Ézéchiel 21
1 Et la parole du Seigneur me fut adressée, disant:
And the word of the Lord was maad to me,
2 Fils d’un homme, tourne ton visage vers Jérusalem; fais tomber tes paroles sur les sanctuaires, et prophétise contre la terre d’Israël;
and he seide, Thou, sone of man, sette thi face to Jerusalem, and droppe thou to the seyntuaries, and profesie thou ayens the erthe of Israel.
3 Et tu diras à la terre d’Israël: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: Voici que je viens vers toi; et je tirerai le glaive de son fourreau, et je tuerai en toi le juste et l’impie;
And thou schalt seie to the lond of Israel, The Lord God seith these thingis, Lo! Y to thee, and Y schal caste my swerd out of his schethe, and Y schal sle in thee a iust man and a wickid man.
4 Mais parce que j’ai tué en toi le juste et l’impie, pour cela même mon glaive sortira de son fourreau contre toute chair, du midi jusqu’à l’aquilon;
Forsothe for that that Y haue slayn in thee a iust man and a wickid man, therfor my swerd schal go out of his schethe to ech man, fro the south til to the north;
5 Afin que toute chair sache que moi le Seigneur j’ai tiré de son fourreau mon irrévocable glaive.
that ech man wite, that Y the Lord haue drawe out my swerd fro his schethe, that schal not be clepid ayen.
6 Et toi, fils d’un homme, gémis jusqu’au brisement de tes reins, et avec amertume gémis devant eux.
And thou, sone of man, weile in sorewe of leendis, and in bitternessis thou schalt weile bifore hem.
7 Et lorsqu’ils te diront: Pourquoi gémis-tu? tu diras: À cause de ce que j’ai entendu et qui vient; et tout cœur se fondra, et toutes les mains deviendront défaillantes, et tout esprit sera sans force, et l’eau coulera de tous les genoux; voici que cela vient, et que cela s’accomplira, dit le Seigneur Dieu.
And whanne thei schulen seie to thee, Whi weilist thou? thou schalt seie, For hering, for it cometh; and ech herte shal faile, and alle hondis schulen be aclumsid, and ech spirit schal be sike, and watris schulen flete doun bi alle knees; lo! it cometh, and it shal be don, seith the Lord God.
8 Et la parole du Seigneur me fut adressée, disant:
And the word of the Lord was maad to me,
9 Fils d’un homme, prophétise, et dis: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu. Dis: Le glaive, le glaive a été aiguisé et poli.
and he seide, Sone of man, profesie thou; and thou schalt seie, The Lord God seith these thingis, Speke thou, The swerd, the swerd is maad scharp, and is maad briyt;
10 C’est afin de tuer des victimes qu’il a été aiguisé; c’est afin de briller qu’il a été poli; toi qui abats le sceptre de mon fils, tu as coupé tout arbre par le pied.
it is maad scharp to sle sacrifices; it is maad briyt, that it schyne. Thou that mouest the ceptre of my sone, hast kit doun ech tree.
11 Et je l’ai donné à polir pour qu’il soit tenu à la main; il a été aiguisé, ce glaive, et il a été poli, afin qu’il soit dans la main de celui qui tue.
And Y yaf it to be forbischid, that it be holdun with hond; this swerd is maad scharp, and this is maad briyt, that it be in the hond of the sleere.
12 Crie et hurle, fils d’un homme, parce qu’il a été fait pour tuer mon peuple, pour tuer tous les chefs d’Israël qui avaient pris la fuite: ils ont été livrés au glaive avec mon peuple; c’est pourquoi frappe sur ta cuisse,
Sone of man, crie thou, and yelle, for this swerd is maad in my puple, this in alle the duykis of Israel; thei that fledden ben youun to swerd with my puple. Therfor smite thou on thin hipe, for it is preuyd;
13 Parce qu’il a été éprouvé; et ce sceptre, lorsqu’il l’aura renversé, ne sera plus, dit le Seigneur Dieu.
and this whanne it hath distried the ceptre, and it schal not be, seith the Lord God.
14 Toi donc, fils d’un homme, prophétise, frappe des mains, et qu’il soit doublé le glaive, et qu’il soit triplé le glaive des tués; c’est le glaive de la grande tuerie, lequel les frappe de stupeur,
Therfor, sone of man, profesie thou, and smyte thou hond to hond, and the swerd be doublid, and the swerd of sleeris be treblid; this is the swerd of greet sleyng, that schal make hem astonyed,
15 Et fait fondre les cœurs et multiplie les ruines. À toutes leurs portes j’ai jeté l’épouvante du glaive aiguisé et poli pour briller, engaîné pour le carnage.
and to faile in herte, and multiplieth fallingis. In alle the yatis of hem Y yaf disturbling of a swerd, scharp and maad briyt to schyne, gird to sleynge.
16 Aiguise-toi, va à droite ou à gauche, partout où tu désires porter ta face.
Be thou maad scharp, go thou to the riyt side, ether to the left side, whidur euer the desir of thi face is.
17 Bien plus, moi-même je frapperai des mains et j’assouvirai mon indignation; c’est moi le Seigneur qui ai parlé.
Certis and Y schal smyte with hond to hond, and Y schal fille myn indignacioun; Y the Lord spak.
18 Et la parole du Seigneur me fut adressée, disant:
And the word of the Lord was maad to me,
19 Et toi, fils de l’homme, pose-toi deux voies, afin que vienne le glaive du roi de Babylone; toutes deux sortiront d’une seule terre; et c’est de la main qu’il tirera sa conjecture, et à la tête de la voie de la cité qu’il conjecturera.
and he seide, And thou, sone of man, sette to thee twei weies, that the swerd of the king of Babiloyne come; bothe schulen go out of o lond, and bi the hond he schal take coniecting; he schal coniecte in the heed of the weie of the citee,
20 Tu feras une voie, afin que vienne le glaive à Rabbath des fils d’Ammon, et à Juda contre Jérusalem, ville très fortifiée.
settinge a weye, that the swerd come to Rabath of the sones of Amon, and to Juda in to Jerusalem moost strong.
21 Car le roi de Babylone s’est arrêté à la double voie, à la tête des deux chemins, cherchant un augure, mêlant les flèches: il a interrogé les idoles, il a consulté les entrailles,
For the king of Babiloyne stood in the meeting of twey weies, in the heed of twei weies, and souyte dyuynyng, and medlide arowis; he axide idols, and took councel at entrails.
22 À sa droite le sort est tombé sur Jérusalem, afin qu’il place des béliers, qu’il ouvre sa bouche pour le carnage, qu’il élève la voix avec un hurlement, qu’il place des béliers contre les portes, qu’il forme un rempart et qu’il bâtisse des fortifications.
Dyuynyng was maad to his riyt side on Jerusalem, that he sette engyns, that he opene mouth in sleyng, that he reise vois in yelling, that he sette engyns ayens the yatis, that he bere togidere erthe, that he bilde strengthinges.
23 Et il sera à leurs yeux comme consultant vainement un oracle, et imitant le repos des sabbats; mais lui-même se souviendra de leur iniquité, pour prendre Jérusalem.
And he shal be as counceling in veyn goddis answer bifor the iyen of hem, and seruynge the reste of sabatis; but he schal haue mynde on wickidnesse, to take.
24 C’est pourquoi voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: Parce que vous vous êtes souvenus de votre iniquité, et que vous avez révélé vos prévarications, et que vos péchés ont paru dans toutes vos pensées; parce que, dis-je, vous vous en êtes souvenus, vous serez saisis par sa main.
Therfor the Lord God seith these thingis, For that that ye hadden mynde on youre wickidnesse, and schewiden youre trespassyngis, and youre synnes apperiden in alle youre thouytis, forsothe for that that ye hadden mynde, ye schulen be takun bi hond.
25 Mais toi, profane, chef impie d’Israël, dont le jour marqué d’avance est venu dans le temps de la punition de ton iniquité;
But thou, cursid wickid duyk of Israel, whos dai bifor determyned is comun in the tyme of wickidnesse,
26 Voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: Ôte la tiare, enlève la couronne; n’est-ce pas cette couronne qui a élevé l’homme et humilié le grand?
the Lord God seith these thingis, Do awei the mitre, take awei the coroun; whether it is not this that reiside the meke man, and made low the hiy man?
27 Je la montrerai iniquité, iniquité, iniquité [mais cela n’arriva pas jusqu’à ce que vînt celui à qui appartient le jugement], et je la lui livrerai.
Wickidnesse, wickidnesse, wickidnesse Y schal putte it; and this schal not be doon til he come, whos the doom is, and Y schal bitake to hym.
28 Et toi, fils d’un homme, prophétise et dis: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu aux fils d’Ammon, et pour leur opprobre: Glaive, glaive, sors du fourreau pour tuer, polis-toi, afin que tu lues et que tu brilles,
And thou, sone of man, profesie, and seie, The Lord God seith these thingis to the sones of Amon, and to the schenschipe of hem; and thou schalt seie, A! thou swerd, A! thou swerd, drawun out to sle, maad briyte, that thou sle and schyne,
29 Lorsqu’on voit pour toi des choses vaines, et qu’on prédit des mensonges, afin que tu tombes sur le cou des impies blessés à mort, dont le jour marqué d’avance est venu dans le temps de la punition de leur iniquité.
whanne veyn thingis weren seien to thee, and leesingis weren dyuynyd, that thou schuldist be youun on the neckis of wickid men woundid, the dai of whiche bifore determyned schal come in the tyme of wickidnesse, turne thou ayen in to thi schethe,
30 Rentre dans ton fourreau, dans le lieu où tu as été créé, dans la terre de ta naissance je te jugerai;
in to the place in which thou were maad. Y schal deme thee in the lond of thi birthe,
31 Et je verserai sur toi mon indignation: dans le feu de ma fureur je soufflerai sur toi, et je t’abandonnerai aux mains d’hommes insensés, et qui ont machiné ta perte.
and Y schal schede out myn indignacioun on thee; in the fier of my strong veniaunce Y schal blowe in thee, and Y schal yyue thee in to the hondis of vnwise men, and makinge deth.
32 Du feu tu seras la pâture, ton sang sera répandu au milieu de la terre, tu seras livré à l’oubli, parce que c’est moi le Seigneur qui ai parlé.
Thou schalt be mete to fier, thi blood schal be in the middis of erthe; thou schalt be youun to foryetyng, for Y the Lord spak.
