Isaïe 27
1 En ce jour-là Dieu visitera avec son glaive dur et grand et fort, Léviathan, serpent levier, Léviathan, serpent tortueux, et il tuera le grand poisson qui est dans la mer.
In that day the LORD will take His sharp, great, and mighty sword, and bring judgment on Leviathan the fleeing serpent —Leviathan the coiling serpent—and He will slay the dragon of the sea.
2 En ce jour-là la vigne du vin pur le chantera.
In that day: “Sing about a fruitful vineyard.
3 Moi, le Seigneur qui la garde, je l’arroserai soudain; de peur qu’elle ne soit endommagée, nuit et jour je la garde.
I, the LORD, am its keeper; I water it continually. I guard it night and day so no one can disturb it;
4 Je n’ai pas d’indignation; qui me donnera une épine ou une ronce dans le combat? je marcherai dessus, et j’y mettrai aussi le feu?
I am not angry. If only thorns and briers confronted Me, I would march and trample them, I would burn them to the ground.
5 Ou plutôt retiendra-t-il ma puissance, fera-t-il la paix avec moi, fera-t-il la paix avec moi?
Or let them lay claim to My protection; let them make peace with Me— yes, let them make peace with Me.”
6 Ceux qui entrent impétueusement dans Jacob, Israël fleurira et germera pour eux, et ils rempliront la face du globe de semence.
In the days to come, Jacob will take root. Israel will bud and blossom and fill the whole world with fruit.
7 Est-ce que le Seigneur a frappé Israël d’une plaie semblable à celle dont l’a frappé l’ennemi? ou Israël a-t-il été tué, comme le Seigneur a tué ceux qu’il a tués à l’ennemi?
Has the LORD struck Israel as He struck her oppressors? Was she killed like those who slayed her?
8 C’est avec mesure contre mesure que lorsqu’elle sera rejetée, vous la jugerez; le Seigneur a médité en son esprit sévère pour le jour d’une chaleur extrême.
By warfare and exile You contended with her and removed her with a fierce wind, as on the day the east wind blows.
9 C’est pourquoi de cette manière sera remise son iniquité à la maison de Jacob; et tout le fruit de ce châtiment, c’est que son péché soit expié, lorsqu’Israël aura brisé toutes les pierres de l’autel comme des pierres de chaux, et que ne seront plus debout les bois sacrés et les temples.
Therefore Jacob’s guilt will be atoned for, and the full fruit of the removal of his sin will be this: When he makes all the altar stones like crushed bits of chalk, no Asherah poles or incense altars will remain standing.
10 Car la cité fortifiée sera désolée, la belle ville sera délaissée et abandonnée comme un désert; là paîtra le veau, et là il se reposera, et mangera les sommités de ses rameaux.
For the fortified city lies deserted— a homestead abandoned, a wilderness forsaken. There the calves graze, and there they lie down; they strip its branches bare.
11 Ses moissons, desséchées, seront broyées; des femmes viendront et l’instruiront; car ce n’est pas un peuple sage; à cause de cela, il n’aura pas pitié de lui, celui qui l’a fait; et celui qui l’a formé ne l’épargnera pas.
When its limbs are dry, they are broken off. Women come and use them for kindling; for this is a people without understanding. Therefore their Maker has no compassion on them, and their Creator shows them no favor.
12 Et il arrivera en ce jour-là que le Seigneur frappera depuis le lit du fleuve jusqu’au torrent de l’Egypte; et vous, vous serez rassemblés un à un, fils d’Israël.
In that day the LORD will thresh from the flowing Euphrates to the Wadi of Egypt, and you, O Israelites, will be gathered one by one.
13 Et il arrivera en ce jour-là qu’on sonnera d’une grande trompette, et ils viendront de la terre des Assyriens, ceux qui y étaient perdus, et ceux qui avaient été jetés sur la terre d’Egypte, et ils adoreront le Seigneur sur la montagne sainte, à Jérusalem.
And in that day a great ram’s horn will sound, and those who were perishing in Assyria will come forth with those who were exiles in Egypt. And they will worship the LORD on the holy mountain in Jerusalem.
