Ézéchiel 25

1 Et la parole du Seigneur me fut adressée, disant:

And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

2 Fils d’un homme, tourne ta face contre les enfants d’Ammon, et tu prophétiseras sur eux.

Son of man, set thy face against the sons of 'Ammon, and prophesy against them;

3 Et tu diras aux fils d’Ammon: Ecoutez la parole du Seigneur Dieu: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: À cause que tu as dit: Très bien, très bien, au sujet de mon sanctuaire, parce qu’il a été souillé; et au sujet de la terre d’Israël, parce qu’elle a été désolée; et au sujet de la maison de Juda, parce qu’ils ont été emmenés en captivité;

And say unto the sons of 'Ammon, Hear ye the word of the Lord Eternal, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Because thou hast said, Aha, concerning my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and concerning the land of Israel, when it was made desolate; and concerning the house of Judah, when they went into exile:

4 À cause de cela, je te livrerai aux fils de l’Orient en héritage, et ils établiront les parcs de leurs troupeaux en toi, et ils dresseront en toi leurs tentes: ils mangeront eux-mêmes tes fruits, et ils boiront eux-mêmes ton lait.

Therefore, behold, I will give thee up to the children of the east for a possession, and they shall set up their towers in thee, and place in thee their dwellings; they shall indeed eat thy fruit, and they shall surely drink thy milk.

5 Et je rendrai Rabbath la demeure des chameaux, et la terre des fils d’Ammon le refuge des troupeaux: et vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur.

And I will change Rabbah into a pasture for camels, and [the land of] the sons of 'Ammon into a resting-place for flocks: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

6 Parce que voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: À cause que tu as battu des mains et frappé du pied, et que tu t’es réjouie de tout ton cœur au sujet de la terre d’Israël:

For thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Whereas thou didst clap thy hands, and stamp with thy feet, and rejoice with all thy derision in the soul over the land of Israel:

7 À cause de cela, voilà que moi j’étendrai ma main sur toi, et je te livrerai en proie aux nations, et je te retrancherai du milieu des peuples, et je t’effacerai de la terre, et je te briserai, et tu sauras que je suis le Seigneur.

Therefore, behold, will I stretch out my hand over thee, and will give thee up for a spoil to the nations; and I will cut thee off from the people, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries; I will destroy thee, and thou shalt know that I am the Lord.

8 Voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: À cause que Moab et Séïr ont dit: Voilà que comme toutes les nations est la maison de Juda;

Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Because Moab and Se'ir do say, Behold, the house of Judah is like all the nations:

9 À cause de cela, voilà que moi j’ouvrirai l’épaule de Moab, du côté des cités, de ses cités, dis-je, et du côté de ses confins j’ouvrirai les illustres cités, de la terre de Bethiésimoth, Béelméon et Cariathaïm,

Therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Beth-ha-yeshimoth, Ba'al-me'on, and Kiryathayim,

10 Aux fils de l’Orient avec les fils d’Ammon, et je la donnerai en héritage; afin qu’il n’y ait plus souvenir des fils d’Ammon parmi les nations.

Unto the children of the east [coming] against the sons of 'Ammon, and I will give them in possession; in order that the sons of 'Ammon may not be remembered among the nations.

11 Et dans Moab j’exercerai mes jugements; et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur.

And on Moab will I execute judgments: and they shall know that I am the Lord.

12 Voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: À cause que l’Idumée a tiré vengeance pour se venger des fils de Juda, et qu’elle a péché grièvement, et qu’elle a désiré avec ardeur de se venger;

Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Because the Edomites have acted revengefully against the house of Judah, and have greatly offended, and have taken vengeance on them:

13 À cause de cela, voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: J’étendrai ma main sur l’Idumée, et j’en enlèverai les hommes et les bêtes, et je la rendrai déserte du côté du midi, et ceux qui sont à Dédan tomberont sous le glaive.

Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, I will also stretch out my hand against Edom, and cut off from it man and beast; and I will make it a ruined land from Theman; and they of Dedan shall fall by the sword.

14 Et j’exercerai ma vengeance sur l’Idumée par la main de mon peuple Israël; et ils agiront en Edom selon ma colère et ma fureur: et ils sauront ma vengeance, dit le Seigneur Dieu.

And I will display my vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel; and they shall do in Edom according to my anger and according to my fury: and they shall feel my vengeance, saith the Lord Eternal.

15 Voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: À cause que les Philistins ont tiré vengeance, et qu’ils se sont vengés de tout leur cœur, tuant et satisfaisant d’anciennes inimitiés,

Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Because the Philistines have acted in revenge, and have taken vengeance with derision in their soul, to destroy out of ancient enmity:

16 À cause de cela, voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: Voilà que moi j’étendrai ma main sur les Philistins, et je tuerai ceux qui ont tué, et je perdrai les restes de la contrée maritime;

Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I will stretch out my hand against the Philistines, and I will cut off the Kerethim, and destroy the remnant of the [dwellers] of the sea-coast.

17 Et j’exercerai sur eux de grandes vengeances, les reprenant dans ma fureur, et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur, lorsque j’aurai exercé ma vengeance sur eux.

And I will execute on them great vengeances with furious chastisements: and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I display my vengeance on them.
