Esdras 1
1 En la première année de Cyrus, roi des Perses, afin que fût accomplie la parole du Seigneur, annoncée par la bouche de Jérémie, le Seigneur suscita l’esprit de Cyrus, roi des Perses, et fit publier dans tout son royaume un édit, même par écrit, disant:
Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and [put it] also in writing, saying,
2 Voici ce que dit Cyrus, roi des Perses: Le Seigneur Dieu du ciel m’a donné tous les royaumes de la terre, et lui-même m’a ordonné de lui bâtir une maison à Jérusalem, qui est dans la Judée.
Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which [is] in Judah.
3 Qui est parmi vous de tout son peuple? Que son Dieu soit avec lui; qu’il monte à Jérusalem, qui est en Judée, et qu’il bâtisse la maison du Seigneur Dieu d’Israël; c’est le Dieu qui est à Jérusalem;
Who [is there] among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which [is] in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he [is] the God, ) who [is] in Jerusalem.
4 Et que tous les autres, dans tous les lieux où ils habitent, les hommes de son lieu, l’aident en argent, en or, en biens et en troupeaux, outre ce qu’ils offrent volontairement au temple de Dieu qui est à Jérusalem.
And whoever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, besides the free-will-offering for the house of God that [is] in Jerusalem.
5 Alors se levèrent les princes des pères de Juda et de Benjamin, les prêtres, les Lévites, et tous ceux dont Dieu suscita l’esprit, pour monter afin de bâtir le temple du Seigneur qui était à Jérusalem.
Then arose the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all [them] whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the LORD which [is] in Jerusalem.
6 Et tous ceux qui étaient dans les environs mirent en leurs mains des vases d’argent et d’or, les biens, les troupeaux, et les meubles, outre ce qu’ils avaient spontanément offert.
And all they that [were] about them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, besides all [that] was willingly offered.
7 Le roi Cyrus remit aussi les vases du temple du Seigneur, que Nabuchodonosor avait emportés de Jérusalem, et qu’il avait mis dans le temple de son dieu.
Also Cyrus the king brought forth the vessels of the house of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought from Jerusalem, and had put them in the house of his gods;
8 Or Cyrus, roi des Perses, les rendit par l’entremise de Mithridate, fils de Gazabar, et les compta à Sassabasar, prince de Juda.
Even those did Cyrus king of Persia bring forth by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbered them to Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah.
9 Et en voici le nombre: Trente fioles d’or, mille fioles d’argent, vingt-neuf couteaux, trente coupes d’or;
And this [is] the number of them: thirty chargers of gold, a thousand chargers of silver, nine and twenty knives,
10 Quatre cent dix coupes d’argent du second ordre; mille autres vases.
Thirty basins of gold, silver basins of a second [sort] four hundred and ten, [and] other vessels a thousand.
11 Tous les vases d’or et d’argent, cinq mille quatre cents: Sassabasar les remporta tous avec les Juifs qui montaient de la transmigration de Babylone à Jérusalem.
All the vessels of gold and of silver [were] five thousand and four hundred. All [these] did Sheshbazzar bring with [them of] the captivity that were brought from Babylon to Jerusalem.
