Osée 5
1 Écoutez ceci, prêtres, et soyez attentive, maison d’Israël; et, maison du roi, prêtez l’oreille; parce que c’est contre vous que le jugement est préparé, parce que vous êtes devenus un lacs dans un lieu d’observation, et un rets tendu sur le Thabor.
Hear this, you priests! Pay attention, house of Israel! Listen, members of the royal family!
2 Et vous avez détourné des victimes en les faisant tomber dans un endroit profond; et moi je les ai tous instruits.
Judgment belongs with you because you have been a snare set at Mizpah and a net spread out on Tabor. You dug a deep trap in Shittim, but I will punish you for all these things you have done.
3 Moi, je connais Ephraïm, et Israël ne m’est point caché; je sais que maintenant Ephraïm a forniqué, qu’Israël s’est souillé.
I know Ephraim very well, and Israel cannot hide from me, for now Ephraim is a prostitute and Israel is defiled.
4 Ils n’appliqueront pas leurs pensées à revenir à leur Dieu, parce que l’esprit de fornication est au milieu d’eux, et qu’ils n’ont pas connu le Seigneur.
Your actions stop you from coming back to your God for a spirit of prostitution is within you and you do not know the Lord.
5 Et l’arrogance d’Israël lui répondra en face; et Israël et Ephraïm tomberont par leur iniquité, et Juda tombera avec eux.
Israel's pride speaks against them, right in the face. Israel and Ephraim will stumble because of their guilt, and Judah will stumble along with them.
6 Avec leurs troupeaux de menu et de gros bétail, ils iront pour chercher le Seigneur et ils ne le trouveront pas; il s’est retiré d’eux.
They will go to seek the Lord with their herds and flocks, but they will not find him, for he has given up on them.
7 C’est contre le Seigneur qu’ils ont prévariqué, parce qu’ils ont engendré des enfants étrangers; maintenant un mois les dévorera avec leurs biens.
They have been unfaithful to the Lord and have had children that are not his. Now the New Moon will destroy them along with their fields.
8 Sonnez du cor dans Gabaa, de la trompette à Rama; hurlez à Bethaven, et arrière, toi, ô Benjamin.
Blow the horn in Gibeah! Sound the trumpet in Ramah! Shout an alarm in Beth-aven! Lead the way, Benjamin!
9 Ephraïm sera dans la désolation au jour du châtiment; dans les tribus d’Israël j’ai montré ma fidélité.
Ephraim will be left desolate on the day of punishment. Among the tribes of Israel I will reveal what is the real truth.
10 Les princes de Juda sont devenus comme ceux qui enlèvent une borne; sur eux je répandrai comme l’eau ma colère.
The rulers of Judah have become thieves like those who illegally move boundaries. I will pour out my anger like water upon them.
11 Ephraïm souffre l’oppression, brisé par le jugement, parce qu’il s’est mis à aller après les ordures.
The people of Ephraim are crushed, smashed to pieces in judgment because they were determined to follow human commands.
12 Et moi, je suis pour Ephraïm comme la teigne, et comme la gangrène pour la maison de Juda.
I am like a maggot to Ephraim, and like something rotten to the people of Judah.
13 Et Ephraïm a vu sa langueur, et Juda ses liens; et Ephraïm est allé vers Assur, et il a envoyé vers un roi vengeur, et lui-même ne pourra vous guérir, et ne pourra rompre vos liens.
When Ephraim saw how sick they were, and Judah saw how wounded they were, Ephraim turned to the great king of Assyria for help, but he could not heal them or cure their wounds.
14 Parce que moi, je suis comme une lionne à Ephraïm, et comme le petit d’un lion à la maison de Juda; moi, moi, je saisirai et je m’en irai; j’emporterai et il n’y a personne qui arrachera de mes mains.
For I will be like a lion to Ephraim, like a fierce lion to the people of Judah. I will come and tear them to pieces, and carry them off, and no one will be able to rescue them.
15 Allant, je retournerai en mon lieu, jusqu’à ce que vous tombiez en défaillance et que vous cherchiez ma face.
Then I will leave and return to where I came from until they acknowledge their wrongs, and in their distress they will seek my face and beg for my help.”
