Osée 12
1 Ephraïm se repaît de vent et poursuit un air brûlant; tout le jour il multiplie le mensonge et la dévastation; il a fait alliance avec les Assyriens et il portait de l’huile en Egypte.
Effraym fedith wynd, and sueth heete. Al dai he multiplieth leesyng, and distriyng; and he made boond of pees with Assiriens, and bar oile in to Egipt.
2 Voici donc venir le jugement du Seigneur avec Juda, et sa visite sur Jacob; il lui rendra selon ses voies et ses inventions.
Therfor the doom of the Lord is with Juda, and visityng is on Jacob; bi the weies of hym, and bi the fyndyngis of hym he schal yelde to hym.
3 Dans le sein maternel il supplanta son frère; par sa force il lutta avec l’ange.
In the wombe he supplauntide his brother, and in his strengthe he was dressid with the aungel.
4 Et il prévalut contre l’ange et il fut fortifié; il pleura, et le pria: il le trouva à Béthel, et là le Seigneur nous parla.
And he was strong to the aungel, and was coumfortid; he wepte, and preiede hym; in Bethel he foond hym, and there he spak with vs.
5 Et le Seigneur, le Dieu des armées, le Seigneur devint l’objet de son souvenir.
And the Lord God of oostis, the Lord, is the memorial of hym.
6 Et toi, Israël, à ton Dieu tu te convertiras; garde la miséricorde et le jugement, et espère en ton Dieu, toujours.
And thou schalt turne to thi God. Kepe thou merci and doom, and hope thou euere in thi God.
7 Quant à Chanaan, dans sa main est une balance trompeuse; il a aimé l’oppression.
Chanaan louyde fals caleng, a gileful balaunce in his hond.
8 Et Ephraïm a dit: Cependant je suis devenu riche, j’ai trouvé une idole pour moi; aucun de mes travaux ne trouvera l’iniquité par laquelle j’ai péché.
And Effraym seide, Netheles Y am maad riche, Y haue founde an idol to me; alle my trauelis schulen not fynde to me the wickidnesse, whiche Y synnede.
9 Et moi, je suis le Seigneur ton Dieu, depuis que je t’ai retiré de la terre d’Egypte; je te ferai encore demeurer dans des tabernacles comme aux jours de fête.
And Y am thi Lord God fro the lond of Egipt; yit Y schal make thee to sitte in tabernaclis, as in the daies of feeste.
10 Et j’ai parlé aux prophètes, et c’est moi qui ai multiplié les visions; et par le ministère des prophètes j’ai été assimilé aux hommes.
And Y spak bi profetis, and Y multiplied profesie, and Y was licned in the hond of profetis.
11 Si Galaad était une idole, c’est donc en vain qu’ils sacrifiaient aux bœufs de Galgal; car leurs autels sont comme des monceaux de pierre sur les sillons des champs.
If Galaad worschipith an idol, therfor thei erren in veyn offryng to oxis in Galgal; for whi and the auteris of hem schulen be as heepis on the forewis of the feeld.
12 Jacob a fui dans la contrée de Syrie, et Israël a servi pour une femme, et pour une autre femme il a servi.
Jacob fledde in to the cuntrei of Sirie, and Israel seruyde for a wijf, and seruyde, ether kepte, for a wijf.
13 Par un prophète, le Seigneur a tiré Israël de l’Egypte, et par un prophète il a été conservé.
But bi a profete the Lord ledde Israel out of Egipt, and bi a profete he was kept.
14 Par ses plaintes amères, Ephraïm m’a provoqué au courroux; et son sang retombera sur lui, et son opprobre, le Seigneur le lui rendra.
Effraym terride me to wrathfulnesse in hise bitternessis, and the blood of hym schal come on hym; and his Lord schal restore to hym the schenschipe of him.
