Genèse 46
1 Israël donc partit avec tout ce qu’il avait, vint au Puits du Serment; et là, des victimes immolées au Dieu de son père Isaac,
And Israel commenced his journey with all that he had, and came to Beer-sheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.
2 Il l’entendit dans une vision de la nuit, l’appelant et lui disant: Jacob, Jacob. Il lui répondit: Me voici.
And God spoke unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.
3 Dieu lui dit: Je suis le Dieu très fort de ton père; ne crains point, descends en Égypte, parce que je te ferai père d’une grande nation en ce pays.
And he said, I am God, the God of thy father; fear not to go down into Egypt; for a great nation will I make of thee there:
4 Moi-même je descendrai là avec toi, et moi-même je t’en ramènerai, lorsque tu en reviendras: et Joseph posera ses mains sur tes yeux.
I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again; and Joseph shall put his hand upon thy eyes.
5 Jacob donc se leva du Puits du Serment, et ses fils le portèrent avec leurs petits enfants et leurs femmes sur les chars que Pharaon avait envoyés pour transporter le vieillard.
And Jacob rose up from Beer-sheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.
6 Et tout ce qu’il possédait dans la terre de Chanaan: il arriva donc en Égypte avec toute sa lignée,
And they took their cattle and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt; Jacob, and all his seed with him:
7 Ses fils, ses petits-fils, ses filles et toute sa race ensemble.
His sons, and his son's sons with him, his daughters, and his sons' daughters, and all his seed he brought with him into Egypt.
8 Or voici les noms des fils d’Israël, qui entrèrent en Égypte, lorsqu’il vint avec ses enfants. Le premier-né était Ruben.
And these are the names of the children of Israel, that came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: the first-born of Jacob, Reuben.
9 Les fils de Ruben: Hénoch, Phallu, Hesron et Charmi.
And the sons of Reuben: Chanoch, and Pallu, and Chezron, and Carmi.
10 Les fils de Siméon: Jamuel, Jamin, Ahod, Jachin, Sohar et Saül fils d’une Chananéenne.
And the sons of Simeon: Yemuel, and Yamin, and Ohad, and Yachin, and Zochar, and Shaul the son of the Canaanitish woman.
11 Les fils de Lévi: Gerson, Caath et Mérari.
And the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kehath, and Merari.
12 Les fils de Juda: Her, Onan, Séla, Pharès et Zara; mais Her et Onan moururent dans le pays de Chanaan. Et naquirent à Pharès, les fils Hesron et Hamul.
And the sons of Judah: 'Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Perez, and Zerach; but 'Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan, and the sons of Perez were Chezron and Chamul.
13 Les fils d’Issachar: Thola, Phua, Job et Semron.
And the sons of Issachar: Tola, and Puvah, and Yob, and Shimron.
14 Les fils de Zabulon: Sared, Elon et Jahélel.
And the sons of Zebulun: Sered, and Elon, and Yachleel.
15 Ce sont là les fils de Lia qu’elle enfanta en Mésopotamie de Syrie, avec Dina sa fille; toutes les âmes de ses fils et de ses filles furent trente-trois.
These are the sons of Leah, whom she bore unto Jacob in Padan-aram, with Dinah his daughter: all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty and three.
16 Les fils de Gad: Séphion, Haggi, Suni, Esébon, Héri, Arodi et Aréli.
And the sons of Gad: Ziphyon, and Chaggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, 'Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.
17 Les fils d’Aser: Jamné, Jésua, Jessui et Béria, et aussi Sara leur sœur. Les fils de Béria: Héber et Melchiel.
And the sons of Asher: Yimnah, and Yishvah, and Yishvi, and Beriah, and Serach their sister; and the sons of Beriah: Cheber, and Malkiel.
18 Ce sont là les fils de Zelpha que donna Laban à Lia sa fille, et qui les enfanta à Jacob: seize âmes.
These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, and she bore these unto Jacob, sixteen souls.
19 Les fils de Rachel femme de Jacob: Joseph et Benjamin.
The sons of Rachel, Jacob's wife: Joseph and Benjamin.
20 Et il naquit à Joseph dans la terre d’Égypte des fils que lui enfanta Aseneth, fille de Putiphar, prêtre d’Héliopolis: Manassé et Ephraïm.
And there were born unto Joseph in the land of Egypt Menasseh and Ephraim, whom Assenath the daughter of Poti-phera', the priest of On, bore unto him.
21 Les fils de Benjamin: Béla, Béchor, Asbel, Géra, Naaman, Echi, Ros, Mophim, Ophim, et Ared.
And the sons of Benjamin: Bela', and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Echi, and Rosh, Muppim and Chuppim, and Ard.
22 Ce sont là les fils de Rachel qu’elle engendra à Jacob: en tout quatorze âmes.
These are the sons of Rachel, that were born to Jacob: in all fourteen souls.
23 Les fils de Dan: Husim.
And the son of Dan: Chushim.
24 Les fils de Nephtali: Jasiel, Guni, Jéser et Sallem.
And the sons of Naphtali: Yachzeel, and Guni, and Yezer, and Shillem.
25 Ce sont là les fils de Bala que donna Laban à Rachel sa fille, et qu’elle enfanta à Jacob en tout sept âmes.
These are the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and she bore these unto Jacob, in all seven souls.
26 Toutes les âmes qui entrèrent avec Jacob en Égypte, et qui étaient issues de lui, sans les femmes de ses fils, furent soixante-six;
All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, that came out of his loins, besides the wives of Jacob's sons, were in all sixty and six souls.
27 Mais les fils de Joseph qui lui naquirent dans la terre d’Égypte, deux âmes. Toutes les âmes de la maison de Jacob qui entrèrent en Égypte, furent soixante-dix.
And the sons of Joseph, who were born him in Egypt, were two souls; all the souls of the house of Jacob, that came into Egypt, were seventy.
28 Or Jacob envoya Juda devant lui vers Joseph, afin qu’on l’avertît, et qu’il vînt à sa rencontre dans la terre de Gessen.
And Judah he sent before him unto Joseph, to direct him beforehand unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen.
29 Lorsqu’il y fut arrivé, Joseph, son char attelé, monta au même lieu à la rencontre de son père; et le voyant, il se jeta à son cou, et, au milieu des embrassements, il pleura.
And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen; and when he obtained sight of him, he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.
30 Et le père dit à Joseph: Maintenant je mourrai joyeux, puisque j’ai vu ta face, et que je te laisse vivant après moi.
And Israel said unto Joseph, Let me die now, since I have seen thy face, that thou art yet alive.
31 Mais Joseph dit à ses frères et à toute la maison de son père: Je monterai et je porterai la nouvelle à Pharaon, et je lui dirai: Mes frères et la maison de mon père qui étaient dans la terre de Chanaan, sont venus vers moi.
And Joseph said unto his brothers, and unto his father's house, I will go up, and tell Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brothers and my father's house, who were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;
32 Ce sont des hommes pasteurs de brebis, et ils ont soin d’élever des troupeaux; leur menu et leur gros bétail et tout ce qu’ils pouvaient avoir, ils l’ont amené avec eux.
And the men are shepherds, for they have been owners of cattle; and their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have, they have brought along.
33 Lors donc qu’il vous appellera et demandera: Quelle est votre occupation?
And it shall come to pass, if Pharaoh should have you called, and say, What is your occupation?
34 Vous répondrez: Nous vos serviteurs, nous sommes des hommes pasteurs depuis notre enfance jusqu’à présent, et nous et nos pères. Or vous direz cela, afin que vous puissiez demeurer dans la terre de Gessen; car les Égyptiens détestent tous les pasteurs de brebis.
That ye shall say, Owners of cattle have thy servants been from our youth even until now, both we, as also our fathers; in order that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.
