Ézéchiel 4

1 Et toi, fils d’un homme, prends une brique, mets-la devant toi, et tu y traceras la cité de Jérusalem.

Thou therefore O son of man Take thee a tile, and lay it before thee, —and portray thereon a city, even Jerusalem.

2 Et tu disposeras contre elle un siège, et tu bâtiras des fortifications, tu formeras un rempart, tu établiras contre elle des camps, et tu mettras des béliers autour.

Then shalt thou lay siege against it And build up against it a siege-wall And cast up against it, a mound, — And set against it camps, And place against it battering-rams, round about.

3 Et toi, prends pour toi une poêle de fer, et tu la placeras comme un mur de fer entre toi et entre la cité; tu dirigeras fixement ta face contre elle, et elle sera assiégée, et tu l’entoureras; c’est un signe pour la maison d’Israël.

Thou, therefore take thee a pan of iron, and set it for a wall of iron, between thee and the city, —then shalt thou direct thy face against it and it shall come into siege and thou shalt lay siege to it, a sign, shall it be to the house of Israel.

4 Et toi, tu dormiras sur ton côté gauche, et tu mettras sur ce côté là les iniquités de la maison d’Israël, selon le nombre de jours que tu dormiras, et tu prendras sur toi leurs iniquités.

Thou, therefore lie thou on thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it, — during the number of the days which thou shalt lie thereon, shalt thou bear their punishment.

5 Pour moi, je t’ai donné les années de leur iniquité, au nombre de trois cent quatre-vingt-dix jours; et tu porteras l’iniquité de la maison d’Israël.

I therefore have appointed thee the years of their punishment, by the number of days a hundred and ninety days, —so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.

6 Et, quand tu auras accompli cela, tu dormiras une seconde fois sur ton côté droit, et tu prendras sur toi l’iniquité de la maison de Juda pendant quarante jours; c’est un jour pour une année; un jour, dis-je, pour une année, que je t’ai donné.

And when thou hast ended these, then shalt thou lie, on thy right side. a second time, and shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah, — forty days, one day for each year, have I appointed thee.

7 Et vers le siège de Jérusalem tu tourneras ta face, et ton bras sera étendu, et tu prophétiseras contre elle.

Thus then unto the siege of Jerusalem, shalt thou direct thy face, with thine arm made bare, —so shalt thou prophesy against it.

8 Voilà que je t’ai environné de chaînes, et tu ne te retourneras pas d’un de tes côtés sur l’autre côté, jusqu’à ce que tu aies accompli les jours de ton siège.

And lo! I have laid upon thee-bands, —and thou shalt not turn thee from thy one side to thine other, until thou have ended the days of thy siege.

9 Et toi, prends pour toi du froment, de l’orge, des fèves, des lentilles, du millet et de la vesce, et tu les mettras dans un seul vase, et tu t’en feras des pains, selon le nombre de jours que tu dormiras sur ton côté; pendant trois cent quatre-vingt-dix jours, tu mangeras cela.

Thou, therefore, take thee wheat and barley and peas and lentils and millet and spelt, and put them in one vessel, and make them ready for thee as bread, —during the number of days which thou art lying on thy side. a hundred and ninety days, shalt thou eat it;

10 Or l’aliment dont tu te nourriras sera du poids de vingt statères par jour, et tu en mangeras d’un temps à un temps.

and thy food which thou shalt eat shall be by weight twenty shekels a day, — from time to time, shalt thou eat it;

11 Et l’eau, tu en boiras par mesure, la sixième partie d’un hin; et tu la boiras d’un temps à un temps.

and water by measure, shalt thou drink the sixth part of a hin, -from time to time shalt thou drink;

12 Et tu le mangeras comme un pain d’orge cuit sous la cendre; et de l’ordure qui sort de l’homme, tu le couvriras à leurs yeux.

and as a barley cake, shalt thou eat it, —and the same with dung proceeding from man, shalt thou bake, before their eyes.

13 Et dit le Seigneur: C’est ainsi que les enfants d’Israël mangeront leur pain souillé parmi les nations vers lesquelles je les chasserai.

Then said Yahweh, In like manner, shall the sons of Israel eat their bread defiled, —among the nations whither I will drive them.

14 Et je dis: Ah! ah! ah! Seigneur Dieu, voilà que mon âme n’a pas été souillée; et je n’ai pas mangé d’animal crevé, ni déchiré par des bêtes, depuis mon enfance jusqu’à maintenant, et il n’est entré dans ma bouche aucune chair immonde.

Then said, I, Ah! My Lord. Yahweh, lo! my person, hath not been defiled: neither of what hath died of itself nor of what hath been torn in pieces: have I eaten, from my youthful days even unto now, neither hath come into my mouth the flesh of a foul thing.

15 Et il me dit: Voilà que je t’ai donné la fiente des bœufs au lieu des excréments humains; et tu feras ton pain avec cette fiente.

So then he said unto me, See I have granted thee cow’s dung for man’s dung, —and thou shalt prepare thy bread thereupon.

16 Et il me dit: Fils d’un homme, voilà que moi je briserai le bâton du pain dans Jérusalem; et ils mangeront le pain au poids et dans l’inquiétude, et ils boiront l’eau par mesure et dans l’angoisse;

And he said unto me, Son of man Behold me! breaking the staff of bread in Jerusalem, So shall they eat bread by weight and with anxious care, And water by measure, and in astonishment, shall they drink:

17 Afin que, le pain et l’eau manquant, chacun tombe sur son frère et qu’ils se dessèchent dans leurs iniquités.

that they may lack bread and water and be astonished one with another, and pine away in their punishment.
