Ézéchiel 11

1 Et un esprit m’éleva, et me conduisit à la porte orientale de la maison du Seigneur, qui regarde le soleil levant; et voilà à l’entrée de la porte vingt-cinq hommes, et je vis au milieu d’eux Jézonias, fils d’Azur, et Pheltias, fils de Banaïas, princes du peuple.

Moreover, the Spirite lift me vp, and brought me vnto the East gate of the Lordes house, which lyeth Eastwarde, and beholde, at the entrie of the gate were fiue and twentie men: among whome I sawe Iaazaniah the sonne of Azur, and Pelatiah the sonne of Benaiah, the princes of the people.

2 Et il me dit: Fils d’un homme, voici les hommes qui pensent l’iniquité, et qui forment un conseil pervers en cette ville,

Then said he vnto me, Sonne of man, these are the men that imagine mischiefe, and deuise wicked counsell in this citie.

3 Disant: N’est-ce pas depuis longtemps que sont bâties des maisons? celle-ci est la chaudière, et nous nous sommes la chair.

For they say, It is not neere, let vs builde houses: this citie is the caldron, and wee be the flesh.

4 C’est pourquoi prophétise sur eux, prophétise, fils d’un homme.

Therefore prophesie against them, sonne of man, prophesie.

5 Et l’esprit du Seigneur s’empara de moi, et me dit: Parle: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur: Ainsi vous avez parlé, maison d’Israël, et les pensées de votre cœur, je les connais.

And the Spirite of the Lord fell vpon me, and said vnto me, Speake, Thus saith the Lord, O ye house of Israel, this haue ye said, and I know that which riseth vp of your mindes.

6 Vous avez fait mourir un très grand nombre dans cette ville, et vous avez rempli ses rues de tués.

Many haue ye murthered in this citie, and ye haue filled the streets thereof with the slaine.

7 À cause de cela, voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: Vos tués, que vous avez mis au milieu de la ville, ceux-là sont la chair, et celle-ci la chaudière; mais je vous tirerai du milieu de cette ville.

Therefore thus saith the Lord God, They that ye haue slaine, and haue layed in the middes of it, they are the flesh, and this citie is the caldron, but I wil bring you foorth of the mids of it.

8 Vous avez craint le glaive, et j’amènerai le glaive sur vous, dit le Seigneur Dieu.

Ye haue feared the sworde, and I wil bring a sworde vpon you, saith the Lord God.

9 Et je vous chasserai du milieu d’elle, et je vous livrerai à la main des ennemis, et j’exercerai sur vous des jugements.

And I will bring you out of the middes thereof, and deliuer you into the hands of strangers, and will execute iudgements among you.

10 Vous tomberez sous le glaive; c’est sur les confins d’Israël que je vous jugerai, et vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur.

Ye shall fall by the sworde, and I wil iudge you in the border of Israel, and ye shall knowe that I am the Lord.

11 Cette ville ne sera point pour vous une chaudière, et vous, vous ne serez point comme des chairs au milieu d’elle; c’est dans les confins d’Israël que je vous jugerai.

This citie shall not be your caldron, neyther shall ye be the flesh in the middes thereof, but I will iudge you in the border of Israel.

12 Et vous saurez que je suis le Seigneur, parce que vous n’avez pas marché dans mes préceptes, et que vous n’avez pas accompli mes ordonnances, mais que vous avez agi suivant les coutumes des nations qui sont autour de vous.

And ye shall knowe that I am the Lord: for ye haue not walked in my statutes, neither executed my iudgements, but haue done after the maners of the heathen, that are round about you.

13 Et il arriva, lorsque je prophétisais, que Pheltias, fils de Banaïas, mourut; et je tombai sur ma face, criant à haute voix, et je dis: Hélas, hélas, hélas! Seigneur Dieu, c’est vous qui consumez les restes d’Israël?

And when I prophesied, Pelatiah the sonne of Benaiah dyed: then fell I downe vpon my face, and cryed with a loude voyce, and saide, Ah Lord God, wilt thou then vtterly destroy all the remnant of Israel?

14 Et la parole du Seigneur me fut adressée, disant:

Againe the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,

15 Fils d’un homme, tes frères, tes frères, les hommes, tes proches, et toute la maison d’Israël, tous ceux à qui les habitants de Jérusalem ont dit: Retirez-vous loin du Seigneur, c’est à nous que la terre a été donnée en possession.

Sonne of man, thy brethren, euen thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel, wholy are they vnto whome the inhabitants of Ierusalem haue said, Depart ye farre from the Lord: for the lande is giuen vs in possession.

16 À cause de cela, voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: Parce que je les ai envoyés loin parmi îles nations, et que je les ai dispersés dans les pays, je leur serai en petite sanctification dans la terre où ils sont venus.

Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord God, Although I haue cast them farre off among the heathen, and although I haue scattered them among the countreis, yet wil I be to them as a litle Sanctuarie in ye countreis where they shall come.

17 À cause de cela dis: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: Je vous rassemblerai du milieu des peuples, et je vous réunirai des terres dans lesquelles vous avez été dispersés, et je vous donnerai le sol d’Israël.

Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord God, I will gather you againe from the people, and assemble you out of the countreis where ye haue bene scattered, and I will giue you ye land of Israel.

18 Et ils y entreront, et ils ôteront d’elle tous ses scandales et toutes ses abominations.

And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the idoles thereof, and all the abominations thereof from thence.

19 Et je leur donnerai un même cœur, et je mettrai un esprit nouveau dans leurs entrailles; et j’ôterai le cœur de pierre de leur chair, et je leur donnerai un cœur de chair,

And I will giue them one heart, and I will put a newe spirit within their bowels: and I will take the stonie heart out of their bodies, and will giue them an heart of flesh,

20 Afin qu’ils marchent dans mes préceptes, et qu’ils gardent mes ordonnances, et qu’ils les exécutent; et qu’ils soient mon peuple, et que moi je sois leur Dieu.

That they may walke in my statutes, and keepe my iudgements, and execute them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

21 Mais ceux dont le cœur marche après leurs pierres d’achoppement et leurs abominations, je mettrai leur voie sur leur tête, dit le Seigneur Dieu.

But vpon them, whose heart is towarde their idoles, and whose affection goeth after their abominations, I will lay their way vpon their owne heades, saith the Lord God.

22 Et les chérubins élevèrent leurs ailes, et les roues s’élevèrent avec eux; et la gloire du Dieu d’Israël était sur eux.

Then did the Cherubims lift vp their wings, and the wheeles besides them, and the glorie of the God of Israel was vpon them on hie.

23 Et la gloire du Seigneur monta du milieu de la cité, et s’arrêta sur la montagne qui est à l’orient de la ville.

And the glorie of the Lord went vp from the middes of the citie, and stoode vpon the moutaine which is towarde the East side of the citie.

24 Et un esprit m’éleva, et me conduisit en Chaldée vers la transmigration, dans la vision, par l’esprit de Dieu; et la vision que j’avais vue me fut enlevée.

Afterwarde the Spirite tooke me vp, and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into Caldea to them that were led away captiues: so the vision that I had seene, went vp from me.

25 Et je dis à la transmigration toutes les choses que le Seigneur m’avait montrées.

Then I declared vnto them that were led away captiues, all the things that the Lord had shewed me.
