yles shall waite for mee, and the shippes of Tarshish, as at the beginning, that they may bring thy sonnes from farre, and their siluer, and their golde with them, vnto the Name of the Lord thy God, and to the Holy one of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.
10 Et les fils des étrangers bâtiront des murs, et leurs rois te serviront; car dans mon indignation je t’ai frappée, et par ma réconciliation j’ai eu pitié de toi.
And the sonnes of strangers shall builde vp thy walles, and their Kings shall minister vnto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my mercie I had compassion on thee.
11 Et tes portes seront ouvertes continuellement; ni jour ni nuit elles ne seront fermées, afin que te soit apportée la force des nations, et que leurs rois te soient amenés.
Therefore thy gates shalbe open continually: neither day nor night shall they be shutte, that men may bring vnto thee the riches of the Gentiles, and that their Kings may be brought.
12 Car la nation et le royaume qui ne te sera pas assujetti, périra; ces nations réduites en solitude seront dévastées.
For the nation and the kingdome, that will not serue thee, shall perish: and those nations shalbe vtterly destroyed.
13 La gloire du Liban vers toi viendra; le sapin, et le buis, et le pin serviront ensemble à orner le lieu de ma sanctification; et la place de mes pieds, je la glorifierai.
The glory of Lebanon shall come vnto thee, the firre tree, the elme and the boxe tree together, to beautifie the place of my Sanctuarie: for I will glorifie the place of my feete.
14 Et ils viendront vers toi, les fils de ceux qui t’ont humiliée, et ils adoreront les traces de tes pieds, tous ceux qui te décriaient, et ils t’appelleront la cité du Seigneur, la Sion du saint d’Israël.
The sonnes also of them that afflicted thee, shall come and bowe vnto thee: and all they that despised thee, shall fall downe at the soles of thy feete: and they shall call thee, The citie of the Lord, Zion of the Holy one of Israel.
15 Parce que tu as été délaissée et haïe, et qu’il n’y avait personne qui te traversât, je t’établirai l’orgueil des siècles, et la joie pour toutes les générations.
Where as thou hast bene forsaken and hated: so that no man went by thee, I will make thee an eternall glorie, and a ioye from generation to generation.
16 Et tu suceras le lait des nations, et de la mamelle des rois tu seras nourrie; et tu sauras que je suis le Seigneur qui te sauve, et ton rédempteur le fort de Jacob.
Thou shalt also sucke ye milke of the Gentiles, and shalt sucke the breastes of Kings: and thou shalt know, that I the Lord am thy Sauiour, and thy Redeemer, the mightie one of Iaakob.
17 Au lieu d’airain j’apporterai de l’or, et au lieu de fer j’apporterai de l’argent; et au lieu de bois, de l’airain, et au lieu de pierre, du fer; je te donnerai pour gouvernement la paix, et pour préposés, la justice.
For brasse will I bring golde, and for yron will I bring siluer, and for wood brasse, and for stones yron. I will also make thy gouernement peace, and thine exactours righteousnesse.
18 On n’entendra plus parler d’iniquité dans ta terre, de ravage et de destruction dans tes confins; et le salut occupera tes murs, et la louange tes portes.
Violence shall no more be heard of in thy land, neither desolation, nor destruction within thy borders: but thou shalt call saluation, thy walles, and praise, thy gates.
19 Tu n’auras plus le soleil pour éclairer pendant le jour, et la clarté de la lune ne luira pas sur toi; mais le Seigneur sera ta lumière éternelle, et ton Dieu ta gloire.
Thou shalt haue no more sunne to shine by day, neither shall the brightnesse of the moone shine vnto thee: for the Lord shall be thine euerlasting light, and thy God, thy glorie.
20 Ton soleil ne se couchera plus, et ta lune ne diminuera pas; parce que le Seigneur sera ta lumière éternelle, et que les jours de ton deuil seront finis.
Thy sunne shall neuer goe downe, neither shall thy moone be hid: for the Lord shalbe thine euerlasting light, and the dayes of thy sorowe shalbe ended.
21 Quant à ton peuple, tous seront justes; pour toujours ils posséderont la terre en héritage; il sera le rejeton de ma plantation, l’œuvre de ma main pour me glorifier.
Thy people also shalbe all righteous: they shall possesse the land for euer, the grasse of my planting shalbe the worke of mine handes, that I may be glorified.
22 Le moindre de tes citoyens en produira mille, et le plus petit une nation très puissante; moi le Seigneur, en son temps je ferai soudain cela.
A litle one shall become as a thousande, and a small one as a strong nation: I the Lord wil hasten it in due time.
