Osée 1
1 Parole du Seigneur qui fut adressée à Osée, fils de Bééri, dans les jours d’Ozias, de Joathan, d’Achaz et d’Ezéchias, rois de Juda, et dans les jours de Jéroboam, fils de Joas, roi d’Israël.
The word of the Lord that came to Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam, the son of Joash, king of Israel.
2 Commencement des paroles du Seigneur par Osée; et le Seigneur dit à Osée: Va, prends pour toi une femme de fornications, et des enfants de fornications; parce que forniquant la terre forniquera en se séparant du Seigneur.
The beginning of the Lord’s conversation with Hosea. And the Lord said to Hosea: “Go, take to yourself a wife of fornications, and make for yourself sons of fornications, because, by fornicating, the land will fornicate away from the Lord.”
3 Et il alla, et il prit Gomer, fille de Débelaïm; et elle conçut, et elle lui enfanta un fils.
And he went out and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; and she conceived and bore him a son.
4 Et le Seigneur dit à Osée: Appelle son nom Jezrahel; parce qu’encore un peu de temps, et je visiterai le sang de Jezrahel sur la maison de Jéhu, et je ferai cesser le royaume de la maison d’Israël.
And the Lord said to him: “Call his name Jezreel because, after a little while, I will visit the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and I will put the kingdom of the house of Israel to rest.
5 Et en ce jour-là, je briserai l’arc d’Israël dans la vallée de Jezrahel.
And in that day, I will crush the stronghold of Israel in the valley of Jezreel.”
6 Et elle conçut encore, et elle enfanta une fille. Et le Seigneur dit à Osée: Appelle son nom, Sans miséricorde; parce qu’à l’avenir je n’aurai plus de pitié pour la maison d’Israël, mais que je les oublierai entièrement.
And after a while, she conceived and bore a daughter. And he said to him: “Call her name, Without Mercy, for I will no longer have mercy on the house of Israel, but I will utterly forget them.
7 Et j’aurai pitié de la maison de Juda, et je les sauverai par le Seigneur leur Dieu, et je ne les sauverai pas par l’arc, par le glaive, et par la guerre, et par les chevaux et par les cavaliers.
Yet I will have mercy on the house of Judah, and I will save them by the Lord their God. And I will not save them by bow and sword and battle and horses and horsemen.”
8 Et Gomer sevra sa fille qui était appelée Sans miséricorde. Et elle conçut et elle enfanta un fils.
And she weaned her, who was called Without Mercy. And she conceived and bore a son.
9 Et Dieu dit: Appelle son nom, Non mon peuple, parce que vous n’êtes plus mon peuple, et que moi je ne serai pas pour vous.
And he said: “Call his name, Not My People, for you are not my people, and I will not be yours.
10 Et le nombre des enfants d’Israël sera comme le sable de la mer, qui est sans mesure, et qui ne se comptera pas, et dans le lieu où il leur sera dit: Vous n’êtes pas mon peuple, il leur sera dit: Vous êtes les fils du Dieu vivant.
And the number of the sons of Israel will be like the sand of the sea, which is without measure and cannot be numbered. And in the place where it will be said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ this will happen: it will be said to them, ‘You are the sons of the living God.’
11 Et les fils de Juda et les fils d’Israël se réuniront ensemble; et ils se donneront un seul chef, et ils s’élèveront de la terre, parce que grand est le jour de Jezrahel.
And the sons of Judah, and the sons of Israel, will be gathered together. And they will place over themselves one head, and they will rise up from the earth, for great is the day of Jezreel.”
