Genèse 5
1 Voici le livre de la génération d’Adam. Au jour que Dieu créa l’homme, c’est à la ressemblance de Dieu qu’il le fit.
This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
2 Il créa un homme et une femme, et il les bénit: et il les appela du nom d’Adam, au jour où ils furent créés.
male and female created he them, and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
3 Or Adam vécut cent trente ans, et il engendra un fils à son image et à sa ressemblance, et il l’appela du nom de Seth.
And Adam lived a hundred and thirty years, and begat [a son] in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:
4 Et les jours d’Adam, après qu’il eut engendré Seth, furent de huit cents ans; et il eut encore des fils et des filles.
and the days of Adam after he begat Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters.
5 Ainsi tout le temps que vécut Adam fut de neuf cent trente ans, et il mourut.
And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.
6 Seth aussi vécut cent cinq ans, et il engendra Enos.
And Seth lived a hundred and five years, and begat Enosh:
7 Et Seth vécut, après qu’il eut engendré Enos, huit cent sept ans, et il eut des fils et des filles.
and Seth lived after he begat Enosh eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters:
8 Ainsi tous les jours de Seth furent de neuf cent douze ans, et il mourut.
and all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.
9 Enos vécut quatre-vingt-dix ans, et engendra Caïnan,
And Enosh lived ninety years, and begat Kenan:
10 Après la naissance duquel il vécut huit cent quinze ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
and Enosh lived after he begat Kenan eight hundred and fifteen years, and begat sons and daughters:
11 Ainsi tous les jours d’Enos furent de neuf cent cinq ans, et il mourut.
and all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years: and he died.
12 Caïnan vécut soixante-dix ans, et il engendra Malaléel.
And Kenan lived seventy years, and begat Mahalalel:
13 Et Caïnan vécut, après qu’il eut engendré Malaléel, huit cent quarante ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
and Kenan lived after he begat Mahalalel eight hundred and forty years, and begat sons and daughters:
14 Ainsi tous les jours de Caïnan furent de neuf cent dix ans, et il mourut.
and all the days of Kenan were nine hundred and ten years: and he died.
15 Quant à Malaléel, il vécut soixante-cinq ans, et il engendra Jared.
And Mahalalel lived sixty and five years, and begat Jared:
16 Et Malaléel vécut, après qu’il eut engendré Jared, huit cent trente ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
and Mahalalel lived after he begat Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters:
17 Ainsi tous les jours de Malaléel furent de huit cent quatrevingt-quinze ans, et il mourut.
and all the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred ninety and five years: and he died.
18 Jared vécut soixante-deux ans, et il engendra Hénoch.
And Jared lived a hundred sixty and two years, and begat Enoch:
19 Et Jared vécut, après qu’il eut engendré Hénoch, huit cents ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
and Jared lived after he begat Enoch eight hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
20 Ainsi tous les jours de Jared furent de neuf cent soixante-deux ans, et il mourut.
and all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years: and he died.
21 Hénoch vécut soixante-cinq ans, et il engendra Mathusala.
And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:
22 Or Hénoch marcha avec Dieu, et vécut, après qu’il eut engendré Mathusala, trois cents ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
and Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
23 Ainsi tous les jours d’Hénoch furent de trois cent soixante cinq ans.
and all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
24 Il marcha donc avec Dieu, et il ne parut plus, parce que Dieu l’enleva.
and Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
25 Mathusala aussi vécut cent quatre-vingt-sept ans, et il engendra Lamech.
And Methuselah lived a hundred eighty and seven years, and begat Lamech:
26 Or Mathusala vécut, après qu’il eut engendré Lamech, sept cent quatre-vingt-deux ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
and Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and begat sons and daughters:
27 Ainsi tous les jours de Mathusala furent de neuf cent soixante-neuf ans, et il mourut.
and all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died.
28 Lamech vécut cent quatre-vingt-deux ans, et il engendra un fils.
And Lamech lived a hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son:
29 Il l’appela du nom de Noé, disant: Celui-ci nous consolera des œuvres et des travaux pénibles de nos mains dans cette terre qu’a maudite le Seigneur.
and he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us in our work and in the toil of our hands, [which cometh] because of the ground which Jehovah hath cursed.
30 Et Lamech vécut, après qu’il eut engendré Noé, cinq cent quatre-vingt-quinze ans, et il engendra des fils et des filles.
And Lamech lived after he begat Noah five hundred ninety and five years, and begat sons and daughters:
31 Ainsi tous les jours de Lamech furent de sept cent soixante dix-sept ans, et il mourut. Mais Noé, lorsqu’il avait cinq cents ans, engendra Sem, Cham et Japheth.
And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven years: and he died.
And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
