Ézéchiel 29
1 En la dixième année, au dixième mois, au onzième jour du mois, la parole du Seigneur me fut adressée, disant:
In the tenth year, in the tenth [month], on the twelfth of the month, the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
2 Fils d’un homme, tourne ta face contre Pharaon, roi d’Egypte, et tu prophétiseras sur lui et sur toute l’Egypte.
Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against the whole of Egypt;
3 Parle, et tu diras: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: Voilà que moi je viens vers toi, Pharaon, roi d’Egypte, grand dragon, qui te couches au milieu de tes fleuves, et dis: Le fleuve est à moi, et je me suis fait moi-même.
speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great monster that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which saith, My river is mine own, and I made it for myself.
4 Et je mettrai un frein à tes mâchoires, et j’attacherai les poissons de tes fleuves à tes écailles; et je te tirerai du milieu de tes fleuves, et tous les poissons s’attacheront à tes écailles,
And I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will cause the fish of thy rivers to stick unto thy scales, and I will bring thee up out of the midst of thy rivers, and all the fish of thy rivers shall stick unto thy scales;
5 Et je te jetterai dans le désert, toi et tous les poissons de ton fleuve; tu tomberas sur la face de la terre; tu ne seras ni recueilli ni ramassé; aux bêtes de la terre et aux volatiles du ciel, je t’ai donné pour être dévoré.
and I will cast thee into the wilderness, thee and all the fish of thy rivers: thou shalt fall upon the open field; thou shalt not be brought together nor gathered: I will give thee for meat to the beasts of the earth and to the fowl of the heavens.
6 Et tous les habitants de l’Egypte sauront que je suis le Seigneur, parce que tu as été un bâton de roseau pour la maison d’Israël.
And all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I [am] Jehovah, because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel.
7 Quand ils t’ont pris avec la main, tu t’es rompu, et tu leur as déchiré toute l’épaule; et lorsqu’ils se sont appuyés sur toi, tu as été mis en pièces, et tu as brisé tous leurs reins.
When they took hold of thee by thy hand, thou didst give way and rend all their shoulder; and when they leaned upon thee, thou didst break, and didst make all their loins to tremble.
8 À cause de cela, voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: Voilà que moi j’amènerai sur toi le glaive, et je tuerai de toi les hommes et les bêtes.
Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will bring a sword upon thee, and cut off man and beast from thee.
9 Et la terre de l’Egypte sera convertie en désert et en solitude; et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur, parce que tu as dit: Le fleuve est à moi, et c’est moi qui l’ai fait.
And the land of Egypt shall be a desolation and a waste: and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah, because he saith, The river is mine, and I made it.
10 C’est pourquoi voici que moi je viens vers toi et vers tes fleuves: et je ferai de la terre d’Egypte des solitudes, après qu’elle aura été ravagée par le glaive, depuis la tour de Syène jusqu’aux frontières de l’Ethiopie.
Therefore behold, I am against thee, and against thy rivers, and I will make the land of Egypt deserts of wasteness and desolation, from Migdol to Syene, even unto the border of Ethiopia.
11 Le pied d’un homme ne la traversera pas, et le pied d’une bête n’y marchera pas; et elle ne sera pas habitée pendant quarante ans.
No foot of man shall pass through it, nor shall foot of beast pass through it, nor shall it be inhabited, forty years.
12 Et je rendrai la terre d’Egypte déserte parmi des terres désertes, et ses cités ruinées parmi des villes ruinées, et elles seront désolées pendant quarante ans; et je disperserai les Egyptiens parmi les nations, et je les jetterai au vent dans les divers pays.
And I will make the land of Egypt a desolation in the midst of the countries that are desolated, and her cities shall be, in the midst of the cities that are laid waste, a desolation forty years; and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.
13 Parce que voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: Après la fin de quarante années, je rassemblerai les Egyptiens du milieu des peuples, parmi lesquels ils avaient été dispersés.
Yet thus saith the Lord Jehovah: At the end of forty years will I gather the Egyptians from the peoples whither they were scattered;
14 Et je ramènerai les captifs de l’Egypte, et je les établirai dans la terre de Phathurès, dans la terre de leur naissance, et là ils formeront un humble royaume;
and I will turn again the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return to the land of Pathros, into the land of their birth, and they shall there be a base kingdom.
15 Entre tous les royaumes, elle sera le plus humble, et elle ne s’élèvera plus au-dessus des nations; et je les affaiblirai, pour qu’ils ne commandent pas aux nations.
It shall be the basest of kingdoms; neither shall it exalt itself any more above the nations; and I will diminish them, so that they shall no more rule over the nations.
16 Et ils ne seront plus la confiance de la maison d’Israël, lui enseignant l’iniquité, afin qu’ils me fuient et qu’ils les suivent; et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur Dieu.
And it shall be no more the confidence of the house of Israel, bringing iniquity to remembrance, when they turn after them: and they shall know that I [am] the Lord Jehovah.
17 Et il arriva en la vingt-septième année, au premier mois, au premier jour du mois, que la parole du Seigneur me fut adressée, disant:
And it came to pass in the twenty-seventh year, in the first [month], on the first of the month, [that] the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,
18 Fils d’un homme, Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, a fait faire un grand travail à son armée contre Tyr; toute tête est devenue chauve, toute épaule s’est dépilée: et il ne lui a pas été donné de récompense, ni à son armée, au sujet de Tyr, pour le travail qu’il a fait pour moi contre elle.
Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon caused his army to do hard service against Tyre; every head was made bald, and every shoulder was peeled: yet had he from Tyre no wages, nor his army, for the service that he had served against it.
19 À cause de cela, voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: Voilà que moi j’établirai Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, dans la terre d’Egypte; et il en prendra la multitude, et il en fera son butin, et il enlèvera ses dépouilles; et ce sera une récompense pour son armée,
Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will give the land of Egypt unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall carry away her multitude, and seize her spoil, and take her prey; and it shall be the wages for his army.
20 Et pour le service qu’il m’a rendu contre Tyr; je lui ai donné la terre d’Egypte, parce qu’il a travaillé pour moi, dit le Seigneur Dieu.
I have given him the land of Egypt for his labour wherewith he served against it, because they wrought for me, saith the Lord Jehovah.
21 .En ce jour-là, une corne poussera à la maison d’Israël; pour toi, je t’ouvrirai la bouche au milieu d’eux; et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur.
In that day will I cause the horn of the house of Israel to bud forth, and I will give thee the opening of the mouth in the midst of them: and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah.
